He's ridiculous fist fighting. He has a weapons slot but anything I try to put in there says that I can't use that. He won't take a saber either. Am I doing something wrong or is the droid just no good for fighting?

I'm at around 65 in UWT and have never received a schematic. Do those come at higher levels?
