  1. whats currently the best mh weapon for a sage in 55 pvp? is it the conquerer mh? is it one of the lvl 53 blue/ purple weapons? or is there a purple lvl 54 lightsaber that im not aware of? please help. i dont want to waste the wz commendations on the mh if its not really worth it with the present bolster BS.
  2. you never hit a wrong key i guess? However you come from BIG nerf to gamebreaking remains a riddle. Doom Gloom super human? Really? As you stated yourself its not as massive nerf for full heal specced operatives. So this time, (after nerfing us with no real good reason to the ground with 1.2) they take away (at least pasive) survivability. Since we have so much of it compared to other classes... You wont find me complaining anywhere about 1.1.2 or 1.1.5 or even 1.2 but now its simply enough. After 1.2 not anymore, It helped you to survive certain situations in WZs and duells. (Of course duell are also not a valid point because hey who is doing duells - RIGHT??) I could continue here but you arent reading/ understanding it anyways - see my next point. If this is what you took out of my threads your either barely able to read or to remember. When someone explicitly speaks about burst his main objective must be dmg in a wz - right?
  3. Not every operative is playing your 18/0/23 spec. For every concealment specced Op who gives a sh*t about survivabilty this is another hughe nerf. Face reality 6% less heal is a number that you dont get by this easy. And its 6% from EVERY heal someone drops on you - so how is that not a big nerf?
  4. Thats the problem - everybody was complaining about how op the operative medics are. Because the devs are taking the easiest choice again they severely nerfed the whole class massively. (Not only the Medic) Dont get me wrong - Ill still destroy other classes even after nerf #5. The big fat joke about this game is simple: 1: If you like to PvE play a marauder or a sorc for dmg or a sin if you like to be a tank - just make sure you have one or 2 twinks level 40 - so you have the buffs of other classes... 2. If you like PvP play an annihilation mara if you want to destroy others, if you want to make sure to play objectives - hey play a sin and since you have a sorc for PvE already you can as well use it for PvP healing. Oh and if youre any good with your sin tank or anni-mara - dont worry about getting the 75k heal medal in at least 50% of the WZs as well. With those 3 classes youll have the best possible line up in any WZ. But what about hte others? Bountyhunters - well yeah they do dmg, can heal and tank a little - but they cant do anything a mara/ sin/ sorc cant do better in the apropriate tree Snipers - Only few people like/ can handle the cover mechanics, players prefer mercs anyways Operatives - for this class you need so much skill, that its not a valid choice for a "common" player F... ank you very much for this gigantic variety of options to be really competitive. Probably rated WZs will be cancelled the night before the patch - its quite obvious to me that the devs dont care about PvP anyways. Let the exodus begin as soon as GW2 is available - thanks for making this step so easy.
  5. You didnt even try to argue any of my points against the talent. Not easy to use but easy to practice... 1. CB needs a TA and Energy - makes it even less credible than OvShot 2. Save your TAs for SP, in the few cases were CB is useful - youll need SP because either you or someone in your team is in trouble. 3. As a heal your strafing away from enemy dmg, not running around them to pew pew with CB, if the oponents dps is that bad you use CG, CD, DP, Grenade, Shiv, BS or Vanish+Stealth+HS - before you even think about using CB. 4. I tried it a bit and the aim mechanic is pretty bad. Only if your standing,(which I never do unless I cast KI or OrbStrike) the aim of CB is reliable. A 10 m range in a ~45° angle is a joke in pvp. 5. Even as a heal you have enough dmg abilities to not use this talent - so why bother with it? ... but since OvShot is an energy burner and CarbBurst is an energy burner and needs an additional TA the talent is next to useless. Instead of OvShot? I pretty much never use OvShot - this point alone is... questionable at best.
  6. @ the above 3 guys (mobiuszero, theopf and ryemfoh) You all brought up very valid points and situations ive been in as well - actually pretty much every one of your statements reminded me of some awesome/ funny/ tragic/ ... moments in game. @ Theopf: Sometimes its very frustrating when it seems like you are the only player giving a crap about the objective - especially as a healer - its frustrating to heal those guys to farm at least a few medals when you already know that you will lose the game because of (some of) them. The solution to that is very easy - respec only as a heal if your in a premade group and if the mindstate of your groupmembers allows you to do so. That will give you a few extra years to live Call me an ego player (Iam not) but sometimes i simply let those guys (even my guildmates) die if they are: - solo killing people nowhere near the ball - and whith doing this making sure that the ballcarrier will be killed by the respawn - run away from the door, the house or the towers to kill others instead of waiting for them. Instead of a heal use a /hug or /lol when they are dying. A brief explanation like "if you defend the position ballplayer etc i will not let you die" will help with some players - some will just start the namecalling contest in the game - cant help it. @mobiuszero: Its often the best you can do for your team (for the win) if you stay in stealth while others fight to play the objective. Think of the operative as a last defender while your teammates are respawning... The stealth of Sins and Ops, if used correctly are some of the greatest tools to win games (along with mara speedbuff and dps boost; force speed of inquis; and pull/pushback abilities as well as the warri - jumps). I know its hard, especially if you know that you could/ would burst the guy down, but wise choices are per definition hard. Nonetheless your completely right. Your job is to do a hell of a lot of dmg. @ryemfoh: all your points are true and valid, but just like mobiuszeros points it always depends on the situation. e.g. voidstar - the speedwintactic - kill no one - rush through. Highly valid tactic (probably the best there is), the problem is that it simply doesnt work very often because of the (at least) other 4 random players in your team and because of your oponents, luckily not all of them are braindead. Overall I like were you are getting at (objectiveplay using stealth mainly). This tactic is very effective, theres only one thing about it which I dont like - operatives can and should play like this occasionally, but sins are truly made for this playstyle. They have (by far) more and better abilities, while operatives should be a little bit closer to the battle. Every of the before mentioned operative specs is outdpsing (yes DPS!) every sin spec as far as I know. So bottom line Id say we always have heal talents (at least offheal), which puts us tactically a little closer to the combatwork anyways if were talking about useful team/gameplay that is. Those are my 2 cents on this topic - again you all are completely right and wrong, depending on the situation and group setup.
  7. Damn now Im in Theopfs and Diplomaticus position (defending my hybrid spec) Allright then, I dont like to play a full 31 heal spec. (personal experience) I think, unlike the group heal of a sorc were players can simply run through or stand in it, its overall not that useful. Some players (as myself) will like to avoid standing to close to each other because of the massive amount of aoes in the game. For this reason and because of the before mentioned energy expensive 31 talent which is on a very long cd i simply prefer to put the points in the lethality tree. Another reason, besides the before mentioned "stupidity" of the talent itself I rarely found the "big advantage" of it in pvp. I rather put some hots on the targets of my choice and kick their health up with KI, SP and KInf as availabe and necessary. Sure sometimes at voidstar or Coast or civil war people are that close to each other - but the picture changes completely one second later... I would love to take the talent accomplished doctor, but then I would lose combat stims and I dont want to sacrifice this talent, especially not since I help out with expensive dps talents quite often. (Orb strike, grenade on cd, CG quite often, CD against stealth classes that might/ will vanish very soon, stun, demolition probe on cd and of course for shiv for even more TAs) So bottom line - my playstyle benefits from this build, I sacrifice some heal over dmg support - which I consider "agressive healing" If theres no enemy doing dmg - theres no heal necessary and combat stims allows me to do so whenever I want.
  8. I had the same thought - but if you are constantly running around, kiting other players it loses much of its value, at least if you dont backpedal - which I never do even though it might be nice to try it for this purpose in the medic tree. Now I remember why I dont backpedal - you walk slower and are in fact unable to kite, so bottom line: 1. if your in the center of (enemy)action youll need your TAs for SP - not Carbine Burst - in about 95% of the cases 2. Since I usually run sideways to cast KP or SP or do dmg on players "behind" me carbine burst is not an option because it deals dmg in a direction where no enemy players should be/are. 3. General latency probs in WZs - you simply miss targets and waste the TA, I rather use it for a SP on someone with 98% health than on Carbine Burst Those are the detailed reasons why I made this statement, please let us know if you disagree - maybe im doing something wrong. Exactly. The only build where CBurst could be useful is in the medic tree with 3 TAs. Thats why I mentioned it in this spec only, and above why I consider it not very useful (in 95% or 85% of the cases dont nail me on the exact number)
  9. Now that sounds completely different already. I talk in absolutes - true - I thought I was already quite non definite in the opening thread. Other than that I answered to some specific questions in a - lets call it spur of the moment thought. Im not always right, Im the first to admit that. Which advise you consider lowlevel advise besides the ones I mention explicitly? Give me a hint and I change it accordingly. And off topic - in terms of specs im playing this atm: 9/32/0 Not so much to say its better than anotherbuild - but its just like any other specc posted in here - they all have their advantages in specific situations. The one I currently use helps me to survive a lot longer... Its far away from ideal but is it fun to play? Heck yeah at the moment it is
  10. Thanks Exactly. I agree to all the above, but you forgot to mention 2 important things: 1. Typically maras these days are playing theyre dot tree (anni). Those dots are real hard hitters. 2. Maras will also snare you after you kite them a little For most players those are real problems - not for operatives - decurse both (dot+snare) with ToxScan well played concealment operatives OWN annihilation maras well played lethality operatives OWN annihilation maras medic operatives will live long enough so their teammates can kill the mara BUT: CARNAGE maras will kill all of us (if they are any good) and all maras are able to (well, if they are able to...) kill us if we dont have some of our cds ready - even without force choke, godmode or cloak of pain.
  11. awesome - enlighten me - oh wait most of the stuff your talking about was already mentioned by someone. If I remember right it was page 1 text 1 in this thread. I believe no one does that stealth-take care of the respective wz objective-burst the other player down-throw in a heal. Thank you I believe my ability to play an operative already improved by, well at least 100% - of course Im still far away from your skill level Funny statement. I was always under the impression that an operative per definition of the class is a solo-kill hero. Interesting that you never made this experience. Oh and thanks for your consideration about premades - I only play with players that are also as noobish as I am... So far we are doing quite good though. when there is 1 topic - in this case the max burst rotation - how do you come to conclusions about a completely different topic? sign - how about you write a guide about all those situations - so I can troll into it repeating the stuff on page 5 that was already mentioned on page 1 and put other things out of context.
  12. Wrong. Youll get Lac procs on average every ~12 to 15 sec if you use them (shiv+lac) on cd.
  13. There are 2 changes Id make - 1 is a personal preference and 2 is a must: 1: put the points from chem resistant inlays in precision instruments 2: ignore flanking and put the point into energy screen I tried something similar to this, but I prefer the Lethality tree combined with the medic tree because of: - combat stims mainly - increased movement speed of slip away and the 30 sec cooldown of the talent - razor edge is awesome since you need shiv anyway to do some dmg I knowt thats off topic but concealment without AB and the armor debuff on it is something I really dont like.
  14. All right you agree that your specc is less credible than the full lethality. Mission accomplished.
  15. Now please dont be offended. If I comment something sarcastic or ironic dont take it personal - its about the spec and not about you after all. (I try to keep the sarcasm down) First of all thank you for the contribution - its more than welcome. (NOT IRONIC) I played this as well for a while but after discovering the abilities of a Lethality Op I switched. By now I switch only between the 3 specs I posted in the guide. And thats al I want to say - hey if someone loves to play 0/0/0 - be my guest but dont put this in this thread to promote it without expecting any negative comments. Dont take the duell remarks too seriously - I wanted to explain the special weaknesses of this tree and maybe I exaggerated a little bit... who knows 18/0/23 might be ok to play, simply for the fun of it- but it has considerably more weaknesses than any other viable Ops specc I could think of. Its the "not whine nore water specc" as I called it earlier. Now lets see your arguments: Which is also one of the main arguments against this build - Im not saying its horrible - its just not as good as it should be. - You said it yourself - and between the lines there is a big "Skilled oponents cant only counter and kill me because they are better but because this spec is weaker than it could be" shining through. The dots are the most important dmg ability for lethality and also for your cull-spam spec. Difference is that in your spec they can be cleansed way more easily. Against which classes do you think you survive longer than a full lethality or even concealment operative? And what is the average class? Juggernauts? wait no they are really hard to kill. - MAYBE you are kiting really good and use the terrain well for KI and maybe you use the cover routine excellent and maybe you time shield probe and dodge like a pro, maybe you use flashbang to interrupt their devastate - then you might be able to kill them - but wait, you said you have no chance against a mara, well then you will lose against a jugg even quicker - especially with your one (unskilled) snare only - adhesive corrosives is almost a MUST have as lethality specced Operative Marauders? As far as I know only snipers and well played operatives with a real specc can kill them Pyrotechs? No wait they outlive you as you mentioned further down Why? because you dont have AB or WB and the extra crit in your dots, you cant root them and your dots are ticking way too slow to really effect them - even cull isnt strong enough because their armor is pretty thick - i guess there is a talent missing to be more effective against this class matter of fact against none of the melee classes you can do much because your also missing adhesive corrosives, escape plan and counterstrike. Mercs? no chance - they decurse your dots and then out dps you by far+ your melee attacks are way to weak to scratch their armor (you mentioned your using melee attacks thats why I bring this up) sorcs? you cant do anything against their dots which crit only a little bit weaker than yours - they slow you, have a bigger range and while they lightning cast you to nirvana they smile about the funny man with his green thingys surounding him while the life bar goes down constantly - you cant kite them - they will kite you, if youre lucky you might be able to use 1 or 2 culls against them, flashbang and vanish+zap isnt an option because of your dots and theyre stun and heals are as good as yours a healing sorc is decursing your dots and smiles about your 1,5k cull crits - youll need 3 to crack his shield, by then his shield is ready again but you cant do anything about it because your out of energy sins? you said that its hard for you to kill them - I fully agree and Ill take it one step further a player that has the same skill than any operative dd playing a sin no matter the spec will kill the operative. operatives might look shocked when they realise that after cleansing the dots are gone fully - even a full 31 medic will kill you after a while - your energy is gone twice after you used adrenalin probe and his energy is full - how the heck did he do that? Did I miss a Class? Yeah the sniper - Ill talk about it later. So again - how do you compare the survivabilty and usabilty of your spec with an "average class"? (whatever that might be) 2 things about this statement - yes situationally your dmg is very powerful Im not saying anything about that, but dmg is not everything, taking def cds and abilities (as mentioned above) from you and from other classes into account youll be out of energy before you kill them and youre melee skills are extremly weak besides shiv (which is not a big hitter anyways) - so forget about them - in this spec youll need to save the energy. Hm? Yes and I say absolutely nothing against that or that the cull dmg is really awesome - but other players arent NPCs. with this specc you castrate yourself - just because you kill some guys every now and then doesnt make this spec a good spec - its weaker than all the others + you have way less energy available since you need to produce TAs and re-dot more often for a very expensive hardhitter (Cull) which you need to spam to get anything out of it. Every Operative (with a clean spec) needs to keep an eye on the energy levels - youll need two eyes for this alone. And why is that good stuff? Your dots make Cull a hard hitter and your dots are weak - any healing class will take them off - then he doesnt even need to heal much while he brings you down in a 1on1, every merc takes them off anyhow and every operative as well. And how big is your cull dmg than - in its already weakened form without WB? 1,3k maybe - less against sins, juggs and any Bounty Hunter... yeah but spreading hots is energy youll need - your dots arent that cheap - especially for cull, more hots and dots and dot refreshment and dot refreshment (...) Throwing Heals around? What Kolto Infusions? After throwing one or two and after an CG>CD>Cull>Cull youre already out of energy... In addition the heal from KP is so low that you shouldnt even mention it - face it - KP is simply your TA producer. Your CG dot does more dmg than one of your unskilled KP is able to heal - try it in a duell. Throwing heals around... Its like the sorc that stands in the acid and heals himself throughout the huttball game - amazing numbers in the end but what exactly does it count for? I hate those statistics - of course you do dmg... but especially in a WZ not as much as you could. If you like statistics - just ask 2 other operatives if they can help you - 1 Lethality and 1 Heal - in the end compare numbers in a voidstar game. Im sure youd be surprised. In my opinion the only valuable statistic comes from various duells against GOOD other players - if I beat some of them I must be a good player myself and my spec must be quit good as well, if I beat them all - well enough about me... (just joking) do you see my point? Thats a real funny statement - you dispute my 1v1 argument to say that Im right? Actually your saying that your spec in a 1 vs you and your friends is great? AWESOME - in a 1 vs me and my friends nobody could tell which spec is good because the other guy is gone in 1 gcd... And here its getting better and better - your chances against snipers are 60/40 at best. They are extremely easy to kill if you are Concealment yes but as a Lethality Op or even a Cull Spammer? Sorcs... well I already wrote above how they can kill you. But Im really curious about the mercs you mentioned - even after the nerf they truly are dps monsters as tracer spammer - ok those are easy to counter - but what about pyromercs? How about now? Do you almost fully agree with me that 18/0/23 is a specc one can play but by far not as effective as other Ops speccs?
