  1. Thanks, that helps a lot. I did do the re-sub as I don't want to be limited in what I can do (which can ruin things for me). Now just have to figure out how to play my class again.
  2. When I played last the level cap was 50 and we only had the release. Coming back I want to know what expansions there are and where I can get them. Checking my account there is no way to see what I have and how far I can go as to level etc... Any help would be greatly appreciated as when I go to the store there is nothing there other then subs to buy and I am completely lost.
  3. It actually is working as intended, and there is nothing broken about it. Sure makes little sense and your points are valid, I'll concede that but as to the threads title and above paragraph, again working as intended.
  4. That's interesting, although I recall that some things were broken when patching and I do understand the complexity behind doing one thing in game and then it breaking something else which, seems to be beyond the grasp of the majority of people here. However, I do not recall on any massive scale that you have hinted at that each patch broke a ton of stuff. Exaggeration does nothing to bolster anyone's point. I guess you were not around for the release of rift, wow, eq, eq2, ao, ac, as swtor is about on par with patches at this point from release however rift and swtor beat out the rest when it came to launch and server stability.
  5. Back in my day we had to type the direction we wanted to go. N=north S=south W=west E=east
  6. Well I don't have numbers as to what my healing is in the group vs the sorc so off hand pure speculation if I am being carried or not, and considering we did HM KP with a fresh ungeared (level 50 only a couple of days) and had little issues I sense that I am efficient in my abilities. Sent a message to someone that posted something that looked like they had a program that parsed the data so I could use that in the future to see. When doing SOA and the fall. on the way down I am dropping my aoe and hitting all with rapid shots that are within range/sight. We get to mid point and sorc drops aoe and I top off with my heals. Same for the next part until we hit bottom then sorc drops aoe and I top everyone up. Using this example the sorc cannot heal on the fly as a merc can however their aoe once we stop is well needed no matter what combo of healer's you have. I'll admit we are not doing nightmare (we are not a guild that is go go go lets get there) so I am not speaking from that experience. Maybe you folks are right that there is something amiss but, considering that flair for the dramatic runs rampant on these boards and people where first complaining about HM's being harder my experience would fit in.
  7. Healed it the same as I did any other HM OP. Difference is in our strategy when you need to duck out the sorc would drop their AOE, I would pop mine when enough people where there, then just spam rapid scan and rapid shots until we could pop out of cover or everyone was topped up. I would then race to the tank who wasn't in cover and heal them up, rinse and repeat.
  8. Nope never used that rotation and realistically I have no set rotation. If I need to do some heavy healing, I will go Healing scan, rapid scan (rapid scan again if needed) and then when they are around 80% will start spamming them with rapid shots. If there are more then 2 around each other that needs some healing I'll throw Kolto Missile at them and follow with rapid shots. Throughout a fight I will continue to spam rapid shots even between throwing around Rapid scan. This is what I had done pre 1.2 and I do it now. Edit, correct me if I am wrong but Healing scan has a 6 second CD and with that a rotation of HS, RS, HS, RS would be impossible unless you are sitting there waiting for HS to come off the CD and doing nothing while waiting.
  9. I've read posts by healers complaining but still cannot put together what they are complaining about vs what is in game. My guild runs with me as a merc healer and we have a sorc healer. Before 1.2 I had a spec and style that i healed with and found no problems with heat management or trying to stay on top of everyone's health. The only time we wiped was due to learning the fights. Now after 1.2 I still use the same spec and I heal the same as I did and I still have no heating issues, nor am I having any problems keeping people topped up. Our Sorc reports nearly the same thing, they have however had to do some minor adjustments to their healing style but other then that business as usual as it was before 1.2. I guess it comes down to learning to play the class a bit differently then you used to.
  10. Well for me, movement is esdf, that being forward, backward, strafe left and strafe right. Next W for target nearest enemy, A target next enemy. Then I have Q,Z,X,C,V,G,H,R,T which are set to stealth, DFA, and other abilities that havea long cooldown. Tab is set to target self/companion. 1-9 are my main attacks/healing (using a Naga Mouse I can hit those easily, I can also do 0 - = but little more effort involved). I also have other skills set to the shift, alt or ctrl key combo. My heals are set to alt commands on one quickbar, but with a Shift+alt+4 I can switch that to main quickbar and then go back to an attack set on the main again with Shift+alt+1 input. http://imageshack.us/f/198/23943460.jpg/
  11. You missed it, why bothering answering once, when they know that answer is going to confuse someone and then more questions? Where did they state that it is working as intended, or are you assuming that any lack of answer constitutes a working as intended attitude? 1 or 2 things, you need to exercise that mind of yours a bit, as you said he usually posts with some "I hate my job", did it occur to you that maybe someone higher up said they prefer that he does not post in that style again? Maybe there was some negative feedback concerning this style of posting coming from one of their employees. There could be any or no reason why he has not stated anything.
  12. I would say you need to learn to play a little bit outside the box. I play a healer merc and run around with blizz, so our dps is less then that you would run around with. My strategy in this situation (and ya I have been there), is put your companion on passive, at the farthest distance you can mezz one and run off a bit to put distance between both mobs so any accidental aoe does not break mezz. Then just take out the one with well timed interrupts you will get them down. Then either run out of combat range to break combat and wait for all cool-downs or just attack the last one. As I said I am running around as a healer with heals spec and can do it so you should have no major issues.
  13. Sorry but you with all respect are clueless. Sure it might seem like a simple fix in coding but where you are lost is that something in that coding could conflict with something else within the make up of a character class breaking something else.
  14. The lack of communication on their part does not mean they have not heard and are not listening. Considering that people make post after post which is full of whining and threats etc... I don't blame them for not responding. You know how tiring that is? I have 3 kids, there are times when one will come ask for something, then he goes off and another comes and asks the same thing, which they already know the response but still try. and then the third. No matter how they answer, you will get someone down the road asking the same question, or not understanding the answer. When you get someone that doesn't see the answer you then get people trolling on that person to use search etc... When it is someone that doesn't understand then you need to go over it a few times so they will understand and in that another question will pop up or just as in the telephone game, the answer will change near the end and just screw the understanding up. Want proof, spend time reading on the boards and you will see it everywhere. I'm glad they haven't answered, they have better things to do then really waste time answering and going over their answers with a fine tooth comb so that everything is understood. Not shelving my merc.
  15. Ok it is F2P but realistically it isn't that free. Any business out there is out to make a profit above all else. Just with any MMO they have to have an income that exceed's their output obviously. Paying 15 per month covers the costs of most MMO's these days. That is for staff, servers etc... Now GW2 needs to cover costs as well so they set up micro transactions, again they are out to make a profit. The attitude you can see here as well other MMO's is people want the best gear without having to jump through hoops to get it. Go and look through the forums and you will see it everywhere, people whining about grinding for the Best PVP gear, or whining for the beat PVE gear but have no time to raid and thing that is unfair. Now playing off that weakness GW2 sets up micro transactions to get some of the best stuff. Now you can get what you want instantly but just need to fork out real dollars for it. This can cost more then a 2 month sub in any other MMO. Again a bit of time goes by and they release some cooler/better gear and here you go again forking out the cash and so on and so forth. After a year you can nearly spend twice what you would if you were paying for a years sub. Remember, this is a business and they are out to make a profit. Dynamic Events almost remind me of the rifts in well Rift. After about 2 days of that it got tiring fast. I'll be honest outright, haven't played the beta, never played GW at all have read and watched what I could on it be a little bit informed and nothing jumped at me at all.
