  1. What he said ^ However, long fights will make you run out of force, the optimal madness rotation is actually force negative. For progression opperations i'd personally use either hybrid or madness, for fights I know inside out I use lightning, cause it keeps me on my toes where the others are just boring.
  2. Its probably flukes then. As you most likely know sorcs and sages have 10% base defence chance, and you have ~1.15% chance to miss, so for "white" attacks thats over 11% chance they won't connect, unless I'm missing something. If your being stunned while entrench is up my guess is its probably lag (servers are pretty crap tbh) or some bug. All I can say is if I'm caught off guard by a sniper on my sorc, I'm dead within 5 seconds. If I catch an unaware sniper, it'll take me roughly 20 seconds to kill it using LoS. Also there' s the bubbles absorbing around 4k (hearsay, I don't know the formula) and the selfheal that can crit for 4k, which is on the GcD so in a standoff fight, its meaningless.
  3. Seen some posts in here saying TTK is in a good place. No offence meant, but I want whatever you're smoking! Lets take an average healthpool of ~20k for non tank builds, in pretty much optimized gear. (1200+ expertise etc..) 5k hits are very common, most classes can pump out 2-3 in a row without much hassle. When the stars allign, some classes can run you down in 5-6 GcD's, granted with a little RnG luck. Some classes have superb survivability tools that can draw out the TTK, other classes do not. On my PT I can pretty much obliterate squishy's in absolutely no time. Knights/warriors can do the same, as can snipers, and an assassin can rip you a new hole before you knew what happened to. Anyway, not to rant (much) but in allot of situations people die before they even had a chance to react properly. Thats not just down to silly amounts of burst (5k hits on 20k healthpools) but also the (imo) flawed resolve system. A 4 second stun, considering 1 player alone can take over a quarter of your health in a single GcD seems rather silly. You can't say TTK in tor is in a good place and really mean it, unless you want PvP to play like an FpS with "BOOM HEADSHOT" every other second. I'd be quite happy if they toned down ALL the burst a little, and I really think that alone could make PvP more enjoyable.
  4. lol. 4-5k deathfields and 5k force lightnings. Hahaha.
  5. The difference between going full expertise and swapping some stuff around for power and stuff is really small, atleast on paper if you do the math. There's other threads around (probably in the PvP section) with graphs and stuff. The newest trend seems to be going full out on power, remodding most of your stuff to heavy power, I guess it gives the Illusion of slightly more burst, or maybe they're just trying to get 5k deathfields.
  6. Using shock regularly in your rotation will drain your forcebar really fast in allot of encounters (As madness). I wouldn't reccomend it for fights >1 minute.
  7. Against a sorc, most of a PT's abilities can be counted as an execute. 3-4k detonators, 4.5-6k railshots, etc..
  8. Its amazing how easy it all really is, isn't it? That makes perfect sense, but it hasn't happened. The dev team is understaffed or incompotent, or both. Lack of survivability, lack of burst and lack of porper, reliable snares (outside spamming FL, which you can't) arn't even the only issues, but also the fact that a few interupts render us close to useless. This goes for Madness, lightning and madness/lightning hybrid. If you can't spam FL as madness all thats left is hide/run and tab dot which is what happens 90% of the time, hense the "fluffed damage scores" are there. Ofcourse if you want to run out of force within 20 seconds you can also throw in some shocks that crit for an amazing 2k, which seems to be less then what other classes abilities do without even critting. The same can be said for lightning. If 1 Melee is on you with their silly burst and excess amount of interupts, whats left to do?
  9. In a warzone theres little chance of kiting, its not 1v1. And even if you can kite and kill that marauder its going to take you ages, time is not a luxury you have in objective based PvP. By the time you've finished kited your marauder the enemy's probably taken the datacore.
  10. Yes and no. 1v1, sure. I can kill just about every class given the opportunity to LOS and kite, however it takes ages. TTK in this game is extremely short, except if your DpS'ing as a sorc/sage. Thats the pickle! In objective based PvP we don't have the luxury of time or even space to do that, and its almost never 1v1. Yeah there's counters to everything, but they don't work well. Even with a plethora of peels chances are if they want you dead, you're dead. Man I remember looking at beta footage and devs talking pre-launch. They were saying there is no real burst in this game, saying stuff about TTK being long enough to always have a fighting chance and make PvP very enjoyable. What a load of crap.
  11. Just keep lying to yourself. People go for sorcs because nothing else dies faster. Hell I'm a sorc and I do the same, because together with DpS mercs/commandos they are by far the easyest class to shut down. If you look at it, all the AC's with a healing tree seem to be having difficulties as DpS. Apparently being able to heal yourself (in rwz, you really can't in combat) is the same to bioware as having defensive cooldowns. I'm rather amazed by howmany people jump on the "if sorcs are left alone they are a threat" bandwagon. You're a bunch of hypocrits. A marauder left alone is not a threat? What about a powertech? My god, juggernauts hit like wet noodles don't they? No need to target any of those. Go for the sorc 'cause it'll run you over in a global! Line up a sorc, marauder, powertech, assassin, merc, sniper, jugg, etc... Your saying you go for the sorc because it is the #1 threat? Rofl please. Yeah bubblestun is a fotm, with good reason. Its really powerfull. I guess that justifies our DpS trees being completely whack. My 600 dmg affliction crit is so bloody threatening. You better kill me or I'll burst you down with only 17 GcD's. I'm such a bad*ss threat I'm ussually dead before I've casted 1 force lightning, because FL is so Exeptionally powerfull. You're all so very afraid of me! I'm so very important, because if I tab DoT everyone and have high damage on the scoreboard I really made such a big contribution.
  12. As stated before its simply because they are the easyest targets to make dead, and they go dead faster then an overweight bunny chocking down LSD. That and they can be shut down by these classes with little effort. Target down, Enemy team has 1 less player for up to 30 odd seconds, which helps in a variety of ways.
  13. TB blows considering the cast time and poor damage, even with autocrit. If you've lingering nightmares you've also picked up wrath. Wrath powered CD > TB by a long shot.
  14. Well, it does. Spam lightning strike over and over - with a little alacrity the cast time will be below 1.5 seconds and so will the GCD. However it doesn't lower GcD for instants. Its still a pretty useless stat though I agree. I've just recently returned to the game, I already had 90% warhero gear from when I quit, rest is BM. Augmented it all so I'm almost up to speed gearwise. Went in to some warzones, I couldn't dish out a hit above 2.6k (DF). I figured its because of the massive amounts of expertise on gear and stuff. I've just over 1250 myself. I was wrong, its just because sorc burst is now nihil. I quit about 3 weeks after rwz pre-season started, right after all the biggest nerfs to sorcs and buffs to our beloved utterly overpowered FOTM classes. After a few warzones of getting absolutely obliterated by pyro's and any melee with a lightsaber I just went healing because there really is no point doing anything else, appart from bubble folk for stun abuse. Blowing all cooldowns and with near to perfect use of CC and snares I managed to get a few pt's to 50%, at which point I'm usually dead or left with no other option but to run the heck away. I have to blow 5 GcD's to do the dmg they can do in 2, while attempting to kite (which is hard enough as it is thanks to gap closers and autosnares which will last just about forever). I've seen allot of "sorcerors are fine if left alone" and the likes, but tbh thats crap to. Yeah we can do some AoE, but tbh even that sucks. 2.5k Deathfield crits and 2k Chain Lightnings just don't cut it. I've not even mentioned how we suck in objective based PvP, which is what all the WZ's are. We can't defend because we are squishy and can't kite for ****, and frankly outside of bubblepop and overload root our CC blows. On the offense we are to bloody easly shut down or simply bursted down we're just cannonfodder. My guess is the dev's are just understaffed - its all to much work for them to give a crap.
  15. 1.2 was bad enough for a sorc, now I'm dead if any burst class just looks at me. 17.8k health and 1240'ish expertise. I bubble myself, run out of spawning area and get hit once. My shield is instantly gone together with 30% of my health. Seriosly, 3.4k NON CRIT dispatches etc... 3 GcD's kills me. Guess its balanced around every sorc having a pocket tank+healer. Screw this, I'm done with PvP alltogether.
