  1. Yeah, seems pretty stupid. Perhaps you should just jump into the required number of matches to get him, and simply just sit there and do nothing. And when those who think this is ok, or how it's no big deal on the forums start raging about why their team sucks and aren't trying, perhaps it will sink in to them how this is bad for everyone.
  2. Good post, and you are right. In looking at this after the fact, I see where I went wrong...but at the time I acted thinking differently. It's easy to see now under the microscope and hindsight, but wasn't at the time to me anyway. To me it looked like the 4 item rewards were the exclusives tied to dates, and that a sub was enough in that timeframe to at least get early access. My mistake as I see now. I think the reason for my acting on this email without scrutinizing it more closely was that I had a positive instant reaction each time I think of the game. This was built on buying all the other expacs, and enjoying them and loving the game. So trustwise, I guess I allowed myself to just pull the trigger and not chase an asterisk. That's the real damage here IMO. I had a layer of trust involved in TOR, which lead me to want to support what came in without reading as closely as I should have, which I now don't have. Not sure of theres a metric for that kind of positive response, but there should be. I'll read more closely in the future.
  3. Agreed. And when you honestly take a look at this, and see that people are finishing it as early as the exact same day they go it....well for Bioware/EA to be doubling down on making people wait 7 days makes no sense. Anyone who got early access is already done with the content for crying out loud. Nothing is spoiled for them by letting the other subscribers in. It's free to subs anyway...so nothing is lost by anyone, but much can be gained in the way of player retention and the feeling that they do infact care if some felt it was a misleading pitch. I think some of the community are cutting off their noses to spite their face, as shedding subscriptions in a game they are playing will sooner or later catch up with them. You always rally behind your fellow gamers IMO if you like the game you are all playing, even if you might not agree 100% with them, as bottom line, games like this need players in them. I used to see it a lot on Warhammer online when people would tell others "hey you should have read about the differences between magus and Bright Wizard"..it's your fault for picking the weak one. LOL...where's that game now? Im sure it felt good dotting down a Magus in 5 seconds while it lasted.
  4. Oh I know what it is. In this case it's someone who has Early Access...yet instead of being actually in the game enjoying said Access and content...you are here attacking people who didn't get early access. Why not go enjoy that content you have access to? See, heres another tip from an old man for you Knights to digest. You might think you are here supporting BW on this one, but what you are actually showing us is that the content you have access to cannot be THAt enjoyable, because it only dropped Tuesday...and you're here in the forums instead. At least people like myself have a reason to be here....why are you here? I don't see any BioWare Community tag on you. Who told you you should be out here dismissing other customers concerns? That my friend is a White Knight to me. Anyway, Got things to do...so have the last word if you will.
  5. Because it's what an adult does when they attack someone for reading something wrong, and calling them a loser...and then find out it was actually themselves. For the record, it was you who was wrong Mr Knight.
  6. So I assume that means you saw this and don't want to apologize to that other guy or admit you were wrong. There clearly is a "to" in the phrase which leads to confusion. They should have used the word "through". *********** white knights.
  7. Right under that what does it say? Keep in mind you called someone a loser and said there was no "to" in there.
  8. Likely not going to happen unfortunately. Like yourself I contacted CS through the ticket system. Got the same reply you did, and my follow up email wasn't even responded to. Nothing but silence, so I cancelled the sub. You would think that somewhere in their company there must be someone who realizes that grabbing a quick 40 bucks now at the expense of losing customers who spend a lot more is a bad marketing decision...but if so, I guess they were over ruled or in the minority. Got a few days left on the sub, so i'll try out the content and express my frustration on the forums in the meantime.
  9. Well said. Heck, myself I even had a week of vacation time from work to use up, so I took it to coincide with my early access which I thought I was all set for. What a big loser I am lol. Oh well. Shame on me for not reading the fine print I guess. They got my few months of sub, which was a Marketing win...but you can only burn so many bridges with a player base. I've cancelled mine for the time being, which in the end is all you can do as a subscriber. Companies only care about dollars. Perhaps I'll return down the road if something looks interesting, but I'll be sure to read the fine print next time. Sucks because I liked the game, but now feel cheated.
  10. It's not hard at all honestly, but people make mistakes, or they act on an email they received not realizing only some of the rewards are now available. Obviously there was something to this as the forums are littered with people in the same boat. if it was such a clear path, we simply wouldn't be here moaning about it in such numbers. No matter what side you fall on with this, that has to be acknowledged at least. The numbers don't lie. On top of this BW has admitted that some who should have had it , did not have it...so it really cannot be argued that this was handled poorly.
  11. It's not for you to say quite simply. Good for you that nothing has been spoiled, obviously that's just your take and not applicable to all. The only strawman here is people like you thinking you've been hired to defend BW. You haven't, and these posts are for Bioware, not you. So if you're happy...then go play the story, why are you here fielding anyones posts at all?
  12. Obviously by the amount of discussion that there is on this, those terms were not as clear as they should have been. And honestly, who creates an "early access" for something based around story anyway. The customers you are pitching "return to story" to, are exactly the type of consumers who don't want to hear about it second hand. Just a dumb decision from the get go IMO, especially if it's only available to subs anyway. Why create another division in the playerbase? If it's only available to subs, all subs should have had it at the same time.
  13. Story. This one was supposedly about story. It's not just a call of duty map that you can hit next week and still enjoy. A week can turn the excitement of a new story into it being spoiled as people run about the forums telling everyone what they liked, what they didn't like and what they had hoped for. meanwhile those of us who thought we did everything we had to do to be included in the first wave, get to have it spoiled for us. myself, I barely log into the game this week as I don't want people to spoile it, so in the end not only am I not able to experience the new story, but I've effectively not even been able to play the game which I have subbed for so it doesn't get ruined for me. Maybe reading and story are something people don't take to anymore, but imagine if you got a new book a week after everyone you knew had it. I dont expect all of the playerbase to understand this, but BW certainly should have with their returned focus on story.
  14. That's actually a couple bad signs for the content. Just came out and 1- you're already 65 and 2- Aren't interested enough in it to be there playing instead of the forums.
  15. Another one here. Took some vacation time this week to enjoy the early access....thinking I had it. Found out I didn't qualify for all 4 rewards...so I'm sitting out while others play. The way this was written sounded like the rewards were extra and on top of early access...not mandatory to have all 4 for early access. As others have stated, it feels like it was intentionally misleading. I've been playing this game since Beta, am a Founder and sometimes when life gets busy I stop my sub for a bit. I always come back for the new content, and tried to do so again. Re-subbed about two weeks too late for the Companion reward, but I didn't care...figured we had enough companions already. The important thing I thought as I was re-subbing, was the new content. A 7 day head start may not sound like a lot to ***** about...until you see people in general chat tossing spoilers around, and then it's ruined for you. Happened more than once playing the old content. I didn't want it to happen with the new stuff. This one was advertised and explained poorly.
