  1. I run an RP guild on the Ebon Hawk server. Our official standpoint at this point is "wait and see" We're not even acknowledging the elephant in the room until we've got a clear answer. I think the point of contention here isn't "Who runs the Empire now that Acina is dead" but actually is "Who the f*** is dead?" BioWare has managed to break Star Wars EU canon as this point. Did Acina die or did Malcomn? There's no clear answer. People can say "Well normally ____ happens, so I'd RP this" but that's an individual decision and when roleplaying with a community, things get muddled. If you don't have a firm canon to base your story off of, then when three or people people start roleplaying, then you'll end up with three or more different canons. Trust me on this, managing roleplayers is like herding cats. If you don't have a solid canon to anchor everyone's imaginations, then communities fall a part, and people leave the game. What needs to happen on this, is BioWare releasing a statement saying "This is our official canon". Just one tweet from BioWare would solve this entire issue.
  2. Here’s my issue with the 50-130 million credit cost. It’s a bad business decision for EA. Established guilds will be able to pull this off, sure. My guild is already at 60 million and climbing fast. Smaller and less experienced guilds, however, will have issues raising that price. So the smaller guilds are getting the shaft. That’s life in MMO’s right? Smaller guilds always get glossed over. Here’s why this is different. As most folks whom are ok with the price tag have stated, “it just takes a little time and effort to earn that money, and you’ll eventually get it”. Thing is… MMO gamers aren’t known for their patience. We’re a community of twitchy now junkies, for the most part. Many of the gamers aren’t going to have the fortitude to grind for weeks to get the ship fully unlocked. They’re going to go RIGHT to the gold farmers. The reason this is going to be bad for EA, is that despite what they seem to believe, their player base has a limited amount of money. EA’s strategy seems to be “Players will blow their credits on the guild ships and legacy storage, and then buy cartel coins to pay for strongholds.” That sounds good on paper, except legacy storage is absurdly over priced for what little it offers, and when the exciting new cartel packs being released contain little more than a bunch of lazy re-colours (re-colours…in a game with an established dye system) then you’re offering little incentive to actually buy from the market, rather than the gold sellers. EA will still obviously make money off of this deal, but I think it’ll be less than they’re expecting. I think the initial cost of the guild ship is steep, but acceptable. The rest of the unlocked sections, however, should be drastically cut. Legacy storage, for what they’re offering, should be 10 mil tops. The idea that people will be flocking to the gold farmers really puts me off.
  3. Oh no, you can still, easily, make a profit at 50-60K. The average selling price is around the lower 60s on Ebon Hawk, and I make enough to support my guild's repair fund, and buy the occasional pretty thing. They were selling it for 17,000 though, a full 44k below the next highest listing. I understand that he made money, IF he harvested all the components from nodes, except for the slicing components, and still would've managed to find a profit, but... I can put 30 of these things on the market, and post them for 6 hours. When i check back, they're all sold. I knot the need to generate quick money at times, but why would someone invest that much time, harvesting all those resources, REing all those junk items, and then rob themselves of 2/3 of their potential profit? That's what I did, but it still confuses me, because Me, obviously. I'm clueless as to what I'm doing.
  4. Option 1: I honestly don't see much of a demand for this. We have guild banks with items listed. If someone wants something, they contact the Guild Leader, and the guild leader gives them a price. Personally, I don't sell for profit to guild members, and as a guild leader, I discourage it. If they can supply resources, they get it for free. If I have spare resources, I help them out. That's besides the point, though. Guild banks are there. They could use a little love, but they work, and there are far more pressing issues. Option 2, however, is inspired. Most of my guild members, when they wish to contribute, do so in the form of items, as they might not be swelled with credits. When the bank begins to fill up, I send everything to one of my seller toons, list everything, then zero out her credits, so I can make sure that everything earned from sales goes into the guild funds. It would make life SO MUCH EASIER if I had an option to sell things directly from the bank, which all profits would then go to.
  5. /sign and bump. This could add a great new layer to the game economy, and would be a great new MMO innovation, which this game is sorely lacking.
  6. This is such a terrible troll, but I loved it so much. I just found this after pulling my hair out in game, because someone on my servers filled two pages of the GTN with Augmentation Kit Mk-9's, at a price that are BELOW the profit margin. In short, he bombed the market, lost money, and burst the bubble. I'm getting increasingly frustrated with people that don't know how the GTN works.
  7. As per your fourth point, I'd like to see personal starships unlocked via legacy. If you get a character to lvl 55, or reach a specific legacy level, you could unlock that class starship for other classes. I.E. My Sith Sorc using my Agent's ship, or my BH using my smugger's ship. Now that would be nice.
  8. Bumping for support. PLEASE fix the tunic, and revert the belt. This change ruins the chest piece.
  9. Are you Invicta? Project Invicta was initially formed as a secret initiative under Imperial Intelligence to prepare for the renewal of hostilities against the Republic and subsequent final victory for the Empire. Originally organized by the Sith Doctor Ryz Andu, leadership was reassigned to Count Noctifer of House Varn of Serenno, whom oversaw a massive growth to the power and influence of the Project. Due to a Republic backed uprising on his Homeworld of Serenno, Count Noctifer was recalled to quell the rebellion, and leadership has been appointed to Darth Belatrix, The White Lady, who has subsequently reorganized the Project, elevating a new command staff and re-organising and re-tasking the Project. Now, with the war in full swing, Project Invicta acts as microcosm of the Empire. With a broad focus and long leash, Project Invicta takes pride in being prepared for anything while making themselves relevant in everything. Ordo Invicta is a multi-MMO RP community and Project Invicta is Ordo Invicta's TOR guild. We are located on the Empire side of the Ebon Hawk server. Ordo Invicta was initially a gathering of guilds in SWG's Sunrunner server and was officially created as one guild for Age of Conan. We have since had guilds in Fallen Earth, Guild Wars 2, The Secret World, and Star Trek Online. We currently operate only in TOR and have a new chapter opening up in ESO. Research and Development: Darth Belatrix personally heads up the R&D projects of Project Invicta. Everything from ancient Sith rituals to new scientific research, to exploration operations, Darth Belatrix takes advantage of PI’s massive funding to find new and “out of the box” solutions to the Empire’s war effort. Special Operations: Wraith Squad Having snatched up Intelligence officers after the abolishment of Imperial Intelligence HQ, the Project has its own independent Intelligence and Special Operations, known as “Wraith Squad” service under the command of Keeper Jar’rogen. Living up to the storied operations of their former organisation, they operate tirelessly, to ensure that PI is always one step ahead of their enemies. Chiss Studies and Observations Group: SOG Our glorious allies in the Chiss Ascendancy have intrusted Project Invicta with a contingent of the CDEF’s best and brightest, in the form of the Studies and Observations Group (SOG). This highly trained and highly disciplined group is comprised of scientists, operatives, and commandos straight from the Chiss Ascendancy. This highly rigid unit settles for nothing less than perfection, and has lived up to the professional reputation of our Chiss allies time and time again. They are commanded by Director Drikkah. Heavy Assault Team: Invicta’s army of mercenaries. Anyone from Mandalorians to pirates file into this division, which has earned a high reputation for accomplishing any mission, under any circumstances, with a combination of ruthless efficiency and unorthodox tactics. Most mercenary organisations have been looked down upon in the Empire, but these warriors operate under the protection of Darth Belatrix, whom seems to have taken a great deal of pride in them, to the point of recently disbanding her conventional military forces, and placing the majority of PI’s military operations in their hands. The Heavy Assault Team commanded by Alor Rahm Orade. Sith Order of Invicta: The Sith Order of Invicta is the home for our Sith Lords and Apprentices. A place where Sith discuss the meaning of The Force, the code of the Sith, and what it means to be a Sith. The Sith take part in all aspects of PI’s operations. While the command of various units lays in that of the officers, the Sith provide support roles to everything from ground assaults, to intelligence gathering, to scientific research. The Order of Invicta’s primary goal is to give Sith a new and better understanding of what it means to be Sith. Darth Belatrix commands the Sith Order personally. Command Structure: Project Invicta exists at the pleasure of their benefactor on the Dark Council, Darth Atrinark. The Supreme Commander is The White Lady, Darth Belatrix. Darth Vikt serves as Vice Commander and General Telessa serves as Chief Tactical Officer. Unit commanders are Keeper Jar’rogen of Wraith Squad, Alor Rahm Orade of the Heavy Assault Team, Director Drikkah commands the Chiss Studies and Observations Group, and Darth Belatrix commands the Sith Order. Project Invicta is currently looking for people to be apart of our story, and for us to be apart of theirs. If you're interested, contact a member of the Command staff, listed in the command structure, in-game for an IC interview. You can also send me a message on these forums, but I cannot guarantee that it will get a speedy response. Be unconquered, be Invicta. We look forward to being your friends.
  10. Project Invicta is here and recruiting. You can find our info here.
  11. Ugh, well that figures. Thanks for letting me know!
  12. When the appearance designer kiosks opened up, I went through scars and found this scar set for my Sith Sorc. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3782/9767343133_ff7f3af373_o.jpg Yet I can't seem to find it on my Sith Warrior. Anyone know why this is?
  13. As jingoistic as this was, I actually have to agree. I'm not American, I'm Irish. There have been a few American companies that have come to Ireland that tried to do things the American way, that failed abysmally. Why? Because they didn't adapt. Other companies have used our labour system, and dealt with us straight, rather than useig marketing data fed PR that's so popular in the US, and faired much better. If you're going to compete in a foreign market, for foreign money, you're going to have to adapt. NC Soft made their call. That was their right. Regardless of why they did it, they'll have to face the reprecussions of their decisions, and I don't think "that's how we role in Southie K" is going to cut it.
  14. One of these days, someone agienst xfac is going to actually READ this thread before posting. They'll make a rational argument, rather than posting some mundane platitude. When that happens, I just might be stunned into silence.
