  1. SWTOR never knew if it was a MMO or a solo RPG. KOTFE follow this. You can't really say it's a good MMO, or a good solo game, because it's in between. With the limitation of both. It's kinda sad, because on one hand they says "choice matter", but they do not, because if could die, or survive, depending on player choices, then it would add a lot of voiced convos (IE money), and people would be pi*** because their favorite character died, and they can't reload. I took those examples because it was planned to happened, and you had a choice in the matter, but removed. On the other hand, they can't go all multiplayer, because the casual solo crowd would go mad at them, and drop the sub. Which lead to a half game in both side. Sadly, it's too late to make a choice now, without alienating half the game population. Unlike SWTOR, IRL choices matters. But on the bright side, many game are suffering the same fate. Dragon age inquisition is nothing else but a solo game with MMO quests and mechanics. Teso is also in the same situation. You have the entire leveling (which is long and divided in 3factions) very solo friendly, and an endgame which is multiplayer. You spent dozen of hours solo, and then you are told it's a mmo. Leading to a poor man skyrim without all the mods and stuff that makes skyrim great (or simply playable on PC), or a poor man MMO with half the usual MMO content and stuff. Arcann made a hole in my life with a lightsaber, but I feel better.
  2. I vote for a reskin of an old jacket. In white instead of black. If we are lucky, a slightly different color for a crystal. I can hardly wait. BTW this guy called, he said he is now working full time for BW.
  3. I don't play pvp, but I don't mind that as much as the "other" one who ask for world boss kill. At least the PvP one is optional, and as soon as you talk to him, no matter if you didn't knew him before or don't do the pvp quest, the prerequisite for the next wave of companion is met. On the other hand, the lizard is not optional. If you don't do his quest, you can't unlock all the other companion that come, and according to Musco, ALL the alliance companion to come. So while you can skip the pvp companion and still have all the other, you can't skip the lizard. You are essentially stuck at this stage of the Alliance companion recruitment. Which is terrible, because WB have a terrible respawn, need a full raid, can't be pugged through LFG, so you either have to camp and grind the same spot 20 times, or jump from planet to planet hoping for a group to be made. People want their companion more for the promised story behind, than for having a walking doll to put all their expensive cartel armor. Believe it or not.
  4. They made all armor "adaptive". They made all main stats "mastery". They made the discipline system to remove any deviation from the 3 paths. And yet you hope they'll make comp unique again ? This is not how they work. Yes it sad. But sadly, there is not much we can do.
  5. So far it seems all the letter are rather on the "you're gone, I'm off" side. Some more than other, but I think it's tied to the character itself. I'm kinda scared, because the Mako letter was very similar. And I really like her. Then, Jaessa is not the only companion with a double "personality" to deal with. And we already knows that the other one (Khem Val) is coming back (datamining I guess, but mostly ingame bug). So apparently it's not too much to deal with. On the other hand, BW already favored one romance above all else by a large margin in ME3, pretty much relegating some to a single convo and a "I leave you, sorry !" thing. I just hope they won't pull a "Liara is da best" on us. Genuine question : why ? As far as I know, SWTOR voice actor had a long term contract with Bioware, is there a special issue in this case ? "Generic" pre-KOTFE romance letter. For some reason you received them afterward, but they are sent (after a delay) after the romance is "over" (IE you've done all the convos). For every companion (except for KOTFE companion) you have 3 romance letters. Then 1 for KOTFE. Actors for the coming chapters are included, at least some of them. For example Vette's actress, as mentioned earlier in this thread.
  6. They say it was technically impossible for some reasons, to give us our weapon. So they gave us a generic pistol. Same is true for all the non force sensitive ranged class. Which is kinda weird, since there is a cutscene in Belsavis where the trooper uses his assault cannon (as a commando, I suppose with a rifle as vanguard) to suppress a group of mobs. And my BH used his own pistol several time in KOTFE (a first). But then, when you see the dream sequence, with your companion, it's usually bugged and none of them have any weapon. In old pre-KOTFE cutscene they were sometimes in undies (because custom armor was not shown), or in a generic costume. It was fixed though. It's no big deal though. It makes sense for a sniper to have a sidearm, same goes for a commando using a minigun thing.
  7. Come on, in SWTOR hats and hood are in fact, hair. And not mentioning the clipping everywhere. It's sad, but a 8years old game (LOTRO) is doing way better when appearance customization is concerned. You don't know how you feel when your hair AND your hat are showing, without clipping, especially after playing SWTOR for a while. Anyway, don't get your hopes high, the game started without the appearance tabs (while all the MMOs in the market have them, even the older ones), and they tried to sell us the orange weapon as a way to customize appearance.
  8. Well, there is something I saw with my BH. His romance was acknowledged 3 times. First in Valky when you talk about the crew, and mention you have a reason to go back to them (IE the person you love), and how he have taken her from my BH. Then, the "I already found love" dialogue, and finally the mail. I only remember 2 of them on my trooper (the "love" dialogue and the mail), but I could be wrong. I may have been extra careful since I knew about the bug and I was looking to every signs. I did the romance on the way to level max, so about a year ago I suppose. I already had a BH with Mako and everything, but I wanted to change the class of my BH. With countless alts behind, it was easy to dump enough gifts to make her reach the max affection even before I was able to do her quests. I honestly don't think it's related to creation date/romance timeframe. My trooper was created during pre-release, romance on the way to level max, and it worked, same with my BH which is kinda the opposite. Granted, it was kinda bugged with my pre-release AI, receiving a mail from Vector, but no conversation with Valky, while she never romanced him. She romanced Lana, and only her. But then, I think something broke years ago, and I suppose she is, for the game, in a romance with him, even though she never even kissed him. I guess he'll go all jealous on me when I'll see him again, but I already know he is the stalker type. The next chapter is in January (I think ? Perhaps a bit later), so they still have time. I'm sure that's what they are thinking anyway. Quite frankly, with KOTFE, the game was in need of some "story check", both as a reminder for the player, and to be sure everything is working fine with the character. For example, you faced XXX on this planet, but decided to let him live, you romanced YYYY, and so on. Quite like the Telltale's Walking Dead videogame, with the "previously" cutscene. I played some of those stories only once, and it was years ago. I didn't remember who was General Rakton on my trooper until I searched on google. Or master what's her name is with my smuggler. Anyway, I digress.
  9. Nico have 1 conversation in the entire game so far, so he is pretty much similar to the Akk dog from the pack. The blasters are nice, but not that nice. The coat is a reskin, so I couldn't care less. I don't use the mount. The only reason I subbed was because f2p is terrible with this game, and I wanted to play KOTFE anyway. Now, should we talk about real veteran reward, the kind others game does ? Now, that would be great.
  10. Then I guess that's the only place in KOTFE where choices actually matter BTW, Xalek is still part of my little band, even though I choose to imprison him. However, he will remember my "cruelty".
  11. Pretty sure gifts are easier to fix than this bug. It's just a matter of changing a number in some file. The bug we have seems random (hard to pinpoint), and is not affecting everyone. I'm pretty sure it's also low priority, considering not everyone is affected, and so far no romance have come back. Except for Lana/Theron, but you start the romance only in KOTFE, as some people mentioned, not doing SoR before will not affect the romance, which is "locked" during KOTFE. That's why they have yet to say something. It's simply low on their list, and don't want to tell us they simply doesn't care enough. So they go silent, and since we are probably a minority, it's no big deal for them. Anyway, I made it successfully with my BH (Mako romanced, faithful), a rather new character (about 1 year old).
  12. On a scale from 0 (not possible) to 10 (pretty sure), I think it's around -30. We had a LGBT thread since the game release, and we had to wait until ROTHC to have the first gay romance (and they were terrible). Not only that, but some characters (*cough*Kalyio*cough*) already have flirt dialogues and at least a few voice over for same sex romance. Perhaps even a full set of voice over, but she might be the only one. So basically, they had all the time in the world pre-KOTFE, AND sufficient motivation (pressure from the LGBT community + bad press). Which is not true anymore. Also, a lot of people would be mad if suddenly their companion had same sex romance, but they would be locked out unless they re-make the character. But then, so many things were cut from the game, when it comes to companion, and none of it made a comeback. KOTFE is restoring a few on it back, like the ability to kill a companion/not recruit it, but it's still extremely limited. Still, if I can airlock Skadge and Quinn, that's more than enough.
  13. Vaylin is a very shallow character. She is just a random (powerful) psychopath that kill for fun. But she have 2big arguments, if you catch my meaning, and it's enough for a lot of people. It's kinda sad when the entire character psyche can be summed up in less than a line.
  14. BW spent the last years dumbing down the difficulty. In fact, they can't really dumb it further, unless they add an "auto play" feature, that will play the game for you while you pick the answers during convos. I don't see why they would suddenly increase it. No consequential choices for skill tree ? Check. Auto-filled skill tree ? Check. Less abilities ? Check. Flashing skill to tell you what to play ? Check. Uber-companions that practically play the game for you ? Check. No more class based attribute, because apparently it was too confusing ? Check ! Crit stats merged, because it was also way too confusing ? Check. And when it comes to story, as seen in KOTFE : giant warning in the middle of screen when you are about to start a romance ? Check ! I'm pretty sure I could do any regular fight by just clicking on flashing skill in my bar, and not even watching the fight. In fact, I could even do that while not knowing the class at all, because the tree spec is auto-filled, and all I have to do is click on the glowing skills.
  15. Vaylin is a 2 dimensional character with no deep. It's basically Dune's Alia, without any of the deepness this character had. She is a generic "I'm a psycho" character. Me see, me kill stuff because fun. By far, the less interesting character of KOTFE, IMO. At least Jaessa have some stuff around her, beside the generic "psycho".
