  1. Agree. I posted a complaint a few days ago, and within 12 hrs Bioware posted their solution to the pvp problems. At which point I edited my post to take out the whining that I was doing. Everybody else should read the dev tracker to see that they are fixing this, and it's not working the way they want. For crying out loud, try playing a 2v8 huttball match. And why do people come to the forums and complain without even checking the dev tracker to see if the problem is already being addressed? I at least had the common sense to do so. However, let's not instantly assume it's going to be in the very next small patch. There's no telling what exactly went wrong with the system, and how long it'll take them to fix it.

Because they're supposed to. Answer me this, why can a sorc attack me with more than one ability from range and a sent can't? Because they were designed that way. If you are a sorc complaining about doing 1k less damage than a MELEE class, than I have no clue if you really understand anything about balance at all. I hope to God they don't nerf Sent/Maras (I'm not either of those classes) and that people will simply learn how to play without mashing every button they have assigned to a quickslot, or following some random rotation they read from a forum post and think it should guarantee 100% win.

In the duel that mentioned a few pages back, I pointed out that I took almost 10k from a Master Strike. I was in full Rakata at the time, and the Sentinel was also in his PvE gear. But I also don't consider Master Strike to be one hit.... Since it's THREE. But like I said, if you are going to put yourself into a position where you are stuck sitting there letting it happen to yourself, well there's only one person to blame for that and it isn't Bioware....
  4. Actually I'm just going to criticize you for coming into this thread with the sole purpose of raining negativity on somebody else's joy. Obviously the thread wasn't titled "what do you hate about 1.2." So yeah, only reason you came here is.... why exactly?

I will use my strategy in a group fight. Apparently you're strategy is to try to 1v2-8 and post here when it doesn't work out for you. Good luck with that. And if I used every single one of my utilities in one fight then I'd be kinda dumb.... wouldn't I? So let's say I have a root and a stun only. Well guess what, that just calls for me to be more careful about planning my use of them. You all need to stop crying about this class and just move on to whoever we're going to complain about next. Or we can just start a thread asking for Bioware to implement a God-mode button for all of us and save the hassle of complaining about every class besides our own.

I had a duel with my guild's Sentinel in Outlaw's Den the other day. And just to show it to everybody we let him do his Master Strike on me. Yes, it did almost 10k damage (I went from 17180 hp to 79xx hp). I'm a dps Shadow, btw. But here's the thing, I have no problems with that. Because every other duel we've had I have NOT stood there and let him get a Master Strike off. It's an ability that is extremely difficult to use. So I have no issue with the damage that it does. I find it hard to believe that the problem isn't with Mara/Sents. The problem is with people blowing all of their CCs, roots, and knockbacks at the wrong time. Guess what I do against a Sentinel? I root them. Then I CC them. And then I save 1 cc and 1 knockback just in case they try a Master Strike. It's called strategy. And yes, there are times when I don't have any of those available, almost always because I just finished fighting somebody else. Guess what, I run away during Master Strike. If all of my utilities are on cooldown, I'm not going to really expect to have a whole lot of options, against ANY class. If I went against an Op/Scoundrel in the same scenario, I'd be just as dead as I would against a Mar/Sent, Sorc/Sage, or just about anybody else. Everybody really needs to just adapt to the game and stop QQing for Bioware to make their own classes unbeatable.

So essentially it's situational? As in you might be the unlucky one who gets reamed by this ability? That sounds a lot like the Operative/Smuggler defense when everybody was QQing about them... Out of sheer curiousity, does anybody want to start up a pool with me for who is going to be the focus for OP rants next week?

As a Balance spec Shadow, (and I've already posted in here once) I am finding more and more today that I am having less problems with Marauders/Sentinels than I was yesterday. I am definitely not the best pvper, but I can consistently take down Mar/Sents in 1v1 situations, and even took down a Sniper and Marauder today in a 2v1. They aren't broken, nothing is wrong with them. I'm not gonna say what you should do, because it's been beaten to death and I doubt most of the people complaining on the forums are going to put any effort into learning how to pvp.

I agree with pretty much this whole post. I cut it down to the highlight parts that I most agree with. As a Balance Shadow, I have not run into the problems of getting destroyed by Marauders/Sentinels. A big part of this is because my guildie, Lights, has dueled me a bunch of times and helped me learn how to fight against them. Also watching him duel others. And PVPing against them. It was the first day of the patch. And lots of changes were made to almost every class. Guess what that means? You guessed it, L2P. Again. And lets definitely not forget that for the first 45 days of the game being out everybody claimed they were the most worthless class in the game. Guess what, people learned how to play them. I can't understand how anybody gets hit by Ravage/Strike. Unless you are CCed with your breaker on CD. That should really be the only time that ever happens. And if that happens odds are that you blew your CD too soon. Marauders will own if you don't stop them at the beginning. If you aren't figuring out how to weather/avoid the early storm they can put out, then you aren't doing it right. I can tell with the first 5 seconds who will win in a 1v1 with me and a Marauder, and most of the time it's me.
  10. There's a post somewhere from the devs stating that the RE system isn't "working as intended" at the moment, and a fix is going to be in an upcoming patch. As for what's broke about it, not sure. As for what the fix is, not sure. And for which patch, not sure. I've had some hit or miss times with getting purples myself, so I understand the frustration. I'm not sure what exactly is broken about the RE system, but whatever it is they're going to patch it relatively soon. Hope this helps some.
  11. I seem to remember everybody raging on the forums due to the Ops nerf claiming that it was done in response to forum complaints only. Now in this post you are upset that they are adjusting our class when nobody else complained about them. Seems lose lose to me. However, I do in general agree with everybody about this patch. Not because they are changing the way our class can be played, but because it is being restricted to only our class. This is being done in such a way as to give us DRASTICALLY less flexibility compared to every other class in the game. If this patch did this to every other class and punished them for making hybrids the same way we are, I'd be okay with it. I mean, sure they'd be taking things away from the game but at least they'd be doing it equally across the board.
  12. I could be mistaken here, but I'm pretty sure that in the first Darth Bane book he pretty muchs wipes out all of the Sith. I mean, he does in fact wipe them out, but I don't know how the timeline from this game ties to that timeline. Edit: Looking at diamond's post above I see now. Somehow that bottom answer eluded my attention seconds ago.

    GY exploit...

Actually genius, I just did a forum search and did in fact find that post. It's a ways back, but type in "Huttball Exploit" and go read some. (You'll have to ignore the first couple pages probably, it was buried a decent ways back when I did it and a lot of trash threads are in the way too. I'm surprised this one wasn't.)

    GY exploit...

Cool, I'm just going to not do that.

    GY exploit...

This is not a big deal, to be honest. It's the equivalent of knocking people off the bridge in Voidstar. Only difference is in Huttball if you stay there you get kicked. I'd be more upset about people in same faction Huttball game pulling their guildmates into the scoring area when they are on opposite teams.
