  1. Did your sin tank do anything to kephess after he received the knockback and breath of the masters debuff while placing the purple circles? If so then it is a ability called no escape which is where he will "leap" to a person on the hate list that isn't close to him and do a small amount of dmg. This happened to my guild all the time as I would be doing any ranged attacks I had as a PT tank while placing circles to try make sure we beat enrage. We had no idea what it was as I would just drop down dead from savage for no reason. Kephess was turned away and everything so wasn't his cone hit. We figured it out when I tried placing the circles as far from him as possible while still hitting and sometimes it would seem as if Kephess teleported to me in less than a second and be back on the other tank after I was insta killed. After a little research and talking through the fight with other tank we found that it was because I was doing dmg to him. Once I stopped doing anything to Kephess after the knockback we never had a problem again. Hopefully this helps out ~V
  2. If it isn't the dot like the above poster said also make sure when your tank is not doing anything to kephess while placing the purple circles, not even auto attack in the case of PT. He has a ability called no escape, where he warps to someone away from and hits them with the savage arc thing.
  3. Has anyone tried killing everything within the zone then going there? Even the yellow trash mobs. ~V
  4. Are you continuing to DPS when you are placing the circles? I'm a PT tank so I always used to try and DPS while placing them and this is very wrong thing to do. Kephess has a ability that shows up as savage arc when it kills you but it is actually No Escape where he will leap to you and hit you. After he knocks you back just make sure you stop all DPS while placing the circles and you should be fine Hope this helps. ~V
  5. Well could be few things. First are you having a clean purple phase pull in at 60%? What I mean by this is when you hit 60% you don't have him jump right before. When we were first trying this fight there would be times he would jump right at or close enough to 60% that he would do another jump and the enrage timer would had started while him being in the air, coming down and tank getting aggro and the dot then he would actually start the purple circle/pull in. This really confused us because when we were in final phase at times he would seem to enrage really early while others being fine. To stop this we just always waited for the jump and stopped dps at 62%, have tank1 get aggro and get dot, tank2 taunts while tank1 runs behind wall so he doesn't get pulled in and proceed with final phase. Also make sure your dps starts dpsing right when they are able to after the pull in, during the transfer to wherever you tank kephess during final phase. Now for the insta dieing part, after tank get punted back make sure he stops all dps and he just runs to wherever you place circles and other tank taunts during the casting of breath. If the tank placing circles is still doing any dps at all this will kill him as kephess will jump/teleport to your tank and 1-shot him using no escape. This took us forever to figure out as I'm a PT tank and was always trying to squeeze out that extra dps we needed while i was placing the circles and could never understand why I was insta dying even though it was way after other tank took aggro and I was already on 2 or 3rd placing of the circles. One last thing is to have your tanks save their def cooldowns for when they tanking that last 60%. After the first tank gets knocked back and 2nd tank takes over he should use his def cooldown. This should make so he takes very little dmg so the healers at this point should be able to pump out some dps also. By doing this we always beat enrage timers now. Well hopefully this helps and good luck ~V
  6. We keep the one alive mainly so when we go to mid to pull bomb the battlewalker isn't shooting his aoe right at where we standing, also use it for healers to recover force and/or top everyone off if needed
  7. Augments are kinda needed now since armor debuffs don't stack anymore. First weekend after 1.3 we were hitting enrages even on fights we never hit enrage on before
  8. The minefield robots we have one of our healers take care of it. he cc one and has the other go towards him. then i beleive he shields up and runs into the first ala soa lightning balls ( I believe though not sure since I'm up top everytime, I just know he is the one handling them. As for Kephess I think your talking about the post 60% part after the pull in+purple circle. After we get out of the purple circle we have the dps jump in and start dps while tank positions Kephess (one reason we hit enrage in vid was because the dps didn't get in there right away). They can't go full dps during the transition since he is moving into position, but any dps is needed. Most important part is making sure when the tanks swap that Kephess doesn't move and also the dps have to understand that Kephess may turn a bit towards the side the tank is coming from to relieve the current Kephess tank. This is why we tank against the wall so the knockback doesn't mess things up. One other thing on this for any PT tanks out there, our final hurdle for beating HM Kephess was the fact I kept insta-dying from the No Escape move that kept targeting me. Just make sure while placing the purple circles down that you don't do any dps at all (even rapid shots), as this will make him jump over and **** you. edit: ahh you mean the Shield mobs. Just kill warrior then smash/sweeping your way through. If we don't kill them all we just move onto the next warrior and repeat till all 3 warriors dead. We also pull one mob out to the side for any recovery time for healers but mainly so we can position to kill him in middle so when bomb spawns we can pull him safely without the frontal cone aoe from the battlewalker
  9. HMEC is very unforgiving for DPS. We tend to want our DPS to be at least Full rakata w/ a few BH and all augmented. As for you tanks and healers if they can do NM EV/KP then they should be fine, they just require a bit more skill than gear for it.
  10. Just finished up making these vids ( first time so be kind lol), and just wanted to show that melee is perfectly viable for EC even though most say ranged is a must. Yes I know ranged makes things easier and we did make a few mistakes which could be fixed. 1-shot everything except Toth and Zorn, which took 3 tries. Toth & Zorn Tank healer lagged a bit tank died. At end needed to keep 1 dps on Zorn and 3 on Toth for final push to make sure they died closer together. Firebrand & Stormcaller Not sure why one of the dps died and the other died from a dur moment and ran in front of stormcaller towards the end. Colonel Vorgath Pretty standard fight, I just started recording late. Warlord Kephess Well not much to say here either other than me not accepting the revive there at the end. Was busy staring at the health bar and praying lol. That's it and hope everyone enjoyed them. PS- Has this been done by others? Haven't seen anything anywhere but I'm sure someone has.
