  1. So I just learned that almost all the classes can chose between 252 mainhand and offhand as a reward for the WB weekly on Ossus. Where as sin/shadow we are only offered dps or tank mainhand...thanks Bioware...
  2. So still no fix for Phantom Stride. I guess when Eric told us "if something is not in the patch notes it's a bug" that was not true.
  3. Even if it's one piece of gear people will still farm it. Except now people will fight really hard for it and get frustrated if they don't get it. Remember people always take the path of least resistance so if you can have BiS while doing EV or KP, people will do it. The gear progression we had up until 4.0 (if you exclude priority op) was actually pretty good. it enticed people who really wanted better gear to do harder content. That's the reason why I started doing HM when I got my full 192 back in 3.0. It gave me the taste for raiding and now I'm running NiM 3 times a week ^^ But otherwise, I agree with you. A weekly HM and NiM op which has better rewards is a nice idea. It would give a reason to do an op other than just doing it. Bioware's easiest fix ever
  4. It was not a good thing. Hence why they removed it. It started the trend of handing gear to everyone and look where it took us. To be fair, the whole command rank system is probably even worse and should be removed too. An ops having better reward is not a good idea though. But as usual with Bioware it was a good idea badly implemented. Rewarding a better tier of gear than what you're supposed to get is bad because it devalue the harder content. What you want to do is give a good enough reward to motivate people to run it, but not so much that it becomes a better way to gear than the content it's supposed to drop from. Couldn't agree more Yeah, just for the records and to truly realize how confusing it is. HM FP are now called Master Mode, but HM ops are now called veteran while Tactical FP (which are role neutral contrary to Veteran ops) are also called Veteran. And that's only for ops and FP. If you mix in Uprisings it gets even more confusing. Story Mode Ups are role neutral like Veteran Mode FP, but Veteran Mode Ups do actually have role requirements like Master Mode FP. And on top of that there's Master Mode Ups, which are way more difficult than Master Mode FP and more in line with Master Mode ops (not really, but still more than MM FP). I don't know who got the ideas for the names, it's everything except clearer. If only. I'm a strong believer that a new, harder difficulty for FP would be a good thing.
  5. Story mode ?! Why ? I haven't done story mode in 2 years and don't want to do it. Why not NiM ? Or at least HM ? What it is skewed logic ?
  6. You didn't read everything I wrote, did you ?
  7. The rotation difficulty should play a very minor role in DPS. What if you make a class with crazy hard rotation, but godlike DCD ? I'll be pretty broken if it has the best DPS of the game. DCD, mobility, raid utility, passive defense, ranged vs melee and dot vs burst should all play a bigger role than rotation difficulty.
  8. How would bringing back different gear for PvE and PvP and making the hardest content reward the best gear make you stop raiding or pvping if you want to ? As it is now, BiS is almost handed to you. It'll pretty much still be the case after 5.10. Sure it'll be grindy, but Ossus weekly is far from the hardest content there is in the game yet it rewards the best gear. Would you ask for the salary of your CEO as a simple office worker ? I don't think so. Greater difficulty should reward greater rewards. Gear is a great way to incetivize people to run harder and harder content thus making the harder content community grow (or at least stay stable) with fresh players joining the fun. Another argument for 2 sets of gear is that, and it's a basic of any MMO, PvP should not be a viable way to get the best PvE gear and vice versa. Which pretty much is the case at the moment with the best method being runing HM ops for 242 gear and pvp to get UC to change them to 248. With 5.10 it'll become heavily gimped towards PvE which is a bad design.
  9. You don't understand what role Story FP had then. Back then it was to teach you how to play in the trinity system, what was your role in this system so you could be prepared once you transitioned to HM FP and ops. As it is now and since it's gender neutral, you more often than not are forced to play in a role that's not yours. I, for instance, end up tanking each and every time there's not a tank (and even sometimes when there is). What this implies is that people take bad habit. Engaging the combat as a dps or bad execution (or even non-execution) of mechanics are two examples. And when thiose players transition to harder content those habits are hard to break. So we end up with DPS pulling before the tank, people standing in stupid, not executing the mechanics since, according to them, they know what to do despite being a 1st timer in HM FP. The list goes on and this thread has everything you need to prove my point. Sure it happened before, but it's becoming more and more since tactical replaced SM FP. To the point I almost never run HM FP anymore even though I quite like to do it. But the population is so bad I prefer to avoid the frustration of wiping over and over again on easy (at least for me) content because people don't know how to play their role properly or their class properly.
  10. Tactital is a gimped system. So as long as it exists, the average level of the player base will stay low.
  11. Totally like priority ops incentivised people to run all the HMs and not farm EV and KP to get 224. If EV & KP NiM were a thing again and they were easier than other NiM we would have a bunch of people farming them to get the most gear they can and and that's it. Even making them drop lower tiered gear wouldn't change a thing. We would have a lot of people farming them and be done with it.
  12. You're greatly underevaluating the ability of casual players to swap gear. Sure some will complain in the beginning, but they'll eventually get over it. And for those who didn't get the memo and still come pvp in pve gear, the problem has always been around. The thing is, putting expertise back in to the game would solve the big gearing problem we have now.
  13. I still don't see how having 2 separate sets of gear would kill pvp. It takes literally 10" to swap gear. I've done it for as long as I've pvp and it never stopped me from queuing.
  14. But the whole issue I have with is it that it respect the GCD which was not in the patchnotes ! The .25 delay after usage is fine, the only problem is the fact it respects the GCD. And as I said countless times, it must be a bug since it was not in the patchnotes so I'm asking Bioware to go back to how it was before. That's it.
  15. So you're implying that Bioware sometimes do things that don't make sense ? Like maybe putting PS on the GCD ? That's why I said Bioware should communicate with the players to avoid situations like we're both in. If they explained why they did it, I wouldn't have had anything to say. As it is now you may be right or I may. I assume they did the change to try to solve the issue I know, which are not solved which is why I'm complaining. As it is now we have a supposed fix which doesn't fix the issue we knew about and Bioware not telling us they did it to fix another issue we didn't know so it's only fair to assume this issue doesn't exist until they say otherwise. Of course not, but when you play a class a lot, go a lot to the forums and talk with a lot of players of your class, you know a lot of things about it, even some less known. On top of that, Eric said a while ago that if a change was not in the patchnotes it was a bug. And making PS respecting the GCD was not on the patchnotes which implies it's a bug.
