  1. Thanks for this. These were what I was looking for, but if it's not too much trouble, now that you mention it I would like to see the rundown.
  2. Thanks for the guide Hottie. What do your current stats look like? The ones after you changed to crit/alacrity augs?
  3. Thank you to both non-KBN's. I appreciate your direction and guidance just the same.
  4. Hi KBN, Could you go in to a little more detail why you prefer the dummy with 1.5m health? Should this be the way for all classes? Also, now that I'm getting a better handle on the rotation, could you clarify the part in your guide referring to using cool head - and how and why that leads to a DPS increase? Thank you.
  5. Hi KBN, I'm new to DPS (mainly tank) and I'm especially new to DOT specs. When would be the best time to reapply DOTS? I assume Shrap would be fine on cooldown because it does damage up front, but what about Vital Shot? I understand it doesn't tick for a few seconds after applying it. Additional to that, what abilities would best follow your adrenal? It's been suggested to me that I should follow it up with a Sanguinary Shot, with which I've seen adequate results, but if there is better way, I'd love to hear it. I'm having some success with your guide. It was originally very confusing, but determined to see it through, I really just needed to hit the dummy, and eventually magic happened. Best so far is 3882 in mainly 180 gear, with 186 barrels and crafted relics/Implants/Earpiece. Cheers.
  6. I'm using pretty much this rotation at the moment for mobs. It seems to be working effectively. I've also notice that Saber Reflect, when used in the first instance, had it's original threat cut by about half. Pre 3,0, I never use to rely on it to hold threat if I could help it, but it was nice in a pinch and would generate something like 8500 threat. I looked at a few examples recently where it is only about 4200 Threat. I have the utility point in Heroic to increase threat on it as well (Daunting Presence). Occasionally I will see it at about the 8k margin again, but more often then not, it's about 4k threat. Is this an error? Does anyone know?
  7. Previously, we used Force Sweep to apply an armour debuff (Purifying sweep) which allowed us to damage up to five targets within range with Guardian Slash. Now the armour reduction has been removed, and Warding strike applies this buff which is also tied to our main focus builder and mitigation buffs (3% Damage Reduction + Warding Power in our Disciplines which increases shield absorption by 3%), how are people implementing it in to a rotation? Previously I used a suggested rotation KBN posted some time ago which i adjusted depending on the fight. (Copy paste from another post I made 3.0) 1. Combat Focus 2. Force Leap 3. Force Sweep (applies Dust Storm debuff reducing accuracy by 5% for 20 secs. Purifying Sweep also applies armour reduction) 4. Guardian Slash (3% Damage Reduction) 5. Riposte 6. Taunt (depending) 7. Hilt Strike 7.1 Saber Reflect (depending) 8. Blade storm – (sometimes Sundering strike at this point) 9. Riposte 10. Master Strike My concerns are that this feature of Guardian Slash that allows us to hit up to 7 targets must be applied by Warding strike, which if I added to this rotation, would add another GCD and an easy opportunity for DPS to pull. I've noticed on parsec that Guardian Slash threat is considerable (9k - 13.5k at level 57, per target if affected by WS buff), and I may be worrying over nothing. I've yet to do group content, so will need to test this. Has anyone found this an issue if you've done the new ops or group FP's? Also, I've omitted Combat focus from that rotation .I have found I have excess amounts of focus with the reduction of focus from Riposte and Force Sweep, so it's no longer necessary. Anyway - how have you guys implemented it for most effective use? What are you rotations now and will they differ for single target and AOE target?
  8. What happened to all the tanking threads in the ROLES section of the forums? Only KBN's Stat distribution is there.
  9. Thanks for your response. Translating your opener for a Scrapper Scoundrel - Flyby - Stealth - Shoot First - Vital Shot - Blaster Whip - Sucker Punch - Sucker Punch - Pugnacity - Back Blast - Disappearing Act - (Flechette Round) Shoot First - Sabotage Charge - Cool Head - SP - SP - BW - BB - VS - SP. This is my most recent Torparse log http://www.torparse.com/a/739479/time/1407765118/1407765408/0/Damage+Dealt At that stage I was only just hitting 3453 on the dummy. In a raid (not progression for this toon) I have real trouble keeping up with the rest of the DPS. For example - where their alts might be hitting 2700 or 2800 on Nefra - I might be hitting 1900 -2100. Same goes for Grobby or Brontes or Bestia or Tyrans etc. What are some realistic numbers for Scrappers on those fights? I suppose I need more clarification on the rotation. Is the rotation for the dummy the exact same for a boss fight? Do I need to be hitting Orbital to start the fight? Does the same rotation apply when I switch to adds? If I'm taking an add an it's focused on me, I can't Back Blast or take advantage of that benefit - so there's a disadvantage straight away. (eg Corrupter Zero adds) Mostly 180 gear with the exception of the implants and earpiece I believe (1 Underworld implant , 1 DF Power Implant and 1 Oriconian accuracy Earpiece) The rest I tried to follow as closely as your Ask Mr Robot (just with 180 gear instead) I have since replaced a Dread Forged with a Dread Master accuracy because I stuffed up the gearing somewhere along the line ha. Are you able to see where I'm going wrong?
  10. Hi Kesmet, I'm following your guide closely for my scoundrel and I find it difficult to keep up the sort of high numbers that some of the other DPS classes do. I'm just curious whether you use that same rotation in boss fights or is that just for the dummy? If it is for boss fights, does it change per boss for you - for example some bosses won't allow you to start in stealth, or stealth is broken. Also, do you always start a fight with Orbital Strike? Cheers
  11. Is this for both relics? I was under the impression (when I last looked) that it was Arkanian RW and Dread Master FR? (that was when Arkanian RW doubled proc'd) Or is Dread Master Both relics BiS? Also, if that's the case, how does Arkanian rate higher for both relics?
  12. Okay. Reactive Warding and Fortunate Redoubt are the BiS relics currently. I'm clear on that. Can I get some confirmation on what level of relic though? eg; is Arkanian RW still BiS or is it now Dread Master or even Obroan or whatever. Same with Fortunate Redoubt?
  13. Hi all, Just doing some research and checking opinions on having the 2 set bonus level 50 Enforcers for a 55 Scrapper. Dulfy's guide provided the info. http://dulfy.net/2014/01/05/swtor-dirty-fighting-and-scrapper-scoundrel-dps-class-guide/#3 Set out here in the gearing and stats priority- Plus, this was written about the Set bonus. 2 Set Bonus 50 Enforcer - Increases the critical chance of Backstab or Backblast by 15% 2 Set Bonus 55 Enforcer - Increases the critical chance of Shiv or Blaster Whip by 15% 4 Set for both is an increase of maximum energy by 5 My friend questioned me when I told him about it. Is this information still valid? Should I just be aiming for the full set bonus, or will DPS be better with the 2 set of each?
  14. I've been seeing some discussion here about Vanguard and Shadow tanking DPS. I haven't seen much in regards to Guardian tank DPS. I did a dummy run a few months back where the highest I hit on my best parse was something like 800 DPS. Then I'm seeing here Shadows like KBN are hitting 1.3k DPS and holding 3.7k threat on average. Just blows my mind. So - What sort of DPS is practical for a Guardian Tank post 2.5? What are people achieving atm? Are we in a good or bad position and can it be improved? Additional to this, I raid with a Shadow, who admittedly is a better tank than me in my opinion, and flogs me in all areas - especially threat. I can never steal it back without taunting, as far as I've noticed. I still just don't quite understand how our threat has been balanced out, because in my experience - it has definitely improved, but not to the ability I thought it was explained. Just to be clear, I don't think I'm bad - I just don't think it's good enough. It's almost certainly my fault of course, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong - thus I can't fix it. Perhaps others are experiencing something similar? For reference, Gralleh's Guide to Guardian Tanking is my bible. Cheers.
