  1. LeonBraun said: Because the community needs people to be playing the game in oder to build it... Active community bring more community. The original bonus was offered only to players who had a character at level 50. As many of those people defending the original criteria have pointed out, it only takes a week or two to get to 50, providing you focus on nothing but levelling that character. Do you really want to argue that somebody going from 0-50 in two weeks is contributing to an "active community"? If I sit on a sub, sure I'm spending money but I'm not contributing any building to the community. I am not sitting on a sub. I play almost every day. I have many, many alts. I offer help when people ask questions in chat. I create and join groups for flashpoints. I craft, collect, buy, and sell. I queue for warzones. Frankly, I think I contribute a great deal. Players want to see MMO's full of life and people out playing. This legacy promo fix was the right thing to do. See the above. How many 50s do you see in your travels? I suppose, if you're already 50, then you're running around a level-appropriate zone, or you're on the fleet, or you're running with other players your own level doing whatever it is you do when you're 50. The point is that new players don't see 50s all that much. Who they see is experienced players levelling alts and answering their questions. And the "fix" is as misguided as the original offer. It still sends the wrong message.
  2. I'm going to make this brief. With the change to the "Legacy Promotion", I will likely qualify for the 30-day bonus. I have a level 47 character, as well as multiple 20s and 30s. Here's the rub: Those characters are on a server that I do not play on anymore, because the population tanked. During peak hours, I was lucky to see 60 players on the fleet. So I moved to a high-pop server and have been a happy camper ever since. What I don't get is why BW is insisting that the promotion be tied to (experience/legacy) levels. I mean, if their true intent was to reward "loyal and valued customers", wouldn't they tie it to something like, oh, I don't know, NUMBER OF MONTHS SUBSCRIBED TO THE GAME!?! It's not rocket science people. As a side note, I love this game. All of the early bugs, graphical glitches, voice-over hilarity (apparently no two characters can pronounce a name the same way -- is it SEE-OH or SY-OH?), etc. just added to its charm. I knew, from past experience, that most things would get ironed out in a patch or two. But this public relations calamity has left a bad taste in my mouth. For the first time, I am actually beginning to have doubts about the management team at Bioware.
  3. I'm just as upset. I pre-purchased the game. I've been an active subscriber since launch. But I'm being penalized because I'm an altaholic and like to take time to explore. I strongly suggest that Bioware/EA revisit this particular bonus to ensure that they actually reward their LOYAL PLAYERS and SUBSCRIBERS. They may have already screwed the proverbial pooch with their insistance that you have to have a level 50 character, but that doesn't prevent them from extending the bonus to those players who have actually been contributing and supporting the game since launch. Unless, of course, this "bonus" is really targeted at those hardcore players who all left after hitting 50 in the first month, and is designed to entice them back. I'm going to take a wait and see approach. I don't think I am alone in saying that this particular "bonus" was not given enough thought.
  4. This is a question that only Bioware can answer definitively. However, if this game is like every other game out there, then you need to have a unique registration code for each active account. This is the code that comes in the box or (if you order a digital version from Origin) is emailed to you. In other words, you need to buy a copy of the game for every account that you want to have. If you want to have two accounts active at the same time (i.e dual-boxing), then you need to buy two copies of the game, one for each computer/account. If you share your computer with somebody else (brother, sister, spouse, parent, etc.), then you both need to buy a copy of the game. You will only need to install the game once, but you each have to have your own, unique registration code. I'm pretty sure this is how it works. Somebody will quickly correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. 8 characters per server, with a maximum of 40 characters on 5 servers. iirc edit: The following is from the guide on this web site: "You can create up to eight characters per server, with a max of 40 characters across five servers, letting you play out multiple storylines."
