Third time's the charm they say. I finally found what works for me, and the game now delivers fun suggested by the incredible immersion. When I decided to try SWTOR again, I looked at what my playstyle seemed to be from my previous 2 attempts and what did not work. I really wanted to be a Force user because they define what SW is for me. Second, I always prefer ranged combat capability where possible. Third, I decided a tank might have the toughness needed to survive in the game. Looking at those 3 criteria the choice was obvious, but ironically I had played every class / specialization BUT that in previous tries. Now my characters have made it farther than I have ever gotten and I am enjoying the game. The point of all this is for new players: Do not give up until you have tried every class/specialization available if need be. When you find the class/specialization that works for YOU this is easily the best MMO out right now.

Actually I don't mind the robes as its an easy way to avoid the "guy player looking at guy butt" syndrome. But as I stated in another thread I am too busy looking at threats for that to be an issue. I DO find it annoying is how they seriously expect someone who would go on dangerous adventures regularly would do so without meaningful body armor And no I do not want to play a Knight/Warrior.

I play male avatars because I'm a guy. I know the reason many guys say they play females in MMORPGs is because they'd rather look at a girls butt than a guy. I do not know about you but I'm too busy looking around at what might shoot said butt off to be looking AT it. LOL. So I do not have any problems. Besides, I find the morons who would hit on a bunch of pixels in a game creepy

I forgot to mention my consular is the ONLY class I've played that took down a "gold star" enemy without using Heroic buffs. That will come in handy on planets like Alderaan. I am hoping that the Sith Assassin does as well.

Personally I am enjoying the Consular story, but then again I majored in history in college I do agree that Qyzen is turning out to be really good as a companion. Out of all the classes my consular is the ONLY one to take down a "gold star" enemy without resorting to Heroic moments buffs. To each their own I guess.

I was under the impression that you get Nadia sometime in the 40s and considering the game caps at 50 (soon 55) I consider that late.

I plan on romancing Nadia. My only gripe is that she enters the story very late. But I agree with you I guess Consulars get to follow the Jedi Code Look at it this way: Fess makes a GREAT tank for your Consular.

Hi all. While I had varying degrees of success with the other classes, I found my best time was with the Force and stealth: the Jedi Shadow. I also feel like a Jedi with the ranged (admittedly short ranged) Force abilities. The Knight felt like a trooper that brought a knife to a gun fight Also the stealth means I can get into close range to best use my abilities and saber. I am glad it worked out this way because I feel that the Force users are what makes Star Wars unique: take them out and SW becomes a generic space opera. When done with the shadow I will try an Inquisitor on the Empire side. I will be a light side Sith and it seems that they are the ones who can get away with it because the Empire has a hands off approach to the Sith The others either did not work for me or I did not like the story: Scoundrel and the Imperial Agent.

I am going Operative DPS and it is a blast. I tried all the other classes to the mid-20s and I have never been so effective as now. I can still heal if I need to but that is not my thing. I love soloing this class but I think you should give it a go. You might lose a few groups when you tell you are DPS but you will have a LOT more fun.

Only had one romance so far but my Light side Bounty Hunter is a blast with Mako. Shooting for Elara with trooper but not high enough to met her yet.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the obvious: maybe this Advanced Class doesnt fit your playstyle? Maybe you should make a new trooper and go Commando instead? Or even another class entirely. I love my Trooper and Bounty Hunter but cant play a Smuggler or Jedi/Sith to save my life.
