  1. That will depend on your tastes. Vanguard is high mobility melee tank/dps. Commando is ranged dps/heals. I have both and lean more towards the vanguard as the up close and personal style of tactics vanguard is my thing. The vanguard animations are ok, some of the sound effects need work(HIB). It boils down to do you wish to leap into combat and be in the thick of things or do you want to stay back a bit and make swiss cheese out of things.
  2. For "enhancements" only, your level is going to be limited to endurance ones. After 17-18, you should start to see mixes of power/endurance, crit/endurance, and such. For other information, like what stats do you need, I would look at some of the class forums. Shadows are not the same as Sages, and prioritize stats differently. But other words, what has been said is about right.
  3. That is a tough one. For voice, both classes are not young. David Hayter, for the Jedi Knight, has more of a heroic voice, and Nolan North, for the consular, is more wise. As far as playstyle, agility based tends to flow towards Ataru for me, meaning sentinel, combat spec. That is my take on it. Good luck with either choice though! Edit: Adding to it, you might keep in mind that the dual saber style of the shadow has elements of Juyo and Ataru in it. It comes down to whether you want to dual wield or use a double bladed saber. My first feeling though is sentinel, as you stressed agility, and Ataru for sure is that embodiment.
  4. You saw someone without a chest piece, didn't you? There is a cosmetic, adaptable armor out there that is basically a barbarian's wet dream. It allows you to slot in the mods and such that you want while displaying no armor texture, just the chest.
  5. As Jung Ma is a place that is feeling like home for me, I figure I might as well. Lubbock, TX.
  6. Thanks for posting and maintaining this guide. Since coming back, I have been toying with a shadow, really liking the story, and it has been a challenge to get use to it. I end up playing a thief/rogue/stealther in most other games, and this guide helps a great deal.
  7. No need to explain it, when people have already done better at it than I could, http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=435555 Enjoy!
  8. Yep, he used Soresu, and as had been stated, is a master of it. In the Revenge of the Sith book, Windu says Obi actually defines Soresu, and is not just a master of it.
  9. Tactics is still a puzzle. The abilities seem to not flow with the talents, somethings feel bugged, but when I go into WZs, things die. I have noticed time to kill is very short, and with Tactics' kiting capabilities and higher movement speed, I have lived longer than some. The only thing to do in this early stage is to respec and try it. I would recommend HEC though, or at least giving it a try. The ammo regen and speed increase doesn't sound exciting, but when you hug a wall for LOS purposes, you can wreck some folk majorly.
  10. Tested as well on my 37 vanguard. Damage seems to be working, but kind of odd. 316 per tick with HEC active, no stacks. 463 per tick with HEC active, 5 stacks. 293 per tick with Plasma active, no stacks. 439 per tick with Plasma active, 5 stacks. I did a little math and it seems the 5 stacks of Pulse Generator is giving you a baseline increase, meaning it is buffing what your PC does before any buffs. The buffed portion does not seem to get any increase from having HEC active, but it does work, at least today it does.
  11. Tactics is good, it is not bursty, but it is unrelenting. If you like getting up in someone's face and putting steady pressure on them, it is a good spec. I will add though that if you want burst, go Assault, it is better for burst.
  12. That depends entirely on what you want to do, playstyle wise. I prefer tactics, but that is because I like the way it feels, and flows. You also might check out taugrim.com if you want more info on his spec, Ironfist, and other specs he has tried and researched. You might also check out Oozo's videos, he posts as Raggok on the vanguard forums. Reasons for Tactics: I tend to play off the wall and specs that seem to under perform because I like the challenge. Tactics in pvp is more getting in someone's face and pretty much killing them with high sustained damage. Have I 2-3 shot someone? Nope, but I have dropped their health quickly with the sustained damage that tactics puts out. Tactics also holds well as a node/wall defender in warzones. About to die? Gut everyone in sight.
  13. You can, currently, pull the expertise mods out of the level 46 weapons to add expertise to other gear. Granted this is only a small fix, but it does add expertise to your gear.
  14. High Energy Cell is more than just damage increase. Talented for it, which you should for deep Tactic builds that don't use 18 points in assault, gives you 15% run speed, 1 ammo per 6 second regen, and the damage buff. With smart play, in pve you can dps quite well to make fights easy on Elara(if you level with her), and in pvp you can keep high pressure on anyone you are fighting. 6-9k damage in 3 cooldowns? No, but you have the potency to make a healer pull their hair out trying to keep one person alive, let alone smart play to focus on the healer with 6 second interrupts, stuns, peels, and kiting the melee'ers trying to keel you because you are attacking the healer .
