  1. I was so excited and happy about this update. Until of course I realized BioWare couldn't possibly plan and implement anything so good. We can wish though...
  2. People paying for name changes have not finished sifting through the available name choices yet. I'm sure, once it's clear no one is left who is willing to pay for it, the free name change will be made available. We cant let subscribers get first crack at a free name change, when someone is willing to pay up for one.
  3. Theron, your post makes me think you are either obtuse or just trolling. 1. I think all of us have rage quit once or twice as a result of bad PUGs, back-filling, or whatever. However, rage quitting as a result of YOUR OWN FAILED STRATEGY is a whole different can of worms. “My 4 man pre-made attempted a lowbie strategy and it failed against another competent 4 man pre-made! QQ rage quit!” sad, sad, sad, indeed. 2. Win trading is NOT equal to Kickball. If your one of the ignorant left out minority, and not sure what Kickball is, it is a match of 16 people who pick sides and slug it out in a ranked match. Each side does their level best to win, and at the end, often (but not always) teams are re-picked. This is VERY different than win trading which involves NO real effort to win and an attempt to end the ranked warzone ASAP so the next win trade can begin. For the record, Guerrilla has never participated in win trading. Anyone who claims otherwise is a flat out liar. We have often played kickball, including other guilds and peeps when no ranked completion was queuing. These kickball matches were some of the most hard fought games as NOONE wanted to lose! So in closing Theron wake-up, no one has exploited win trading on TEH until the Watchman arrived. Congrats on your server first guys, be proud!
  4. Yesterday was one my first experiences in a warzone with a Watchman 4 man premade. I may have been up against them in the past and just not paid attention to the tags (as many of you know from Illum, I often Force Charge first and look at names second). Nevertheless, it was an interesting Civil War match, as the Watchmen committed hard to taking our natural turret early. Another Guerrilla and I were sent to cap & block for our natural, which kept the 3 enemy (all of which I believe were Watchmen) at bay for some time. Within a couple of minutes our team capped the enemy’s natural, and then the middle turret. A heated fight remained on our natural for another couple of minutes, until we finally had a triple cap on them. It was at this time we got the ‘warzone shutting down message’ as the Watchmen premade rage quit the match. In the end, the enemy team got backfilled so the warzone continued. In fact I feel sorry for Luddott (who I believe is a good player and a good guy) as he was part of the back-fill for this failed opening attempt. Even so, Luddott to his credit stuck it out and gave as good as he got. With the reports of win trading, and IMO even worse, the practice of immediately LEAVEING ranked matches against other teams, because they weren’t a part of their ranked-com exploitation plan, this rage quitting as a result of their own failed strategy seems to give a glimpse as to "what they're about".
  5. This would make me cry. As it is now, I sometimes wonder what the 4 PUGs on our side are doing in Huttball, and here in this video the sorc has 4 enemy occupied most of the time trying to death-match him. I love playing objectives and overall I think people on TEH do a fair job. Sometimes I and others come off a bit harsh (idiot being a favorite word) in ops chat when some Nubish person runs off leaving a Pylon empty, or is death-matching in front of a turret while it's being capped, or generally not paying any attention to the overall situation. I assure you there is a real desire to point out poor strats/play, so the team/person can avoid repeating the mistake. Of course some never learn (nor do they want to learn), but this video takes the cake. On a side note I very much agree with Jerc about Huttball. It too is my favorite WZ and I would indeed pay $15 a month extra for a HB league. In fact I think BioWare is foolish for not having a second HB map by this time.
  6. Give it a rest already, and get off of Mort's butt over this. He has already owned up to, and made his reasons clear. You also might want to keep in mind LOTS of people apply to Guerrilla each and every week. Virtually all get turned down. Just ask Raando how many whispers, requests, and applications he gets. The fact that Mort was accepted, says something about his ability and potential.
  7. LOL Silentstorm once again delivers wonderful insight!
  8. I think many of you are missing the real reason this system was made this way. With one slot and multiple dye mods required, this maximizes the possible CC revenue for BioWare. If you simplify the process with two slots, or make dye mods no longer consumable, it would negatively affect CC revenue. Personally, this doesn't bother me too much. I have not spent a dime on CC and still have close to 8000 of them on my account. I also have almost everything that CC can buy, which was purchased from the GTN using credits. Keep in mind customer convenience and common sense take a back seat to CC revenue.
  9. "Let the buyer beware" Given BioWare's past conduct, and its propensity for doing things to maximize CC profit at the expense of player convenience or even common sense, I could tell at first glance that name change feature was rigged in BioWare's favor. A “Pay first, figure the details out later” approach. A truly benevolent company who appreciated its customers would make the functionality work much like the OP suggested. However, this is not how BioWare operates. A further case in point is the delayed access to the promised free name change for subscribers; not until after PAID name changes have had first go at the available pool of names will subscribers be able to glean through what’s left at some future, yet to be announced, date. Some of us were crafty enough to see the sleight of hand, and used various methods to check name availability BEFORE making a purchase. How nice it would be if BioWare had a basic ethic principle of “Do Good”, and made this feature function the way the appearance change feature worked: test all the changes you wish to make to your appearance first, and when your satisfied with your choice you press the CONFIRM PURCHASE button to pay for it. But alas the principal of the day seems to be “Suck Them Dry”.
  10. No doubt he had 10 pvp vendor weapons in his inventory (which still had the refund timer) that he sold back once he hit 55 and could begin buying Partisan gear.
  11. You don't. You must fist wait for everyone who is PAYING to rename their toons to go first. Then at a later date, after paying customers (paying with CC that is) have had first crack at available names, you will then get your free name change in a future patch.
  12. The answer is simple; having two slots would reduce the number of different types of Dye Mods and therefore reduce the amount of CC spent to find the exact combination you want. This way you spend more money & time than you otherwise would.
  13. Well said, I agree completely. Something must be done. Even months after the forced name changes (and the silly double-sided rules used to dictate which account got to keep a name during the two mergers) I am still upset over this, and I think about this issue every time I log into my main character with its implanted '. On my server, the level 11 toon with my name canceled his subscription BEFORE the mergers, yet got to keep the name. During F2P he logged in the first week and has not be on since. Yet I and many like me are still paying for BioWare's total screw up. Why did I buy the CE that first night it was announced again? Oh that's right so I could be slapped in the face 6 months after launch. "sucker"
  14. What fool would spend real money to buy so many coins and have no clue what to do with them? /boggle
