  1. Obviously been a while since I posted...must change my sig... I'm on Bergeren Colony now 😊
  2. I'm enjoying the game, but like others who have posted about the single player storyline of the Outlander, I'm feeling that it's a little too generic. I understand that it is very complex and expensive to do different class stories, but the current approach appears to be greater divergence based upon character choices. Given this writing paradigm, and assuming that KOTFE continues in a fairly predictable manner, I have some sub-plot suggestions which would fit within the main plot and give the illusion of a tailored story based on choices. 1. Starship notoriety. Star Wars has its notable ships (Falcon, Ebon Hawk, etc). Our PC ship should be as notable to the Eternal Empire given that they are scouring the Galaxy for us. Have a sub- plotline which has enemies spawn in docking stations any time we use a personal starship. To solve this annoyance of being recognised, the sub-plot then enables the PC to undertake a quest to obtain a less identifiable personal starship (based on one of the existing generic models). If the PC declines, each Chapter will see an increase in the number and quality of starport mobs that spawn. 2. Threat generation on Zakuul. As our Alliance grows, particularly if we've not been very supportive of Zakuul's continuation after we depose Arcann, have some random Zakuul citizens generate threat as we pass by and then summon Knights as random encounters. If the PC has been supportive of Koth and the plight of Zakuul citizens, then lower or no threat should be generated. DS points can be gained by slaughtering these citizens for 'reporting you'. You could reduce this threat generation by doing reputation missions for Zakuul. I've got other ideas, but these explain what I mean. They would require relatively little to implement (I expect - I'm a writer, not a coder) and I've tried to use existing mechanisms for this reason. But it would further support the tone of the main plot and still enable players to 'customise' their experience of the story through their gameplay choices. Thoughts?
  3. Got in before me! And I've just noticed how out of date my sig is!
  4. The Emperor was missing from The Sith Empire for a lot of time. More than enough to set up the Eternal Empire and father children prior to SoR and Ziost.
  5. Whilst there are a number of good guilds on Gav Daragon, I've not quite found any that fit what I'm looking for, so now I'm looking to build two new guilds, one Republic and one Imperial. I'm happy to put the time and effort into building the guilds, hosting the website, etc, but I'm after expressions of interest from the Gav Daragon Community first. Fundamentally, I'd like to see more roleplaying in the game (tricky with the current UI), but I'm hopeful that it will get better. In the meantime, I envisage that the Guild website will be a second point of contact for in-character (IC) interactions - somewhere where you can tell your stories, and those of your legacies, as well as trade and build relationships with other PCs. Out Of Character (OOC), the Guilds will be well-organised, with the usual facilities that you'd expect, but nevertheless will be a laid-back setup, with the guild officers realising that we've all got busy lives outside of the SWTOR universe. To that end, and realising that the membership can't keep up with those who can spend hours on end playing, the guilds will be a cooperative system, with its members helping each other out by tithing a tenth of their credits once per month (on an honour system) and offering their time and expertise. From an IC point of view, the Guilds will be set up as having an associated history and I'm hoping to have features such as a Marketplace for crafters, a Combat Academy for discussing PvP tactics, tips and tricks and a Lore Archive for listing momentous events in Galactic History (tactics, tips and tricks for Operations and Flashpoints, as well as for Heroics and Dailies) - to name just a few. As I say, I'm happy to build it all and see how we go, but only if I can get the interest. If it's not there, then I'll wait another six montha and try again. If you are interested, please leave your details below, or alternately, send an IC mail to either Karad (Republic) or Daresh (Imperial). Whether you're interested or not, thanks for reading.
  6. Just to give a different spin to this, I'm a male gamer, but have played toons of different genders. I started playing female characters because I figured that if I was going to spend loads of time playing a game and looking at the same character, I might as well look at something pretty. But I noticed that in MMOs, you do get treated differently if people think you are a girl. I never lied about my RL gender, but I just didn't raise it unless I was asked outright. Most people didn't guess, but there was a definite change that came with switching between alts with different genders, even from the same other players. Ultimately, I think I got away with more as a 'female', but that might be the IWKs referred to earlier. Ultimately, we play MMOs for the community. It would be a pretty messed up community if we ignored or abused half of the population, and SWTOR's Legacy system pretty much forces many of us to have different genders on our alts if we want a true 'family tree' - until we get to a point where we get the ability to add other people's characters into our tree. Welcome one, welcome all - male, female, or whatever - the world would be a much duller place without all of you. Even the trolls
