  1. Well, I haven't commented in a while, and although the majority of us seem to be highly interested in having romance options with the existing companions (not to say I'm not at least partially interested) I am just as interested in seeing some new companions that are romanceable. Of course, I wouldn't mind having a female Cathar who my Sith Inquisitor could romance, but then again they seem to be generically avoiding any non-humanoid romances in general. Heck, you can't even play as a non-humanoid race, and would it really be that unrealistic to play as a droid in a non-force using class? There are a few different examples of fully autonomous droids from other sources, placed at differing points in the Star Wars time line(s). Of course, that'd mess with the Legacy system a fair bit, but I still think it'd be fun to play as one of the distinctly non-humanoid races, and maybe get a few of them available as companion choices (preferably with them being implemented as bi, and maybe being optional companions for more than one class, though I'm not sure how practical that would be). Also, as I'm still working on my first char, do you actually get all five of the companions listed on the site for each class in the lvl 1-50 content? My Sith Inquisitor is up to lvl 24 now, and Khem Val and the Imperial protocol droid are still the only two companions I've got, though I'm barely started on the Balmorra quests.
  2. Well, I've been holding back on talking for a while (after one night that I spent nearly 3 hours reading a single days posts), but another thing I'd like is more romance options in general, for both OGR and SGR options. Maybe even a pair of bi companions (one of each gender) for each class, which would innately give two new romance options, and for those who don't want SGR they'd still have one new option. I've looked at the descriptions of the romanceable companions, and some of them I wouldn't want as a companion and they're frequently the only romance option for the char (big surprise, with most chars only getting one option), so just having more options in general would benefit most (if not all) players, not just us who want SGR.
  3. Since this was posted while I was typing mine I'll double post, but I don't get it either, as I only enjoy bacon in a BLT or other sandwich (like a bacon cheeseburger) or as pieces on a salad. I've been known to nibble on it at times, such as when cooking some up to have BLTs, but I really don't like that much of it at once and I find this "baconize everything" meme borderline disgusting myself.
  4. You also forgot that a rubber to a Brit is very different than a rubber to a Yank, as one American general so humorously learned many years ago in that anecdote. As for the main topic, I'm not satisfied with NPC SGR flirts (as the two chars I've already created that'd go bi have a personal dislike of one night stands, and although both are female one is more into females while the other is more into males) I am happy to see something happening (and I'll probably make a pair of chars that are skittish of the long term relationship, due to past traumas, and thus the NPC SGR flirts would flow perfectly for them). It does leave me hopeful that we'll eventually get companion SGR so I'll continue to support the game, barring them making an absolute statement that there won't be any companion SGR, then I'd have to re-think the issue. We did get a yes/no type answer, maybe not to the complete question, but we did get one, and a yes is a very significant milestone, it being NPC's makes it rather minor, but a minor milestone can still be extremely significant, as this minor one means that the can't completely back out later, only partially which some people will be comfortable with and some people won't. In other thoughts, what happened to my sig? It had two lines, and one got removed, and it was there last night when I was checking the forum. I'm guessing an admin had to have done that, and I would've appreciated a message telling me why they did so, as otherwise that's just being an arsehole. Since it wasn't necessarily accurate anymore with the latest announcement I've put in a different second line to my sig, but I'd still appreciate a message asking me to change it if they don't like it and giving me a minimum of 36 hours to get it changed (so that I've got time to find out about the message and act on it) before they take action themselves.
  5. Since I've only recently returned and hardly done anything I'll keep playing until we know. I very highly doubt I'll stick around if they give a definitive no, even if I haven't played a char of each of the base classes going both light and dark side (yes, I tend to play all possible variants, one thing I like about Rift is that with its Role system one char can be multiple variants, and they allow a lot of variance for their four base classes). Although, I did create a Jedi Consular that I then ran up to lvl 10 to see the Sage and Shadow skill trees (she was going to go Sage from the get-go, due to the archetype I was using for her, but I wanted the comparison), and sadly it looks to me like on the force using classes they just did a copy-paste-and-edit as you have skill in the exact same spots on the skill trees with the exact same effects. I think the only actual difference between the Sorcerer and the Sage is the effects of the skill the Sage gets in place of Chain Lightning and some of its enhancement skills. Oh, and with the Sith doing Energy damage while the Jedi does Kinetic damage, but the damage values are the same so that doesn't mean anything unless you have both fighting together against enemies with mixed weaknesses/strengths.
  6. And apparently my newly updated sig isn't showing yet. I'll admit that I just copied someone else's sig, but it's the first time where I couldn't come up with my own waying of saying it and it said something I wanted to say. *edit: I just tried doing a quick edit to my sig to make it colored and now it says it is too long. I can have only four lines (which is all it is in the sig editor), so I can't even save it with a color because it thinks the sig is too long when it'd fit just fine. **edit: Well, I dropped the empty line between the two parts (which let me add a color) and I was even able to make both parts different colors. I'd have to say that although I'm not perfectly happy with the results (I'd rather have the empty line back, though I think I'd keep the two colors) they are at least tolerable for my own variant on the sig.
  7. First, just let me say that I wasn't aware that Bioware had two seperate development teams, so I'll clarify my comment to disregard everything Bioware if SGR isn't in the Expansion Patch: I'll never touch anything by Bioware-Austin again and scrutinize anything by Bioware-Edmonton before purchase because of their association with Bioware-Austin. Of course, how many US based developers have ever seemed to consider including LGBT's in their works? I'll admit that it can be a bit challenging to find even in games by Japanese developers (and since I'm big on RPG's, namely JRPG's since there are enough US companies for the distinction now, I don't know much about European developers), but when they are included they tend to be either good guys or background chars rather than villains. Even if most of the dating sims no longer have the homosexual branch path, just specific chars or harem, you have to get ones that are specifically homosexual to see anything like that. I don't personally mind since I'm not interested in seeing detailed yaoi content (I don't mind it being referenced and implied), but when RPing there are times when I'm going to RP a char that isn't straight, it just comes naturally to me to create ones like that at times. Although, I've had ideas for a few games and all of the ones with romance there are more than just OGR and SGR romance paths, there are also some possibilities for Triads or more (and frequently with open char possibilities for them as well), but you have to manage more than just the main chars relationship with the others, which sorta makes me think of Sakura Wars V (Sakura Wars: So Long My Love for those who don't know that it's the fifth Sakura Wars game) and I started coming up with them years before I heard of it to pre-order it. Wow, that was a bit of a wandering rant, and I can't even make multiple paragraphs out of it without splitting up connected ideas. The people in Freefall (webcomic link: Freefall, sorry, I can't remember the planet's name right off hand) should probably be glad that their quirky robots don't have the degree of 'idea association' that I have. As for the OGR for a male Inquisitor (if I read the shorthand right)..........I didn't hit a single flirt response on Drumand Kaas with mine, and I just recently got my ship. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that his legacy is all going Light Side. I'm not sure if that alters anything, but after he hit Light I there hasn't been anything even close to a flirt response available that I've been able to spot (not that he would've been inclined to flirt with any of the female quest givers on Drumand Kaas, as there was a decided lack of non-stuck-up-Sith female quest givers) so either there is a story difference between playing Light Side or Dark Side (which you've run afoul of) or else I missed a quest giver on Drumand Kaas, and since I didn't do all of the 'group advised' quests (I hate trying to hunt down others to join my group, and when I'm working them in the wee hours when there's hardly anyone online I just don't have the patience for it.) you might be able to talk me into going back there and giving you some 'deep fried goodness' (I love that casting quote from Grandia II, which just put me in the mood to possibly play it again some, good thing I have a backwards compatible PS3) support to complete them. My primary char (and the only one I'm playing until I finish the Chapter 2 class quests) is also named Razmoudah, if you find me online. I'm not sure where you're from, but you're excluding Gust, Compile Heart, Idea Factory, and Nippon Ichi Software. If you're in the US all of their titles have been published by NISA (Nippon Ichi Software America), and at present I'm hard pressed to come up with writers or authors anywhere that are better than the ones they have. And yes, there has been the occasional reference to bi- or homosexual characters (Are the homosexual's really as 'happy' as the slang for them implies? They seem to get treated like **** an awful lot and I've heard rumors that they have the same relationship problems as heterosexuals.), as heroes, allies of heroes, significant background chars, and villains. I'm hard pressed to find a better balanced overall representation anywhere.
  8. Well, I haven't taken the time to read all 400+ pages of this thread, but until I took a look at the last page I had started to think the SGR content would be in the Expansion Patch (you know, the big patch that is included for those who don't get the expansion that covers all of the non-new content changes that weren't exactly fixes, such as patch 1.07 for Diablo II, as they actually changed the function of the Lightning Mastery skill for Sorceresses with that patch), since we've only got a handful of days left until the early access begins and the writers could very well already be working on the next expansion if they are that far ahead of everything else (which is quite probable considering how long the code and graphical sides of things can take, a story written in a week can take nearly a month to handle the rest). Of course, in my own observations Bioware isn't nearly as great of a company as they were a decade ago, with the lion's share of the slide happening post 'merger' (it's always felt more like having been completely bought out to me.....), and sadly most American companies aren't comfortable with 'freedom of choice' in things that go against the religious/moral beliefs of their higher ups, and that's all the more on that subject I'm even willing to go. At present I'd say it's mostly a wait and see aspect, as if the SGR content isn't in the Expansion Patch I'd say it's a given that it'll never happen, and since two of the chars I'm creating are distinctly bi (I have certain character archetypes I work with in most games, Dragon Age being the only one so far where I haven't used any do to the lack of none of them fitting even reasonably well into the frame work of the class and specialization system utilized in Origins, I haven't made it to Awakening or DAII yet). If that does come to pass I might very seriously re-consider even continuing to support TOR, and since I'd finally gotten a computer that was high-enough spec to actually play the game and found out that they'd fixed the balancing issue with the cost of core skills (especially since they cost Credits to learn/upgrade, which typically is enough to turn me off from a game by itself, and the reason I've never played more than about 30 minutes of WoW) and found that the game might actually be worth subscribing to (and even recently subscribed) I might just decide to not even attempt to keep up with Mass Effect or Bioware properties in general. The only Star Wars RPG's I've ever found that I've enjoyed were by Bioware, and KotOR did include such content, and it has been in ever Bioware property I'm familiar with (I'm not familiar with Mass Effect in general, under-spec PC being the main reason) so such a departure from their norm would be a sign to me that they are no longer the company I'd liked and respected and that they aren't worth watching anymore. Heck, Square Enix has been very iffy as well. The Final Fantasy franchise has take a serious downgrade since Hironobu Sakaguchi left, and the last Star Ocean title barely feels like it belongs (and it's an 'alternate universe' one as well to separate it from the original series), only the Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts properties have remained relatively un-harmed by that merger, and are the only reason I still pay any attention to that company. I understand that companies will change over time, but when features/traits to their properties that used to be always included suddenly disappear, or are altered as to be unrecognizable, it's hard to call it a change for the better. Well, that was a bit of a rant, and for now I guess I'll just enjoy the four chars I have created, and wait to see what happens when the Expansion Patch releases, which means that within the next 10 days I'm either going to be happy I've pre-ordered it or wondering why I ever wasted my time with trying to return to TOR.
