  1. I believe you are seeing Republic Twi'lek vs Empire Twi'lek differences. I believe they do have some different appearances. It may not show as a 'legacy' unlock if you are on the faction that appearance normally belongs to. It should just be an option to select it directly.
  2. Market items dont change any game balance so I dont see any issue with it or any reason why a server without the market would benefit anyone. The few items that do have stats on them are not for 'end game' players so they dont really cause any trouble for people who choose not to buy them.
  3. I dont mind the way it is now where different once have specific uses.. Though I do think they should make the healer companion the first or 2nd one you get in every class. There are some fights that you just need a healer for if you are a tad under geared etc.
  4. SWTOR isnt going to just go away. There are plenty of MMO's that survived even when their population shrunk considerably. SWTOR isnt shrinking at this point and still has more population that most other MMOs do.
  5. Some outposts can be 'raided' like that but others you'd need a pretty large force to do.. Also, if you kill a quest NPC in one of those outposts there is a decent chance you'll get a visit from a GM if someone saw you do it. That and the fact that most people do not run around flagged for PVP on the PVE servers so there wouldnt be many lowbies to kill anyway.
  6. Right now some planets have bonus series that are much higher level than the original part of the planet.. so in those cases you do go back again. There's also datacron hunting and HK-51 parts on some planets. Since we dont have to travel to planets to do flashpoints or ops there isnt much other incentive to go back to old planets. They only thing they might be able to do is add daily quest areas for level 50 players similar to the ones on Belsavis and Corellia.
  7. Some of those things you mention already exist in some forms. I.e. the daily and weekly quests you get from fleet terminals that require finishing certain flashpoints, or killing certain world bosses, or get certain things done in PVP etc. As for Flashpoints, every flashpoint in the game can be completed as a level 50 version. Even the ones you get at earlier levels have a 'hard mode' which makes it fit for level 50s to do. If you take that into account this game has as many end game dungeons as other MMOs have.
  8. You really should find out what is causing the LAG. There are different things that people call LAG. Also keep in mind that this is an MMO and if you're not familiar with them, they tend to be more difficult for under powered PCs to run that most other kinds of games. If you're standing still and your frame rate is low (hit CTRL SHIFT F and look in the lower left corner for the # and color) you can upgrade either video or CPU depending on which is the problem. There is a post somewhere that tells what color means what on the meter) If you get chugging when trying to move or pan the camera that can also be caused by your hard drive. Listen to the computer, if you hear a lot of clicking and grinding when you get that lag your HDD maybe going bad. (I recently had this issue and after replacing it the trouble cleared up) More RAM could help but if you already have 3 gig of ram and are not on a 64 bit OS you may not see any real benefit from getting more RAM. Also, figure out what else is running on your PC besides the game. There are tons of applications that like to run in the background and eat up resources.
  9. I feel like SWTOR has very similar end game as other MMOs. You can do repeatable solo missions, or Flashpoints (aka dungeons) or Ops (raids) or PvP. What else is there? I know of no other MMO that has anything other than those same type of things at the end game. I personally get bored of repetition at end game and tend to do it only for a short time on any MMO I've played. SWTOR is no different. I just make alts when I get to 50 and even play other games now and then.
  10. When I upgraded to a SSD hard drive on my otherwise fast computer it helped quite a lot. They still take a bit to load but definitely faster than before. Also, your internet connection speed can be a factor too since it is also loading in the data for NPCs and Players for the area you are going to.
  11. I have a question about a Sorcerer ability... The one called Crushing Darkness currently says it does 486 damage instantly then 731 damage over 6 seconds.. This implies the DOT part does 121.833 dps. However, if I spend 2 skill points in Lingering Nightmares the tooltip changes to doing 486 instantly then 731 over 8 seconds. Now the DOT is doing 91.385 DPS. To me, based on the tooltip that ability now does LESS DPS. So, if that is the case, why would I want that skill box? Any insight? Anyone parsed it to see if the tooltip is just wrong?
  12. You can search by partial name of an item even without using the drop downs. At one point it only would take full word searches though.. i.e. "Blastech sniper rifle" could be found by just typing "blastech" but not by "blast". I'm not sure if it still works that way since I havent tried recently for partial word searches.
  13. It will make a difference for sure, but probably not a huge problem if you're using "Medium" as long as your other gear is all "Heavy". If you went with "Light" you might start to see too much of a deficit in armor rating. I'd think it could be a problem for the really hard stuff but most things it probably would be OK.
  14. The way I view the light and dark in SWTOR is for Empire players light is less 'evil' but doesnt make you go light side. For Republic the dark choices are not very nice things to do but not necessarily 'evil'. (though there are some exceptions to that)
  15. +100 makes companions stronger than players for a while. At some point it starts to not matter as much but all the way through the game it does help. You can also get significant presence boosts from completing all companion story lines on a level 50 character (or close enough to 50 that you actually can complete them). Each one is another +10 I believe. My level 50 characters are well over 500 presence now due to the various bonuses and you can get upwards of 600 if you get everything on all characters done. (of course by then it no longer matters as much)
