  1. It's an intriguing idea, though getting character xp from space missions can be very helpful. I've been able to skip planet bonus missions as a result. hmmm Maybe some sort of combination?
  2. No, I think the point was to help people get to 50 so they could jump right into the new expansion. Of course many of us already have several toons there already, but what *I* did was skip the side missions. I pretty much did the class story and the main planet mission line and left the rest. It made gearing a bit of a challenge, but at 50 you get all new gear anyway. I got a sentinel to 50 and left every mission on Correlia doing it besides the class missions. So when the new expansion starts, I can always go back and finish those for XP as a bit of a head start. I hope anyway.
  3. Sentinel Marauder Sniper Assassin Smuggler Bounty Hunter Juggernaut Sorcerer Sage Probably anyway. I figure I'll be about 150 years old when I'm finished, but it will sure be fun!
  4. That's exactly right. It requires a slight rethinking in strategy, but you can make a lot of credits keeping it at about lvl 40 or below. The crafting mats alone are rediculously priced at times on the GTN. Something tells me things aren't going to remain like this anyway. I'd be surprised if we didn't see some major changes by/at the expansion.
  5. I can understand the frustration. Many of us that have been subscribers since the beginning see it. However, keep in mind that these steps they are talking are literally to keep this mmo alive at all. They're going to make mistakes, and hopefully they'll fix them. You're right in everything you're saying, it's just the reality is, they are between a rock and a hard oplace. Hopefully, they'll see things like these posts and get it right. Time will tell. In the mean time, I still make a crap load of credits from farming.
  6. I was actually looking for the specific stats on Legacy Orbital Strike, but I thought I'd give my two cents on this, Though if anyone knows how it works I would appreciate it. Do the stats increase with level? I haven't been able to tell. Now, as far as this discussion goes: I've leveled 2 classes to 50 and am working on a 3rd. I currently have legacy orbital strike, and force choke. Along with coordination, and unnatural might, these absolutely give my new Sith Socerer a marked advantage in leveling. However, it was earned! I love legacy abilities. The whole idea is great. It gives you an incentive to explore the game from many angles, As far as the powerful abilities go, such as orbital strike and force choke, they are tempered by their use limitation. Essentially I save them for bosses, and those rare times I get ambushed by an elite or something. So, for those who say they are too much. Don't use them then. For those who say they are not enough, I disagree, They are tempered fairly imo.
  7. Lets try this again in the right forum. I just turned 50 today, and respec'd from vengeance to immortal 31/10/0. I ran the Voss bonus series to get to 50 and to give some easy practice with the new spec and I like it! However, I hear a lot about skill builds and very little about secondary stats. Right now I have all custom armor that concentrates on endurance over strength (Guardian basically,) and then crit strike/surge rating. The idea being the added threat from the crit strikes, (I also have legacy coordination from a lvl 50 sniper which adds 5% crit strike anyway.) This seems to be working out, though I wonder if I should perhaps change over to shield/absorption instead. Some have said holding aggro should be no problem if you play it right, but if I give up crit strike for defense I'm not so sure. Sure the extra damage is nice but even without a relic I'm at 33%/75% crit/surge which means 1 in 3 hits are substantial threat generators. Decisions!! the point is, it will be expensive and take quite a bit of work to switch over and I certainly don't want to waste the resources if it's not worth it. On the other hand, as I go from here and upgrade my gear further, I always have the option of changing. SO, after that lengthy explanation, how do some of the rest of you play it? Do you even concern yourself with those secondary stats?
  8. Baras was a pushover compared to lord Draal or whatever...I don't know if he got buffed in some update or not but he is immune to all debilitating affects..force choke, force push, intimidating roar..Nothing worked on that guy! Once I realized that I was able to build a strategy that avoided those abilities, but it was still difficult even at level 50. Baras on the other hand was relatively easy. Those who say they beat Lord Draahl at level 47...Yeah, I'd like to have seen that. With regards to Baras, like has been stated earlier, the key is to keep interrupting and make damned sure you keep him off whatever companion you use. I actually used Pierce. I know many of you like Quinn, but I have better luck with a ranged DPS over a healer.
  9. Thank you all for your responses. Certainly some things to consider. I was thinking about it and I DO have an imperial agent sniper level 50..pure DPS all the way..It might not be a bad idea to pull them out, run a few heroics, flashpoints etc, and get a feel for it before trying to tank it. By the way, for anyone who has not enjoyed the blessing of legacy abilities, having a juggernaut with orbital strike, even when it can only be used during heroic moment has been huge! I highly recommend leveling an agent just for that! anyway, I digress! Thanks again!
  10. Sounds reasonable, and I will read that sticky right now. Absolutely! My entire fighting style will have to change and that will take time to get used to. My plan is to take Jaesa out and run the Illum dailies solo. Once I can run them smoothly and keep Jaesa alive in the process I'll give it a try in a group. It will allow me to upgrade my gear a bit too. I'm also is a guild, so I don't have to pug my first couple of times. I can take some people who will have mercy on me if I screw up. Thanks!
  11. I have a Sith Juggernaut getting ready to turn level 50 very soon. I want to use this character as a pure tank and start running some flashpoints/heroics, etc . To this point I've been a solo PvE player to the point I literally have 1 social point. My leveling spec is all vengeance concentrating on strength over endurance and crit strike/surge rating . I chose that to make leveling go faster. Seemed to make sense as a solo player. Obviously that will need to change. I have narrowed it down to two basic builds. Skill will obviously be immortal and I'll re-mod my armor and light saber to concentrate on endurance over strength, but that leaves me with a question. Power is obviously out, which leaves crit strike or defense. If I go defense rating/shield absorption with an immortal skill build and a high endurance, my survivability should be great, but I worry about generating threat. If I go crit/surge my survivability drops but my ability to generate threat should be much better. Thoughts? How do you guys do it?
