  1. I'm a college student and I am trying to get a friend of mine down the hall into the game, but for some reason, the Steam login service has been down for over a day now. Not sure if it's just busted right now or if it's my network (which is why I mentioned I'm a college student). Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Go to your account page and under forum management set up your signiture, in there you can just put the link in or i think you can hyperlink it. After that, it will show up on every post unless you tell it not to.
  3. I just want to thank everyone so far for the advice they have given and the knowledge they have passed on. As I said, I've been here since beta and have only, truly returned within the last month or so. I still don't get how some people have the time to level companions as igh as they do, or get their CXP levels to 300. I have a level 70 character I've played through KOTFE and KOTET withand he's only command level 35 or so. I play this easliy for 3 hours a day and I feel like I'm walking in circles, just doing the same things but not going anywhere, sorry if that went a little too philisophical. I have a theory on how people get a steady flow of income, referrals, now it may sound weeird but stay with me. I was really enlightened to how much the economy changed when I tried offering money for a refferal, I was essentially laughed off of Tython. People were saying how people offer 5mil for refferals and that sounds ridiculous, but if you htink about it, it makes some sense. People who get reffered get 600 CCs (if I'm correct), they use those to buy expensive stuff on the CM, then they resell them for probably 30mil easily. With the GTNs growing need for CC items, it makes people who are trying to resell cartel items without going through the CM get crushed. Niches like crystals, armor and weapons have very little diversity other than the gold tiers, in fact, the crystal market has pretty much dried up, the majority of the crystals available are crafted crystals, not cartel. I'm not saying the refferal method is bad but it essentially lets the rich elite run the market over the little guys, changing and influencing the prices to the point where anyone not doing that method drowns at some point. That's just a theory, a SWTOR theory! In all seriousness though, let me know if you agree or disagree, I could be completely wrong.
  4. I've been here since beta and I played rather religiously until about 2015 (when KOTFE came out). I am just coming back and the economy of the game is vastly different than I remember, it has hyper-inflated to the point where i'm having trouble keeping up. I don't know if it was the oversaturation of the CM or the difficulty reduction on heroics and flashpoints but I feel like everyone has SO much more money than I do. Any tips or ideas on how to make creds would be very appreciated.
  5. I personally don't find the Rishi stronghold that bad, but that could just be me. It's so sad to me that they haven't done much with GSs until recently, they could have had some really cool ones if they had done more. Granted they were busy with KOTFE and KOTET after that but they've had more time since KOTET ended and only have added three (I don't think Tatooine was there during release) and it has been over 4 years.
  6. I've been wanting an Alderaan stronghold since the first one released, it was either an Alderaan one or Manaan, and since the Manaan one proved disappointing to me (I don't know how unpoplular an opinion that is) I really want Alderaan. I'm meaning like a palace or a stronghold or something that would be around the same size as (or bigger than) the Rishi one and have it look somewhat like house Alde. It could just be but I think that sounds cool.
  7. These are some example I should have used when posting this thread, the are all nostalgic things I remember. The one thing I wish bioware would fix the most is the leveling system. The leveling system is absolute garbage now, it takes 5 hours to finish a planet that originally took 5 days. Now thats not to say that I want the old system back, but I donwish they’d either turn down the do a little or adapt it to the new leveling xp system.
  8. I’m very glad that this thread is turning into what I was hoping for it to become, keep it up!
  9. I am looking over all the comments and there seems to be a reocurring message that the grind is tedious. I used the wrong examples when posting this thread, I was mearly trying to point out that the game is too easy. The use of grinding was overdone in the past but I do think they went to the extreme with how they fixed it, they just removed the grind completely and said to just do the story. Back then, one had to do every mission on a planet in order to be the right level whereas now you only have to do the story and maybe the story-arc and even then you will be way overleveled. All-in-all, the game I think at least need to decrease the amount of XP you get from missions and needs to include less single player story. I do hope I'm not misunderstood about this and I apologize for the confusion earlier on.
  10. It's funny how this started as a sub-par "nostalgia" forum and turned out to be a disscusion about what the game has done wrong over the years verses what they have done right.
  11. I completely agree, and I think the game is repairable if the devs took the time to listen to the community. The problem I think was that people were begging for KOTOR 3 as well as Star Wars Galaxies 2 which were completely different games. They had made the good stories in a manner similar to KOTOR but the neglected to make a good MMO style game with the replayability that Galaxies had. All in all the game started decent but when it came to the end game elements, they weren't prepared, and they messed up. Now they have given up completely and just went with the story but once that ends, what else is there to do? Well, if they would listen and add more ops, warzones, flashpoints and the like as well as some good multiplayer stories they could recover some of the community. Is the game completely recoverable? Probably not, is it dead? No but if it keeps going down the path it is, death is inevitable.
  12. I do agree that the end-game was garbage, the total lack of content was a major turn-off from the game.
  13. The point I was trying to make was that the game goes by way to fast and that it isn't actually an MMO anymore. While yes I agree to your point of the "challenging" and "tedious grind" mix-up, but most MMOs with the same gameplay can't make genuine challenge so that's why I call it a challenge. All in all, the driving point of this thread was to inspire people to write about old times. I may have used bad examples but I am just trying to show that the game seems to have become less of an MMO and more of a RPG with bad gameplay. To me the grind was fun, and yes it got tedious, but now, without the grind, (man that's a lot of commas) it made some core elements of the game more tedious in doing so. You're welcome to your opinion, but I'm also trying to reach out to people who liked the grind as well as the people who don't.
  14. This may just be me but does any other long-time SWTOR fans miss the old days? When I say "old days", I mean like 2012-2014 days before KOTFE. I miss when the game was hard, when the game had a challenge. I remember when it would take a week (at the least) of playing for like 4 hours a day just to level up once, when it would take a year just to finish one character story, when you had to pay credits to train your character (which got SUPER expensive) and when everything was like a balanced MMO/RPG should be, but those days have ended. Now, I'm not some SWTOR conspirator screaming "SWTOR is dead" and all that, heck, I've played this game since it's beta and I still love it. I'm just saying that I miss when the game was something more than "KOTOR 3" and it was a fun community driven MMO with a good story to boot. If anyone else has any fond memories of the game they would like to share, I'd love to hear them and maybe I can relate. I want this to be the start of a list of great memories and fun times so leave something below. Thanks.
  15. Is it just me or is the server shutdown, because I was trying to play but my game crashed and then it said it was down so I don't know whats going on. Information would be appreciated. Thanks.
