  1. And here I was thinking that we Americans were supposed to be the nationalistic jerks.
  2. I guess you're right, the legacy combination thing is probably the best idea out there when it comes to this. I can see how any sort of @handle would become rather cumbersome.
  3. I'll never delete my characters, but this will always haunt me, no matter what happens. I still feel it is such a simple request. Who knows, maybe they're being sneaky and will wipe the names of inactive accounts after 1.5, to avoid name hoarding during the moments after.
  4. I can relate. This just makes characters seem more like avatars and tools, not people who we spend time developing and growing. It creates some sort of disconnect.
  5. I truly hope that the developers will notice this in some way before it is too late.
  6. Could you please explain why you think this would break the mail system?
  7. Care to explain why? Thank you for explaining that, I think the mail system would be fine without exclusive names.
  8. I agree, that is why I feel it is important that this be addressed before F2P or not at all.
  9. Yes, like a legacy name that has absolutely no aesthetic purpose and exists solely for identification.
  10. I honestly fail to see how this would interfere with ingame mail. Just put the @tag or legacy name in along with the character.
  11. If legacy names were to become a key element in identification, I imagine they would be chosen earlier on.
  12. Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one. What would you think about resetting names before the game goes free to play? It would take care of any inactive and abandoned accounts. If this were to be implemented, it would probably be seen as Seikier-Vacarius, not a random chain of numbers. If anything, wouldn't this actually help identify others? It would prevent people from making characters just to be jerks, and let you recognize friendly players on different characters.
