  1. I went with Forceslam. Its simple, related to SW, and easy to remember. So I've got Opod Forceslam, Brocksamson Forceslam, Hailstorm Forceslam, and Ailos Forceslam. Opod is a tribute to the orange pixel of death in beta . . . RIP.
  2. I would just rather be able to access the other factions GTN through their console. There is an imp and republic one on the open world pvp area on tat. might encourage some PVP too. More likely would result in a lot of griefing, but theres always collateral damage.
  3. I would rather not have the RDG tool, but bioware needs to manage server populations and factions imbalances better. You've got to have a critical mass of player population in order for LFG to work. maybe in a month server populations will fill back up things will work. I'm pretty dissapointed about the server pop caps atm.. EVE can cram 200 or 300 players onto the same spot with minimal lag, and have accomplished up to a 1000 with crashing servers I believe. SWTOR lag gets crappy at about 16 players, every warzone has terrible lag on my server.
  4. 1. You're only undercut till the first person buys the item then you're no longer undercut. 2. I don't see people "storing" stuff on GTN and I can't see how having more stuff for sale can be a bad thing for buyers. Its up to them to sort out whats worth buying anyway. 3. This may discourage scamming by posting stuff for stupidly large amounts, but I don't follow your curbing inflation talk. 4. agreed 5. what? they clearly tried to copy wow and it was clearly a stupid idea.
  5. you want to list something for less than a day, go for it. So long as I can list stuff for a week or more I'm happy. Also if you buy my reasonably priced stuff and relist for higher, I'm ok with that too. I'll just make more of it and undercut you.
  6. on the subject of how the GTN should work, SWTOR' GTN sucks, WOW AC also sucks but has shortcuts. Eve got the economy right. there are 3 things that SWTOR should steal from them: 1. Item price and volume history 2. The ability to place buy orders 3. Being able to list something for sale for up to 3 months. But I digress, still think our crappy GTN is just a built in time sink, they want you to waste time on it, so they made it hard to use and will keep it that way.
  7. So there has been a lot of complaining about 50 items max and the 2 day time limit on the GTN (I've done my share). They seem like very simple things to change as far as making it so you can sell more items and have them on the market for longer than 2 days. I haven't experienced a lot of lag on the GTN so server traffic doesn't seem to be an issue. So why haven't they changed this or even commented on it at all? Does anyone else think this was a built in time sink for players so they had to waste a few more hours relisted 50 items a couple times per week?
  8. It keeps thing unique and more difficult to copy and for someone to copy you specific purple. I think its fine.
  9. ^this. a hundred million times this. Eve is the pinnacle of trade and economy in the MMO market today, and has been for like 5 years. The fact that Bioware has copied an auction house type of trade system is incredibly disappointing. I shall detail my disappointment in the following points. Three main points of disappointment: 1. The auction house is at least 7 years old. 2. Auction house sucks and there are better systems out there. 3. A great economy will help retain players. 1. The auction house I believe might even predate wow (not too sure of the history here). I have always found these types of systems to be a pain and only slightly more efficient than its predecessor (spamming WTS and WTB in the trade channel). Only being able to list items for 2 days just doesn’t make any sense to me. If I got an item and I want to sell it, then I’m probably going to want to have it on the market until it sells not just for two days at a time. If I’m going to accept some market micromanaging then it’s going to be changing the price to keep it competitive, not having to relist the stupid thing every two days. 2. As previously stated the auction house system is OLD and sucks for the reasons stated and lots more I didn’t. Can’t bioware come up with something better? Apparently not, but at a minimum they should have chosen a better system to copy. Anyone ever played a game called EVE? Eve has by a wide margin the most robust economy system and interface available. It is ridiculously deep and the game has even been described as an economic simulator with some pew pew on the side. You can change sell order prices, view historical prices and volume, PUT UP BUY ORDERS, and a ton of other stuff that makes it awesome. I am an EVE vet which probably means I’m a bit spoiled in what I’m used to for an economy, but that’s no excuse for what we’ve been given to deal with. Now am I saying we should have Eve’s economy, absolutely not. Eve has also been described as having a learning curve that goes straight up, which I can vouch for, but there are a ton of great elements that could be incorporated. 3. It’s been stated multiple times on the forums that even if content goes to crap, a lot of players will stick around for trading/economy and such. A lot of people enjoy playing markets and it keeps people playing the game so it makes sense for bioware to want a good system. As far as I can see everyone would win with a better market system.
  10. they could definitly do something to streamline how you find other players for flashpoints and such, but a dungeon finder is too far in my opinion. if you have so much trouble with the current system, your playing the game wrong. look for people similar level and ask them nicely if they want to do a flashpoint with you. the machine matching you with people = anonymity, which is the opposite of community this is a MMORPG, GET SOCIAL PEOPLE! Also a system bigger than the ignore list to keep notes on people would be nice. go play eve for a week, their standings system is boss. Also take a look at their econemy while your there, we could use some of that too.
  11. I'll be leveling all classes. The money I paid for the game and first subscription were for Bioware to tell me some stories. Honestly, I doubt I'd be sticking around that long with each classes story. SWTOR - story = WOW's level grind and I hated that. We'll see what they come up with to keep me around after that.
  12. torhead.com is also a good site. and ya the entire search has been disabled, you can't even search for your own posts to find threads you posted on yesterday. Bad form bioware, you take the forum search offline right when the game launches so all the new players will be spamming with new threads cause they can't search for answers.
  13. The crappy auction house mechanics. you copied the worst economy tool, made it a little worse, and put in your game. Go play eve for a month and learn what a real game economy UI looks like, then fix ours.
  14. its garbage for scavenging too. there are a few nodes here and there but very spread out. beyond that its all killing strong bot npcs.
