  1. Please name one MMO where you can get through content by doing... whatever it is you are doing that apparently isn't enough to survive solo content in SWTOR. Because I'm struggling to think of any. WoW? Nuh, there is plenty of difficult content, that game isn't solo friendly at all. Even in low level zones you can get your teeth smashed in sometimes thanks to level sync. ESO? Easier, but still more difficult than SWTOR in its current state. Neverwinter? Haven't played it in long while, but I don't recall it being this easy. So what are you basing your idea of a good game (MMO game, mind) on, exactly? I am enjoying it right now, thank you very much. You are the one complaining about how things are at the moment.
  2. Playing the game the way it was not intended to be played is not "having a choice". It is supposed to be played with gear, companions and certain abilities. Besides, you do have a choice: learn to play. Oh, right, you don't want to. Well, if you don't want to change your playstyle to get through solo content why should I, or anyone else who disagrees with you? You are the one who started this whole "take off your gear, dismiss your companion" thing, don't try to spin it back at me. What you are saying in this tread is, basically, that the game should be designed in a way that makes it fun to play for you personally, everyone else be damned. Shouldn't come as a surprise that many people won't agree with that stance. And no, I don't want to do challenging group content. Again, I'm not a hardcore player. I want solo content to be fun, and to me "fun" means "without scary sith lord bosses dying in 8 seconds after I used a single slah and a blade barrage".
  3. Are you for real? No, I don't want to not use my skills. I have them for a reason. You have them for a reason. Learn to use them (god, never thought I'd say this).
  4. Did you even read their post? Their companions are already on passive (which is the same as having them dismissed in terms of usefulness). And gear doesn't mean jack while you are leveling, you can defeat class bosses just as easily without a single piece of armor.
  5. This tread has been a very interesting read. I always considered myself to be a hyper casual player. I don't like challenge. Even when the game had more people playing it, I rarely bothered to do any ops of group fp. But I don't notice any significant differences between 6.0 and pre-6.0?.. Since 6.0 dropped, I've ran all the fp that have story mode except for Black Talon. The only problem I encountered was HK-47 fight in Foundry, he dished out such a ridiculous amount of damage that I suspect he might be broken (he didn't do that before 6.0). Then there was Shae Vizla in the Rishi fp who was the first one since HK-47 to ever make me use a healing station or two during the fight. Everything else was as easy as before. Companions I used were around ~15 affection level, not 50. My characters were, more or less, of the level required to do each specific flashpoint (15 for Esseless, 35 for Taral V, 55-60 for False Emperor, etc). Regular mobs took longer to kill, and so did some of the bosses. I can see how that might be a problem. Spending a lot of time to cleave through endless crowds of strongs is simply boring. But difficult, it was not. In fact, sometimes it was comically easy. Yesterday I got knocked off the bridge in Taral V and had to wait somewhere below it until my companion (affection level 15) and combat support droid killed an entire pack of mobs by themselves. It tooked them about 1 minute. During another fight I lagged so badly, they basically killed the boss on their own. I suspect I could just let them carry me through the entire flashpoint without trouble, even though it would take a lot of time without my damage input. So I really don't understand where exactly people are having difficulties in story mode? Most of the time it's hard to get yourself killed even if you try on purpose, because your companion and combat support bot will keep you healed. Some bosses require some movement, like getting out of red circles on the ground or not standing in fire, but thats about it. Again, I'm not a hardcore player, not by a long shot. But... what the heck is happening in your story mode if you can't beat it? Outside of a few things that are outright broken, like Zakuulan walkers, everything should be doable.
  6. Actually, this one female Knights do get. Kira says this line after Doc tries to hit on the Knight for the second or third time.
  7. It probably was, considering his conversation with injured Arcann in "Brothers" short tale (where Thexan promises to ever follow and support Arcann no matter what). It's just that in my opinion, a good brother, and a good person, would rather try to talk their loved ones out of doing bad stuff instead of blindly following them because, well, it's my brother.
  8. I think you're forgetting the part where goody goody Thexan laughed at his worried mother for "beeing week" and went on a massive killing spree on a few Republic and Empire planets that had done literally nothing to Zakuul. He seems calmer than Arcann, more sure of himself, but that alone doesn't make him lightsided. Edit. Okay, I see that you aren't forgetting that part But my point still stands: Thexan was totally okay with Arcann's idea to wage war on sith and jedi simply to prove themselves to their father. Yes, that was their reason, I believe it's even stated in the codex. They weren't defending anything, they just wanted to show Valkorion how cool they were.
  9. Yes they do. My knight asked T7 about Doc and Kira at least once, when they were coming back to Zakuul with Senya. And my agent asked Scorpio about the rest of the crew during their first meeting in chapter 7. Can't say anything about other classes, though.
  10. Okay, now I'm really curious. I thought it was a bug, too. But after getting the letters on my agent and knight (both married) and NOT getting them on my smuggler and warrior, I'm not so sure anymore. But I agree that if that's how it's written, then it's not all that nice. I was only okay with it because I've been trying to set my smuggler free from Corso's grasp for a reeeeally long time. And with Quinn, when you refuse him, at least it does look like you are through. I wonder if anyone can confirm receiving the letter from, say, Doc if you tell him 'No' while still staying in a relationship? Or from any other characters that don't break up with you over your decision not to marry them.
  11. Sorry, I should have been more specific. I tried breaking it off on Rishi myself and saw the result, but my question was about imperial characters' Yavin only, since unlike pubs, they have to break up at that point anyway, with the truce being over and all that. At the end of Yavin they get an option either to kiss Theron or to tell him to go away. And it doesn't look like they are no longer interested at all. More like "You are not defecting, my heart is broken, and I need some time alone, you %#$#@!!" But I guess it is still counted as a breakup.
  12. This probably has been discussed already, but... So far I only get these letters on my characters who not only had romanced someone, but also had gotten married. Looks like a pattern. If you romance them but refuse to marry them, they think you are through. Which was absolutely fine by me. By the way, did anyone try to flirt with Theron on Rishi and Yavin, but conclude it with "Go away before I come to my sences and kill you"? I know that you'll get no flirting options on Ziost after that, but I wonder if he stills sends the letter. Probably not, but would be nice to know for sure.
  13. Pre 2.0 it was definetely agent's chapter 1 final boss. Never managed to kill him on my own, had to call a guildmate for help. The fact that you have to beat him three blasted times, not one, also didn't help. Not sure if that boss is still as difficult. So pre 4.0 I'd vote for sith inquisitors very last boss. I lost count of the times I had to run out the Dark Council chambers to avoid being killed I think I tried all my companions one by one until I finally succeeded with Ashara.
  14. Actually, as far as the Knights know Arcann does care. If you tell Tanek and Novo to go arest their new Emperor for killing the old one, Tanek goes all "How dare you!" and tells you that Arcann cried his remaining eye out mourning his daddy.
  15. Well, my point was, I don't like Samara exactly for her code being that strong that she can go kill her own children. Yes, I realise that she mourned Morinth in her own way, and that she prefered suicide over killing her other daughter in ME3, but Senya still looks more human, more real to me.
