  1. Just recently discovered lightning and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Took some clips from about 1hr worth of regs and put together a video, hope ppl like it
  2. Would you rather: Hit for 100 dmg every hit and crit for 175 once every 6 hits Or Hit for 70 dmg every hit and crit for 122 once every 4 hits? You argue that surge is nothing without crit chance. I argue that surge is also nothing without damage. Given that your surge is a constant and the issue is crit vs power - power mathematically gives you better returns than crit.
  3. Same thing here, all my toons over level 50 are locked.
  4. Smashers get undying on a 45 second cooldown for 5 sec duration which costs only 25% of current HP. Some aren't even using it at low HP, just any time to mitigate incoming burst. OP must be even more mad now.
  5. lol Dukhat is a sent, people with 2 lightsabers tend to be dps you know?
  6. I think its safe to say that Core is currently the strongest they've ever been in terms of players, composition, teamwork, and dedication to the game. Midian on the other hand has been on a gradual decline with the leaving of players and constant turnover. Out of the original 8-10 players that secured Midian its reputation in pvp many months ago, only 2 remain and they rarely log on to play. It's sad that we aren't able to see an epic showdown between Core's current A team vs. Midian's A team back in the day consisting of Primate, Limbonic, Ward, Pom, Lammaz/Yellowx, Davito, Kei and Forebearance. That may well change come 2.0 and hopefully many of these players will return. On the topic of advanced gameplay. Swtor's game mechanics may be simple but the skill ceiling is high. There are always ways to improve your gameplay, and those who refuse to improve and adapt are quickly left behind. An example from chatting with Jeck last week: If pyro PT's are so easy to play and only need 2 buttons, then why is Ward on a whole different level to the rest? Any scrub can spam flame burst and railshot. Not everyone can time taunts to anticipate incoming burst, spread combustible dot on different targets while autoattacking, and utilize grapple and thermal detonator for optimum effect. While at the same time calling targets for the team, constantly being aware of positioning, etc etc. Anyone can spam smash and do decent damage, but not everyone can be on a ball carrier while keeping an eye on intercept targets, keeping healing debuffs on healers, tab interrupting important casts, tab executing low targets, while at the same time trying to position to be smashing multiple targets to maximise dps without massively overextending. I'm quite bad at multitasking myself and its something I've had to slowly work at. IMO the easier a class appears to play, the harder it is to set yourself apart from the rest. The main thing that sets Core apart from any other team we've played is their strong positioning and peeling. Reaching the healers without massively overextending is almost impossible with a 2 mara 2 PT dps lineup. Pretty much this. At the highest level of play, going straight for the healers will rarely work, especially with a short range dps lineup. So many PTs overextend and die its not funny. As a mara I have many more escape tools but it's always a struggle treading the fine line between aggression and overextending, and when my camo/UR are on cooldown its a much more cautious/defensive play. Interestingly, the LOS and focus peel strat is what Pink has always referred to as Killbox/peelbox strat that she's been preaching since before swtor existed probably. It has constantly been dismissed by most teams she's played with as something that's easy to theorycraft on paper but not viable in practice. Now everyone can see how effectively it works when employed by a team like Core with the coordination and teamwork needed to execute it.
  7. Did you not see the math posted earlier or just slow? With full expertise if you do 100 base damage, expertise increases that to 160 outgoing damage against players. If the player you are hitting has 0 expertise they are going to get hit for 160. If the target also has full expertise then the incoming damage if 160 will be reduced by 37.5%... Which is 100 back where we started.
  8. Just duelled proxxii for a good 2 hours on the PTS. It was incredibly fun, very dynamic duels, lots of clutch moves and counters. Dual saber throw comes in extremely useful, especially when he rolls away after I jump to him. At level 55 in EWH gear I have about 22.7k HP. Smash is critting for 6k, vicious throw 6k, dual saber throw 4k. Getting hit by ambush and takedown for 5-6k too. As carnage spec its hard to look out for the slaughter buff, probably worth putting gore and vicious throw on a separate toolbar and making it 200% size or something just to track the proc. Bit concerned about false proccing as it only procs once every 20 sec.
  9. Looking forward to the games between Wookie Leaks and Pandemic on Monday.
  10. To repeat on my previous post: Midian appears to be largely inactive atm in terms of pvp. Since 1.7 whenever I log on there are rarely more than 4 members online. Obiray my rating is 1400 on my mara and 1050 on my sent, don't think I'm gonna get far with my epeen there Many of us remaining are (and have always been) keen to play. My sent is already playing for core 2 and I know raken played for pandemic on monday. EDIT: can't speak for jump apparently
  11. Midian is fairly inactive in terms of pvp at the moment and we don't really have a team. Many aren't keen to play and rarely log on, and many have left and are playing other games.
  12. Was by no means intentional haha, I thought Thyra was part of the other team and only happened once... Will take note of the commentator's name next time
  13. Had an interesting idea while on the can this morning. +10% damage/healing and/or 10% damage resistance buff every time you get stunned, 10 sec duration, stackable to 5 stacks. The values are tweakable of course, could be 1%, 2% or 5% for the conservative. But the idea is to give a player who is still somehow alive after being stunlocked a chance to dish out some retribution. inb4 how about just nerf bubble instead cos who isn't sick of those posts
