  1. They are not OP. I use a scout mainly. I seem to only get max 1 kill, if any, and die about 5 times per round...
  2. bought these (you get 10 per round), and upgraded them, but I have not been able to fire a single one. Locking onto someone just takes too long...
  3. I have a few suggestions to the next update: 1) Modify/add crew skills: Cybertech is pretty crazy having armoring (which costs 7 planet coms to get), and mods (2 coms), grenades, droid armor, and ship mods. There are also still disparities in material costs with the augment kits and augments for armstech and armormech. Why not make a new crafting skill that handles all the augment kits, droid armor (Some green and orange ones for all levels please?), ship mods, a few new augments, and maybe something else? give cybertech some green grenades for lower levels and REing for blue nades for compensation. 2) add a new race: Nothing makes people want to start a new character more than giving us a new way to complete it. yes, cathar are coming out with the expansion, but that seems like it'll be similar to the Zabrak without horns... 3)Fix old errors and provide compensation: nothing says "I'm sorry" like "we fixed this, and here's a free cool speeder". I have always been a fan of the saying "if you have something broken, fix it or replace it, don't just add on to it". feel free to comment or add to it.
  4. repair costs are still high. wait till u have Elite War Hero Gear and Black Hole Gear....
  5. So, I've played the gree area twice now, and here's my 2 cents. -it is insanely laggy, there always seem to be 12 instances running -finding groups in the same instance is impossible. When I did find a group, we couldn't transfer to the same instance because they seemed to be full by the time half of us switched -the PVP area of the questline was crammed full of imps with 21k+ hp, so I didn't even bother trying to figure out what I was supposed to do for it... -the gree gear requires such a huge reputation, that the reputation that I earned from doing the non pvp and non-group quests would take me at least a few days to get one piece, and about 5 weeks to get the legendary title... which is kinda pointless, as this event may only be running for a week. as for the cartel market updates, I found it frustrating that they took a lot of the same gear they had from the last pack and used it again. My spymaster gear used to look like the Classic stuff they now sell. So, I paid for the old spymaster stuff, they changed it, and now I must pay again for the same gear... how do I know that it's not going to change again too?
  6. only Harbinger server is down right now. why is this thread in general?
  7. I thought they might introduce a new currency (like they did with centurion coms). That's the point I was making... there is no point in trading down, and now I have to grind for another 1000 regular coms before finally getting a different pvp helmet... I did not say I traded anything. But for some reason, they have an option of trading down, which makes no sense. Again, that's the point I was making... After reading how this thread has progressed, I agree with your other remark (below):
  8. 1) LOS is the first counter. 2) Another counter I use a lot is a stun, which brings them out of their turret stance. When it wears off (or they break it), they often forget to recrouch, which leaves them open to being pushed, thrown, and interrupted. 3) As a cloaked char, you can also cloak out of battle, and knock them out of cover too, which gives you a third counter. and leaves them open to the attacks in 2) 4) Finally, the last one is the simplest to counter them, keep running in circles around behind them. Yes, they can still attack you with some attacks, but not all, so the player will likely be swiveling his mouse around to try and face you which will make it more difficult for him to manage his abilities. As a shadow (force techniques teir), here's how I take on a sniper: 1) if I can sneak up cloaked, I whirlwind him to knock him off balance. Use force breach and backstab him until I build a charge of instant use force crush. 2) I use force potency and then force crush, rock throw, and project combo. - by this time, he's up again, probably crouched and about to snipe me or he's stunned me (I break stun) and shield up. I will then force stun him if I can, force breach, and backstab (then mind crush if instant hit has built up) -before stun wears off, I will push him, cloak out of battle (with the increased cloak), and then do combo 1). Then combo 2) again if it's ready. If not, then I'll alternate with breach and melee attack until instant force crush builds up. 3) and when he's close enough, I switch to force breach and the critical hit until the instant force crush builds up and I can do 2). However, if he's running around, it's harder to do all this, so I use force slow, speed, and the other two force attacks that come with my tier to attack from a distance and keep close when I can. If I can get two uses of combo 1 and combo 2 each, plus using instant force crush a few times, I can usually bring a sniper down before I get below half health. Ops and scoundrel are a different story altogether though. I still have trouble managing them..
  9. I wonder how many ppl are in my position. I had been saving up my Ranked wz coms so I could purchase a WH headpiece. I exchanged probably about 3000 regular wz coms (at 30-10) for Ranked coms (so, I only got about 1000 Ranked coms... I still didn't have enough to get the headpiece before the update. Since BW changed it so you can now purchase the headpiece with unranked wz coms, I now don't even have enough unranked wz coms to purchase it. In order to convert backward, it's a 10-10 trade (which means I would loose 2000 unranked coms!!!). People answer with things like "Oh, well you can now buy elite war hero gear with it." NO I CAN'T! because all the Elite WH Gear requires the lower teir WH gear (yah, I know except the implants, which is another annoying issue below). So I now have to grind again for unranked coms to purchase a WH headpiece, which I will likely immediately exchange for an Elite WH headpiece, so I won't even have used the WH headpiece... as for the implants, well it's dumb that you can buy them with just ranked coms... I wasted coms before to purchase the BM implants, and didn't even have time to get the Ranked coms to purchase the WH implants plus the headpiece (other people probably did though, and wasted their coms on the implants since they could have saved them for Elite implants)... Now, I will probably just buy the Elite Implants, and never have used the WH implants either. So, that's three pieces of WH gear that I never even used. I just skipped to the elite gear... This seems like a repeating thing of grinding for some form of coms to get better gear, which BW eventually removes or replaces and you are either forced to exchange (losing tons of coms in the exchange), or put your old PVP gear on your comps... Don't even get me started with Centurion and Champion gear... that was even more frustrating with those random box rolls... I suppose that it's not as bad as that... and they're learning... almost one year after release, and two after testing started...
  10. I do not know if this was intentional or a bug. When using grenades, you must activate the skill and then select the area to drop them in. However, if you have another skill active, such as blaster volley (Smuggler) or another that takes time to complete, you can't click on the grenade skill until you've completed the previous skill. For example, if I wanted to follow up blaster volley (or the smuggler's bombing ability) with a grenade, I would have to wait until the previous skill has ended, click on the grenade, then place it in a spot. So between the time it takes to click (or activate) the skill, deploy it, and then it gets thrown, I am doing nothing but taking damage. It significantly reduces the effectiveness of grenades, and is probably why not too many people use them anymore. for normal skills, you do not have to wait until the skill has finished to click it again. For example, the Trooper's AOE rapid fire, sorc' force storm, and even the smuggler's blaster volley, can be clicked on while the skill is still being done. this delay/queue for the grenades may only amount to less than 1 second or more, but it can make the difference in a fight, and is much greater than other skills. A similar problem was occurring with the trooper's AOE cast time, and the speed was increased. I think that grenades should either be made more effective (greater damage, lengthen effects, etc) or this delay/queue should be reduced.
  11. When the game first came out, I created Characters on two separate servers (east coast and west coast), to test the lag. I found very few problems (except of course, lag was higher on one) but now I'd like all my characters to be on one server. Is it even possible to transfer characters from east coast to west coast?
  12. So, I have a problem with this Rakatta gear BOP... I know that it was made BOE to prevent people from selling it or giving it away. However, I think you should be able to build it for your legacy characters. People are using the exploit of ripping mods from some Rakatta gear and putting them in legacy gear... so this is another unfair advantage anyway... Bear in mind how difficult it is to get rakatta gear the conventional way(s): ~~5 days of doing all dailies repeatedly for one item... It really isn't promoting the use of your legacy characters after lvl 50, as I did the above once and was already so bored to tears that wanted to uninstall and play diablo 3 (which I don't have to pay monthly for)... Imagine you had did all the dailies and got all your gear (one month later...) and you have to do it again for your other characters!!! OR, constantly dropping your crewskills and re-leveling them to build each item of rakatta gear until you have them all (again, about one month later of doing the same friggin thing)... These current ways cause you to play the mind numbing grind everyone complains so much which kills games. Here's the option I suggest: you have other characters, which while you play their class quests, and level them up to 400 crafting skill (thereby not being bored and experiencing a new class), your lvl 50 beats a HM and wins a roll for some alloy, and your new character can build some Rakatta gear for your legacy characters. When they craft them, they can send them by mail, but not to other players (bound to legacy), and one they're put on they are Bound to that character (BOE). This would probably take just as much time as the current conventional ways, except it would be a much more entertaining experience. The current solution to Rakatta gear obviously isn't working as people have found an exploit, and should be fixed.
  13. I think a great addition to the legacy upgrades that you can purchase would be a Legacy bank on your ship which is accessible by all members in your legacy on all ships. I.e. you no longer have to keep logging on and off and using mail between each character. It'd be great to store Mats that various characters use, and would reduce the amount of quick log-ins and log-outs.
  14. lol. Does anyone know how to actually criticize something? It's pretty clear, but most of my problems were answered in the last news feed.
  15. About the legacy update: Jug's kids jedi have force choke? imp agents kids call in airstrikes? smuggers get a groin kick. gee.. I wonder which faction is going to continue to be dominant? (yes, I know these only apply outside of pvp). I also have yet to hear info that addresses ALL the current problems: faction imbalance, crewskills, equipment, companions, flashpoints, etc. Tell us HOW you're going to fix them? Here's a few problems... -imperial stuns have less cooldown than republic when talented -imperial agents knife attack does more damage then equivalent vanguard -I hear ppl still complaining about their orange gear not being able to be modified. I also see more people still wearing green gear at lvl 50, because they say it's harder to get RE schematics with republic characters (or they can't seem to find better gear) -Slicing lockboxes give schematics and missions more often than any other skill. Plus, credits from slicing missions actually yield returns (Treasure hunting: you lose money, oh, and you can't pick lockboxes up with treasure hunting, but slicing you can...) The Investigation" skill which still says in the codex it yields schematics for all skills, yet Underworld trading and slicing are both much better at that... -Esseles flashpoint 1st boss on HM is more difficult than Black talon 1st boss. (those republic soldiers do nothing unless you draw the boss way out of the elevator...) -Custom blade for qyzen before 50? how about increasing the affection or creating a gift he "loves". What hunter doesn't like trophies!? -The consular's sniper companion often yields no affection and sometimes only 5 credits when talking to him... -PVP imbalance... I'm at lvl 50 (centurion&champ gear) and unless I play at off hours and win by time running out (because there aren't enough players), I finish my daily "collect armaments/win warzones" and earn enough credits from medals to buy a bag (earning 6-8 medals/game), before I win 3 games... maybe this is just me, but I've noticed I'm always stunned longer than imps, my stuns don't work as often (jugs always avoid them), and even if I'm spec'd for damage, they're always healed faster than I can kill them. I've seen a powertech stand in the friggin flames stunned, walk out, I push him back in, and he takes zero damage the whole time... I force run through the flames and I get 3/4 of my life taken off in 2 sec.. oh, and can anyone confirm that imp agents in cover are uninterruptable while smugglers in cover are? -I have also been ejected from warzones that I have 4+ medals in, while I am fighting still... I receive zero medals, zero xp, zero credits, and get transported back to the fleet (where I have to shuttle back to the planet I was on... which, if it has an orbiting station, also takes incredibly long and goes through 6+ loading screens) I wonder if this imbalance is because Imps seem to both have more money,s chematics and are able to get better gear faster before and after lvl 50... I could continue, but many people have posted more... if you have anymore just reply here. Pls link other threads you find to this one too. I have now been on 2 servers with characters past lvl 50 which started with more republic players; both are now dominated by imperials. I switched the first because it was only Nascar on illum to get armaments (took 4 days to get one daily), and huttball in PVP (with other imps). the second server is turning out like that now too...
