  1. Compared to an existing server, how is the performance? Overall performance was substantially enhanced due to much lower latency (generally 38-42 ms cf 240-360 on North American servers). Occasionally ping was 38-59 ⏩ ⏩ which is still amazing speed for Straya, meaning no lag in abilities, much more enjoyable content - especially PVP and GSF. Both very enjoyable at such low latency, but not at usual lag on NA servers. What region/country do you reside in? APAC - Australia (outback Queensland) Provide a comparison of ping from existing servers to Shae Vizla. Generally 38-42 ms cf 240-360 on NA servers (see details below). Is grouped content working properly? Yes, smooth as silk, no glitches. FP popped within 5 minutes (Tuesday, 9pm AEST). Essels FP completed on Veteran with full group. No glitches for me. One team mate saw me upside in an elevator, one other had weird graphics when loading. Ping was 38-59 during the FP. Usually 260-320 (plus DCs) on Satele Shan. Team mate from UK ping was about 400 (much worse for them), from Bangladesh 150 (usually 200+). GSF did not pop at L80 over 4 days (at various times, usually evening) until Saturday evening (about 10.30pm). Full compliment of players. Game as smooth as silk, no glitches. Ping was 37-42ms. PVP did not pop at L80 over 4 days (at various times, usually evening), did pop for lowbies (L10) Saturday evening (Arena at about 11.30 pm). 3 vs 3 round 1, then 4 vs 3 round 2 and 3. Game as smooth as silk, no glitches. Ping was 37-42ms. South African team mate had ping slower than 400ms. How quickly can you get into a match or Flashpoint you’ve accepted? No delays accessing GSF or PVP once the que had popped. Is travel to any location (planet, Stronghold, Fleet, etc…) hindered? No. Levelled a Trooper to L10 on Ord Mantel (sniper discipline) through story, planetary and heroic missions - no glitches or bugs at all. Chose a second discipline - no glitches. Completed Space Mission Fondor Escort with no bugs. Improved ping made all missions and content smoother than usual. No problems travelling to worlds via map, or to strongholds. Are there any issues with the UI such as missing assets or loss of functionality? No noticeable loss of assets etc in UI. Are there any issues with visuals or sounds with the cinematics? No issues with visuals, sounds or cinematics.

  3. Guess what Trixxie? "Steam Deck starts shipping February 2022" (refer to steamdeck.com)
  4. I think your assumptions are out. There is no way SWTOR would be still supported, let alone receiving new content, if the annual income is only $142,000. That would not even pay for Keith. We do know that it has earned in excess of $1 billion so far (NB not profit or turn-over, just income). That averages more than $100 million per annum. I think the current income is anyone's guess unless it is reported by EA at some stage. Edit - update based on the poster's edit: even an estimate of $1.7 million per annum seems too low based on previous publicly available information. I suspect it would also be too low for EA to invest in updates. However, this is pure speculation on my behalf.
  5. A couple of posters have pointed out Steam Deck compatibility in other threads. I agree - designing SWTOR to be compatible with the Steam platform's hand-held game platform seems like the most rational reason for the redesign. The timing is right (December 2021 release). The platform is right (SWTOR continues to receive very favourable reviews on Steam, and reputedly gave the game a good boost in player numbers). The sales are right (the Steam Deck pre-sales are sold out into 2022). I bet my new casino shades that the main reason for the redesign is to launch on the Steam Deck, and the PTS feedback is to try and work out how to keep each class 'feel' whilst at the same time meeting the design requirements for the Deck (I can't find defined information on the number buttons, key binding options etc). All Steam games (and any PC game for that matter) will play on the Deck. I assume the most successful games will be the ones that play well on the controller of the Deck. https://gamerant.com/steam-deck-2021-sold-out/ (PS please ignore my outdated signature. I might change it one day...)
  6. I also support all of these suggestions - they are constructive ideas that would make a positive change to conquest. We need more options to play the game in ways that we each find fun - and that varies considerably between different players. I don't post very often, but it's import to chime in when we see suggestions that we would like implemented.
  7. I just tried it as well. I am on a 180 day recurring sub, and I could not access it either, even though I was also logged into the forum page. It shall remain an eternal mystery edit - mystery solved (see above)
  8. Maybe 3.600 years or so feels like 'only a few years' to an "Old Buzzard"?
  9. Well, I stand corrected. I took the level bracket changes e.g. “Tython: Mission Complete” is now available for the 10-49 Level Bracket(s) (change from 10-49,50-70,71+) to mean that level 71+ would no longer receive conquest points for Tython, and other lower bracket missions. Having just tested it by running Tython plus harvesting and a rank up or two, I made my personal target. I must say that I am now happy with the conquest changes so far. Well done BW. Also glad to see they have come back and corrected their typos, which is what this thread was really about.
  10. I have to agree, clarity is essential and perhaps my reply was slightly too snide - Bioware should adhere to high standards and proof read their patch notes before publishing them.
  11. Level 71+ are now locked out of most of those conquest activities anyway, so a few typos are pretty much irrelevant ...
  12. I am honoured to have you respond to my post Ol Buzz. You are one of the forum's mainstays, and i always enjoy reading your well-reasoned and rational contributions. I don't post much, but I read a lot ... this is one of the few times I thought it was worth trying to make a constructive contribution. PS Off-topic, I think I am more of an OlWedgetail myself ...
  13. Thank you. These points I agree with. This is a very positive and constructive case to make. This is a negative and destructive way to make a statement, and appears to have lead to nerfing of planetaries, which has made the game less enjoyable for me (I do not know about other players, and I do not pretend to speak on their behalf). Could we perhaps agree that 'GSF, PvP and Uprisings do not award conquest points commensurate with other content, and should be increased so players can be similarly rewarded for the content they choose to play'?
  14. I have read all of your posts. In every thread. You have repeatedly asked for planetaries to be nerfed. The main tenet of your argument has not been to present constructive ways for your chosen playstyle to become more attractive to other players. The main tenet has been to ask for other playstyles to be nerfed. You have repeatedly attacked people who disagreed with you. I posted, despite being certain you would attack me. I have asked you - specifically - to be constructive because your destructive approach has directly impacted my playstyle. I want you to realise there are consequences for choosing to be constructive or destructive in these forums. Perhaps you genuinely do not realise that you are asking for other people's enjoyment to be reduced. Perhaps you genuinely do not realise that you are being destructive. Perhaps you genuinely do not realise that by repeatedly stating that (paraphrased in my words, not yours) 'planetaries are overpowered' this would lead to them being nerfed. I have appealed direct to you, as my pathway to conquest has been diminished by your solo-person campaign. Yes, I can choose missions that have a bonus attached, which achieves two missions completions in one. That is not the point. The point is that I can no longer play any planetary that I choose and receive the same rewards compared with prior to your solo-person anti-planetary campaign. I am now funnelled into doing quests that I don't particularly want to do. Previously I could do any that took my whim at the time. I can no longer play my way. This is why I have appealed direct to you on the forums. I want you to realise that the prosecution of your case in a destructive manner has made it worse for at least one other player. Please start to present a constructive case that can benefit every playstyle.
  15. Stradlin. Stop. Please. You are ruining conquest and the game for other players. BW have literally made it twice as hard to gain points through planetary missions, by doubling the number of missions required. Please focus on providing constructive suggestions to encourage other people to play the parts of the game that you like, instead of being destructive towards parts of the game that others like. Dasty, Kendra, Trixxie, Ol' Buz, Lhanc, Cynical Steve and many others are trying to be constructive and add to the player experience. Please keep this up. You have silent supporters out here. I am only one forum reader - but I suspect there are many like myself who read and rarely post unless we feel strongly enough about something. For me, that is enjoying the freedom to play at my own pace, at times that suit me, for as short or long a session that I choose, and still be rewarded through conquest. BW's nerfing of the planetary conquest missions, which appears to be in response to your anti-planetary campaign, has diminished my enjoyment of the game. Please. Stop. Stradlin.
