  1. Thanks god. I've been hearing, and seeing, how EA is greedy and nickel and dimes players. But this would be impossible even for them. Thanks for your post, I'm feeling slightly relieved, even though I hope they switch direction with their F2P model.
  2. I'm also looking for yellow post here. If this is true, even for F2P players (for example a preferred player calls Bioware, and since he's not paying, they charge him/her complimentary cartel coins etc.), I will never ever buy any videogame with EA logo on it. Please someone clarify this, and I honestly hope this was one huge mistake.
  3. Okay I have to bump this topic, because I just had a major bug/exploit or whatever. I went to Section X to pick up my weekly, and it instantly completed itself. And I got BH comms and creds and everything. I was like '*** is this?' Plus I had the same issue like OP last week. Someone please enlighten me.
  4. Haha, funny thing I used to be a so-called ''fanboy'', I followed them with everything they did, I was watching the streams and was so excited for the upcoming content, but I just cannot pretend like nothing is going on. I mean the most iconic holiday in the history, and they sell you stuff instead of gifts, and that stuff is just recolored. Minimal work, and maximum cash. I really don't like that philosophy. I got back to my AoC, it had great improvements to it's F2P model, just like TSW, which used GW2's model. They really should look at them, and see how to keep it's players happy. Also Revan's outfit, really disappointed, it's in gambling bags, and it's bugged too. They should've created Nightmare version of Flashpoints and then added Revan's stuff as very rare drops. But it seems with this direction, CM will be the main priority. And of course every single thing OP mentioned, he hit a nail I must say. I really hope BW reads this and see how their loyal players feel.
  5. You are right I must say LotRO is Pay 2 Win too, you can buy class abilities for PvP without earning PvP levels for them, you can buy stat increases, ingredient packs, now they gave you craft XP to level even faster and then sell you XP disabler at the shop. They have also dumbed down LotRO way too much, just for the sake of more money and convenience. They are actually selling writs to get you back to quest giver instantly. However it seems TOR is going even the worse direction atm, and I really, really hope this changes.
  6. I am sad to say I completely agree with the OP. I really love this game, played it even before f2p, was excited for upcoming expansions and new races/classes etc. But the OP post is the sad truth of what this game had become. Ever since 1.5, they've been gouging their players, and not worrying about the game at all, not to mention no new class stories, the most important part of this game. Charging for holiday items is beyond ridiculous. I actually play other MMO's too, as f2p, like AoC, and used to play LotRO and WoW, and all of them have free holidays and rewards with them. And that F2P preview episode, it seems they're proud of what they're doing. I really miss the Docs, Alexander Freed, Daniel, and others who left. Ohlen is nowhere to be found as well. Before F2P this game had a direction, and great future ahead, but now I really lost my faith. Once my sub runs out I'll still play casually as preferred, and hope for the better. I will resub if I see the game change dramatically, and F2P restrictions loosened, they're way too harsh. I used to be a Biodrone, an avid supporter of BW/EA, but these recent events really opened my eyes. Not to mention waiting 35 days to receive my Cartel Coins, and waiting 2 weeks for Customer Service reply, which if you're not sub you don't get. Really disappointed. Plus there is no way that I can even buy Makeb, my country doesn't support Paypal and I don't have a credit card. I was thinking to save up some CC for it, but it seems that's not even an option, and btw even LotRO allows subs to save up the store coins, and F2P people can earn them in-game. So all in all, I really wish this game to change for the better and I'll be watching it closely.
  7. Simply press the Esc button or reset the mission, works for me any time.
  8. No the other poster got it wrong. It doesn't unlock for all character automatically. Before this patch, when you complete the mission series, both Legacy perks (for Imps and Reps) were locked, and people could buy both for no reason, since HK was unlocked for that character. After this patch, the perk will be unlocked, but only for that character. So on each character you complete the missions, you'll get the perk. I believe they did this to prevent confusion into people buying perks for no reason, since they already completed the mission series on that specific character.
  9. Lots of great feedback and questions in this topic, but I'd like to add one thing: A couple of months ago, one of the devs said that they're planning to add mentoring system in SWTOR (a.k.a. down-leveling to the lower level areas you visit) 'at some point in the future', to help friends and keep the content still on level. Any news on that, will it be coming to SWTOR soon?
  10. Thanks for the news. So we'll have purchasable character slots and credit limit soon! Great, like the author of the topic said, if we had an option to remove the credit cap, the game would truly be F2P, as you can buy Cartel Market off the GTN. Looking forward to it!
  11. I also used Game Time Card and I also got 0 cartel coins. A lot of people have my issue, and I really hope BW fixes this asap. It's been 5 days already.
  12. I completely agree, I love this flexibility BW added. It's a great way for people who can't afford to buy Cartel Coins, and great gifts for friends, and it also won't unbalance the economy since player credits just switch hands. GJ on this one BW! I'm also buying unlocks and authorizations from GTN myself. And like you said everyone's happy, BW gets money, seller gets credits and I get Cartel Market item without spending a dime.
  13. I agree! I'm so sick of reading people posting ''I'm a paying customer! F U F2P freeloaders!!'' etc. types of posts. They really need to show respect for all kinds of players. Even f2p player can spend money on unlocks and CC shop stuff. And also, I'm sick of people using terms ''customer'', ''product'', ''business'' etc. I know that video game development is a business, but we are players, and SWTOR is a video game. All in all, nice to see a positive thread! Keep it up!
  14. Hah I just created a topic in general about leveling. I agree, but those XP boosts allow different playstyle. I'm glad BW went this way than Blizzard's way who constantly nerfed XP required, and nowadays you steamroll to 90 in 3 days. I wished there was an XP disabler, that would suit a lot of people. They could put WZ twinks in seperate queue. And I played about 2-5 hours a day for weeks, sometimes even more, and my trooper is level 42 for now. I have a total of 7 played days for now and not even reached level cap, since I enjoy slow leveling.
  15. Yeah that's why I edited my post and said not everyone. But SWTOR's FB page is full of trolls like I mentioned and it's actually getting dull, so I stopped reading FB comments And as for companions, no they're not meant to replace human interaction. It's BW's thing, many of their RPG's have them and it's their standard. They're there due to the story, as a major part of it actually. They add to the immersion and excitement. And they help you when you need it.
