Greetings folks, First, let me say i'm a total newbie when it comes to the Mercenary/Commando and i know little about your class. However i am starting to get interested in playing a fighter/healer class. Since i already have an Imperial Agent (Sniper), it would be a waste to roll another, and i dont feel like playing a neonstick wielding emo-sith. That leaves the Mercenary as the only class that could perhaps fit my requirements. Does anyone happen to know if Mercs have any specs that allow them to combine shooting stuff with healing stuff in PvP?

Hey folks, I'm not too familiar with all the gear that's available in the game, but i'd really love to have some sort of orange armored jacket with a long overcoat on top of it. I believe i saw a green quality jacket/coat like this around level 36 but i'd rather have one i can keep using up to and including when i'm L50. So anyone know where to get a fancy orange jacket/coat? (And no i dont mean the jacket/coat needs to be orange in colour, one look at Carth Onasi from KOTOR1 will show you how bad that looks. )

Thanks for the answers and i do agree that Snipe is the better of the two, and while mobile it's better to use frag grenades between rifle shots.

Fellow Imperial Engineers, do you prefer to use Snipe, or Overload Shot as your 'energy dump' while your probes are on cooldown?

I think the only reason why Yoda and Sidious fought with lightsabers is because of 'epicness'. Flashy, fast acrobatics are a lot more exciting to watch for the common movieviewer than two people tossing pieces of metal back and forth. It's the same reason why you see giant robots with huge fraking guns pull out swords and shields and fight in melee combat in the transformers movies. And it's the same reason why Gandalf uses a stick AND a sword in LOTR, insted of just throwing Orcs in the air with his angelic wizardy powers. (Though ill admit the wizard vs wizard battles looked kinda neat.)

Suddenly i got this mental image of Eric Cartman from South Park playing with and talking to his dolls. I guess that's what Bioware RPG's are about lol.

On my server Ula VII, the least played Empire classes are Powertech and Sniper. Operative tends to score slightly higher on average. Top classes are of course Sorcerer and Assassin....sadly. (I base this on random occasional /who polls as i like playing less popular classes like you. )

So, basically Mercs get shields, heavy armor and heals. Mercs are the new "OMG PLATE, BUBBLE AND HEALZ!" ? ^_^

Mine thinks the Sith (And Jedi) are a bunch of loonies and that the Force is just overrated and the cause of a lot of needless suffering and endangerment to the empire and it's citizens.

My IA is grey with a touch of light side. Sadly there are no 'bonuses' or anything for being neutral. My IA can be compassionate, especially for innocent bystanders and preventing wars and mass slaughters, but when someone pisses him (me) off, there shall be wise-cracking sarcastic comments and executions.

Even though i'm pretty much your standard 'run-of-the-mill' player i tend to top damage lists with my sniper in WZ's, wether im engineer or marksman.

I rerolled from a L23 Operative to a, now, L35 Sniper.... *cries helmet full of tears* Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

This may be a often repeated question, but i have trouble finding the answer on these forums: Is there a MM PvP build that you people found very succesful at L50?

it's funny, i was thinking about a 'Combat Engineer / Grenadier' build similiar to this the other day. Good to see i'm not the only one who likes to toss around explosives and use his sniper rifle as a impromptu blaster-shotgun with Overload Shot. I actually might give this a try in a few levels.
