  1. That is a very good idea. It should always have been that way! Where can I upvote this? It should be super easy to implement, too.
  2. For what it's worth, I am having the same issue also on Darth Malgus. As do at least two of my guildies. Can you please acknowedge the problem and maybe propose a solution or an estimate when you think this will be resolved? Thank you very much!
  3. Seriously. I didn't know, it was such a long standing bug. I have it NOW stil. This probably means, it won't ever get fixed. Too bad. I really like the hair, when it is correctly aligned. But I cannot stand watching my nice body type 1 sithy girl look like Sloth of The Goonies from the back. I will pay yet more coins to change it on the "appearance changer" thingy and hope, the next one won't bug. Or are there any work arounds? Cheers R.
  4. Maybe if they hosted stuff themselves instead of all using one of three cloud services, when some student intern at AWS makes a typo in a config, not half the servers on the internet would go down. But sure. Put it in the cloud, they said. Use a CDN they said. What could possibly go wrong?
  5. I personally think it is a shame that group play is suffering so much from bad reputation. I think the problem is the awful group finder. I honestly preferred the shouting for group we had first at launch when there was no group finder at all. The problem is unbalanced groups, mix of inexperienced/new players with impatient veterans and, as you have seen, unbalanced groups with 4xDPS or other strange combinations. While content, especially in the easy Veteran mode, is made to be managed by any group setup, inexperienced players still struggle. And pushy seasoned players who just want to rush rush rush through content do not help in that situation, either. What I suggest is to really try and find some online friends with similar playstyle to your own and group up for Flashpoints and, if you can get 8 people together, operations. The friend list can help. I found peolpe by randomly grouping a lot and adding good players to my friends list. Also, joining a nice guild helps a lot. Not necessarily the large ones, where there are preset teams, high competition and you sitting in the bench before they consider taking you to an operation, but the smaller ones, where they are happy to have extra players in their ranks to form groups. Also, please consider doing the non-group content in groups, like hunting for datacrons, the seeker droid missions or the shroud quest line (in my oppinion, one of the most fund and underrated story lines in this game). This again helps you find the good people you can team up with for serious content later. The most fun I had when I was in a regular group of 4 doing all class quests from level 1 to 70 together, doing all heroics and flashpoints at their "natural time", meaning, when it fit into the story lines of the characters. Yes, it was even easier to race through class quests, but we had a perfect 1T 1H 2DPS team we could rely on. We did not touch those toons unless it was the 4 of us together, and we did all this only on weekends. Nobody was rushed and we could enjoy all story lines. It was awesome! So, please consider those options before you deny yourself the satisfaction of getting those master-mode achievements and finishing operations. It is for me the most fun part of the game. Cheers JP
  6. Hi, I wanted to use the 90 CC period to transfer from Progenitor to Red Eclipse. I did successfully transfer 3 toons (took about 1 minute to transfer) but number 4 is now stuck in the transfer process, or so it seems. I cannot log into either The Progenitor or The Red Eclipse any more with the error: "Your connection to the server has been lost. If this problem persists, please contact our Customer Service Team". I contacted support by phone. I got the info "yeah, it is stuck. Please wait until it is not stuck any more." and that they could not do anything to speed up the process. Anyone else seing this? Or am I just being the lucky one? Cheers JP
  7. Hi there, to revive an old thread. I have played swtor on a late 2012 27'' iMac with 16 GB RAM and the NVIDOA 680MX GPU. Oh, I also had the i7 CPU put in. I had Windows 10 installed via Bootcamp. The game ran very nicely on "high" settings except shadows. No issues whatsoever at the native reolution of 2560x1440. Now I just got myself the newset 27 iMac Retina with 16 GB RAM and i7 4GHz CPU. It runs a native resolution of 5120x2880. That is veeery nice when using OSX for work. Crystal clear, sharp display. However, Windows 10 seems to have issues with the AMD GPU Radeon R9 M395X. I scaled the game down to 2560x1440, just as it was on the older Mac. While the graphics look very nice and shiny, there are glitches during loading screen and on the GUI. Very annoying. I hope this will get fixed with a driver update, but AMD does not provide the regular windows drivers for Bootcamp users, in contrast to NVidia, which had excellent driver support. I have no idea, why Apple switched to AMD. In my experience, NVidia always had better cards because of superior drivers. Anyhow. I strongly believe if you wanted to buy a similarly built PC together with a high quality 5k screen, you will have a hard time finding a deal that is significantly cheaper than the Mac. And the Mac has the advantage of running OSX for work, which - when compared to work under Windows - feels like getting a fresh glass of crystal clear ice water after a three day march through the desert. Cheers JP
  8. Never mind. Had to just click on the "I have read and accept ..." text on two occasions before I ws able to finally click on "accept". Strange. And hard to see on a 5k screen with non-functional scaling of the launcher.
  9. Hi, I got a new PC and want to install SWTOR. Since it is a completely new installation, I am presented with the usual legal garbage to "accept" before installation. After installing the launcher and a launcher upgrade, I can scroll through and accept the EULA. However, I am then confronted with a second set of legal garbage called "Rules of Conduct, Privacy Policy, & Terms of Use". When I scroll down, the accept button stays greyed out. I cannot proceed with the installation. I have scrolled up and down, I cannot find any check box or the like to tick off. How do I get past the Rules of Conduct to install the game, or is this bugged at the moment? Cheers JP
  10. Hi there, for the elder players there is not much left to do except "The Grind". The thing that kept me going was collecting the achievements while I grind away for companions, collection of crates or whatever it is you let us do over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over for fun. However, with every patch you publish, more achievemts seem to get bugged. Fleet datacrons? Got them all, but the achievement is gone. Kill Makrins with fire on Makeb? Bugged since release of Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Getting all four of your Alliance growth to max? Only get 2/4 of the achievements. Get operations in all possible combinations done? No achievement triggering for 16 man story mode ... File in game bug reports? Get redirected to /dev/null So pretty please with cream and a cherry on top: Fix those achievements, because it is the only thing that makes the grind bearable. Thank you. JP
  11. For what it's worth: Having the same issue. Got kicked from game (looked like IP timeout), but both server lists, EU and US, where empty. Restarted game, got the "login service is currently unavailable" message. Cheers JP
  12. Hi all, is this also a symptom that Bioware just does not care about the game any more? Or am I the only one that keeps getting the "interlude -- ALLIES NO MORE" story description on all toons that have done the story? Why can't they patch that away to something more appropriate? It is like having a website where your newest released screenshots are dated back to 2014 ... oh ... ok, never mind. Cheers JP
  13. Yeah, well, it is pretty much forced solo play now since SoR. Since the game is heavily instanced and you cannot team up for any instance added except the star fortress, swtor has been reduced to a non-MMO as far as the new expansion is concerned. Cheers JP
  14. An icon for the Galactic Strongholds section in the forums, perhaps?
  15. And it amuses me to no end how people always say "90%" or even "99%" of something when they really have no clue whatsoever and just pull numbers out of their backside. Of course I don't know for sure either, but it seems much more plausible that they lost more than 50% (hence the majority) of their subscribers since launch. That's part of the reason we have to suffer the Cartel Market. But hey, they have their mighty metrics. Maybe the people leaving get balanced out by even more new players waving big wads of cash at them while swarming the game since 4.0 launched. To get back to the subject: I never understood why people get upset by overpowered companions. If they enjoy taking longer to grind through boring mob after boring mob they could send their companion to sell junk or craft stuff. Voila, problem solved. Cheers JP
