  1. Oh, and the simplest way to deal with this is to give the people affected a free transfer to another server. I personally am annoyed that I was given no choice in where my toon went, it was either stay on a dead server or move to this server and have your name and legacy changed. Give people a choice of servers and you can pick and CHOOSE. If your name is taken on the new server move somewhere else.
  2. Hmm. but how would we have felt if, after Empire, Lukes name suddenly changed to Norman? While you may not attach much importance to a name, others do. And whether you agree or not, this is an issue that should be addressed, The transfers could have been handled better. Bioware did it this way because its the easiest way, and unless people complain about it, they will not know how this has affected people. The whole thing with business is customer satisfaction, and businesses will continue to think that everyone is satisfied with them if people do not complain about changes. If you are satisfied with the way it was handled then fine, but its a bit presumptuous to keep having a pop at people who are not.
  3. Great suggestion. Would be a great addition.
  4. Well the transfers have been and gone and, im guessing that others have the same problem as me. My problem is, I beta tested the game, then bought the game, played my main to 50 then, with the massive amount of people unsubbing on my server, the game and my guild collapsed. Ok, I get that these things happen, no worries, transfers are coming. Joy? Well no. I get a transfer ( one of the last to happen) And lo and behold, the only place I can go is to a server where my toons name AND legacy are already taken. Now I know that others may not see this as a big deal, but for me? My whole character and style of play was in the name and my legacy. I am seriously miffed about this and considering cancelling my sub. I didnt spend 3 months of my life ( and quite a bit of cash) levelling a toon only to be forced to redo them due to shoddy admin. I realise that when the game launched that having a lot of servers was prudent, but why? when it became apparent that server merges were neccesary (due to a mass exodus away from the game) Why was this issue not taken into consideration? I have e-mailed my complaint to bioware and several days later was told to post it here.
  5. Afraid not mate, EXACTLY the same here. Logged in and only 1 other player on the old server, So off to the only server I am allowed to transfer too. So far, so hoopy. Oh dear your name is now PDBWEJIGFHZISWVUH. Great, so my lvl 50 HAS to have a new name. Legacy? No that is taken too. Brilliant so my main characters, have had to change name AND legacy. After the MASSIVE grind that is getting a decnetley geared toon I am now left with a toon that I now personally feel I have no connection too. Also a lot of my old friends have had to do this as well so, I can no longer find them without a massively tedious trawl through variants on names.Unbelievable.
  6. I have played the game since BETA, and I love it. I started out like many on this thread, being very impatient, moaning about bugs and lamenting the lack of community and economy. My fix? I joined a good guild. Got to 50, ground the dailies with my guidmates to gear up and started running FPs, started raiding, got massacred ran MORE FPs, On the way I have met some great people, some total imbeciles (mostly on the forums) And most surprisingly had help from the developers in game when I have reported bugs. The point is you will only ever get out of this game what you are willing to put into it. Personally I am having a great time growing in experience, tactics, geographic knowledge, crafting advantages etc etc and helping guildmates grow their toons and expand their knowledge. It is a slow process but a satisfying one. Too many people seem to treat the game as single player with the object of "beating it". i.e Maxing everything on your toon and then bemoaning why its taking so long to bring in new content. Surely that is contrary to what an MMO is at its core?
  7. I got the greaves from a lvl 5 TH lockbox and have been (unsuccessfully) farming for the rest. They are VERY rare drops. When 1.2 comes in they will be worth a fortune on GTN
  8. As a lvl 50 combat sentinel as my main, I love it. Have run most HM FP's and started on raids it is one of the most challenging, but most fun classes in the game for me. For all the negatives, and being honest there are a few. I still think its a great class to play, a decent storyline and once you get doc geared up its great carving mobs up with duel lightsabers. Show your love for the Sentinel.
