  1. Im pretty sure there are other ways to get a sense of progression. Plus, old content would still stay relevant. Not to bring up the "other game", but imagine if WoW kept its level cap at 60 and TBC, WOTLK, and CATA were all just content expansions. There would be ENDLESS pve to do. I think SWTOR would be better in the long run to just keep the level cap at 50 throughout future updates and expansions, and just add content such as gear, skills, etc. along the way. Thoughts?
  2. I do not feel SWTOR needs to be a SWG clone, other than that I agree on all points.
  3. You might want to try posting this in Customer Service...This is the QQ vs Fanboi section.
  4. Believe it or not, THIS is the advantage we as consumers have under a F2P model. we only BUY what we want. This will force EA/BW to MAKE what we want. let's say they put out some ugly armor in the cash shop. No one buys it. They'll keep different styles of armor until a set sells like hot cakes. From there, they'll make armor along those lines. Possibilites are endless as long as show them what we want. And the only language we speak is cash.
  5. the only thing expertise destroys is people being taken out in a few hits. it allows people who get ambushed to turn the tables around on their attackers. PVE gear should not be a universal set that will make you proficient in everything.
  6. Its comments like this that prove even more that the problem is truly with the customers.
  7. you're right, but i also did not include the markup for CE and DDE, digital sales, and its assuming 1.5 million did not pay the first month. which is an extra $22,485,000.00 made that I did not include. we know at least half of that 1.5 mill I did not include continued for an additional 2 months. As far as ongoing costs, I doubt they spent more than 1 mil a month. 500-700k being generous. I know my math isnt the best, but If this was a console rpg., yes, id's see where it would be a failure. but it's an MMO. Theres still money to be made.
  8. judging by the number you've provided. total investment= $150,000,000.000 USD 2 million subscribers=2 million initial box sales=$80,000,000.00 USD (assuming everyone only bought standard edition) Lets say 1.5 million quit the first month and only 500,000 stay subbed to this day. 500,000 x $14.99= $7,495,000.00 USD x 7 months = $52,465,000.00 USD + $80,000,000.00 in box sales (assuming everyone ONLY BOUGHT the standard edition)= $132,465,000.00 made so far. which mean they only need $17,535,000 more to break even. lets say after this month, only 250,000 stay subbed after this month. 250,000 x $14.99= $3,747,500.00 USD they only need 250,000 of the current subscribers to maintain their membership for 5 more months to break even.(which they've mostly like done since the numbers I have were favoring the worst) Next year its all profit. And this is assuming no one bought the CE or DDE, and 1.5 million quit before the first month. (which we know for a fact isn't the case.) SWTOR has plenty of room for success if we continue to support it.
  9. I agree, add-ons/macros are easy mode. I would mind different UI skins tho.
  10. Excuse my n00bness, what's sharding?
  11. If BW gave us 8 new Ops, 4 new WZ's, 2 world PvP zones next month, people are going to complain if they don't get double that the following month.
  12. i've been sacrifcing my companions since level 1....don't see why I need to pay for it ;p
