  1. HK-51 is broken. I was watching him in combat (in DPS mode) and had Parsec going on the other screen. A lot of his attacks do 0 damage. His basic attack included. He does about 100 DPS at level 25 compared to a normal companion, which does 300+ DPS.
  2. You don't get them back until everyone else gets to recruit them... unless you "cheat" and use that terminal in your alliance base. Unfortunately they still don't go back to your ship. This is why I'm not doing KotFE on any of my other characters and I regret doing it on my main character.
  3. I went ahead and used the terminal on my one character that's done KotFE. I just didn't like all my favorite companions being unavailable. Personally I think if they wanted to take companions away for the expansion, they should have brought them back right away as a priority, instead of flooding me with all these stranger (or other class) companions I don't know and don't really care about.
  4. I'm sorry, haven't read through the whole thread, but this is common practice as a way to transfer credits between characters or factions without having to send them through the mail. Say you want to transfer 8mil to your Empire character. You go on your Empire character and list an item for 8mil. Then you switch to the Republic character that has the money and purchase the item. Now the Empire character has 8mil - the listing fee (which for a cheap gray item would probably be next to nothing). They've been doing this in every MMO that have public markets. Unfortunately it can also be a way for gold farmers to transfer credits, which is likely the most common use for such a method. Bottom line; it's most likely NOT a scam of any kind.
  5. I was doing heroics at-level with someone last night, and a 65 came in there doing the same one. I tossed an invite, it got ignored. Then RIGHT AFTER we killed some stuff, that same 65 came rushing in to click on something we were practically standing on top of. That, ladies and gents, is what we call a neckbeard.
  6. Thanks, I miss the daily missions. I used to do them a lot just because I don't know. They were good money. They also removed the dailies from Belsavis... not Section X, but the Belsavis Bonus Series were mostly dailies. You can still do most of them once (as Exploration missions) but some of them are gone completely.
  7. What I did is I bought a pre-paid game time code from Amazon and then gave my nephew the code, which they could then enter on swtor.com. I've done that a couple times with no issues. http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Republic-Prepaid-Subscription/dp/B00HWYDM3O
  8. Well not just that but it's kind of cheesing the story doing it that way. It's something I struggle with every time I log onto my main. I really want Nadia back but I don't want to go the cheap route. It makes me wish I'd done KotFE on any other character first because it really is quite the dilemma for some people, bugs or not.
  9. That's not the issue, it's a BH bug that keeps those companions from talking to you. Although after 4.0.2a I was finally able to (A) finish Chapter 3 and (B) talk to Blizz and Skadge. It might be fixed now, or at least it was for me.
  10. OMG just... http://www.quickmeme.com/img/71/71caf78f38d02b6fec35a0242abfffb5cb39bf7eec20cc81760c727b19596f3c.jpg
  11. SWTOR 1.x, 6/10 SWTOR 2.x, 7/10 SWTOR 3.x, 8/10 SWTOR 4.x, 9/10 There are only three things that bother me so far about 4.0: 1. Level 65 crafting. I think anyone should be able to craft level 65 gear but this isn't the case. I still haven't figured out how to get schematics for any level 65 gear except implants, which were trainable, but still require HM Ops mats to craft. I think it's silly for crafting to require mats or schematics from the content you need them for. It's like a catch-22 that boggles the mind. Why aren't any of the other schematics over 55 trainable? I don't get this. How do you get schematics again? I keep hearing conflicting information and I'm just baffled by it all. 2. Everyone gets the same companions, a bunch of strangers you can't customize except for color crystal, and you lose all your old companions except maybe one if you do the KotFE story. For this reason I've only gone through KotFE on one character and I still kind of regret it. 3. Overwhelming number of items that require storage, or at least, make you not want to throw them away. I love collecting cosmetic gear but I wish there was some kind of collection system for Bind on Legacy items instead of having to take up cargo space. I believe BW did this to encourage people to spend Cartel Coins on storage expansions. I love the level sync, although I agree it needs at least some kind of slider so you can choose your own difficulty between min and max. I love how they've made almost all of the old FP's and heroics relevant. I skipped most of the endgame stuff past vanilla and just leveled alts through 2.0 and 3.0 so it's cool I get to see all that stuff I missed and actually get something out of it. The FP bolstering and level sync system means I can take almost any character and play it with my friends and family without wasting their time or mine, and without having to worry about keeping characters synced up to play with friends/family who never log on. I don't miss having to gear up companions but at least (until they fix it) weapons still make a difference. I used to run old heroics all the time trying to earn enough commendations to gear up my companions but it was a HUGE mountain to climb. I gave up on my dream of maxing all my companions a looong time ago. So I don't mind the "grind to 50 influence" system because it's a lot like the old system of gearing companions in terms of being a huge mountain to climb, but it doesn't bother me at all for being there. To me, 50 is a hard limit I'll probably never reach on more than one or two companions and that's fine. Even without it they're still (thanks to 4.0.2a) as good as they were in 3.x, and in some cases better. I'm totally okay with that. Overall 4.0 is the best SWTOR has ever been in my book. There are still a few bugs, especially with classic content (broken missions, missing companions) but I know they got a lot of those fixed in 4.0.2a. SWTOR just keeps on getting better and better, and it's why after 3 years off and on (but staying subscribed) it's now my #1 go-to MMO. Until they resurrect City of Heroes (or one of the successors gets off the ground), SWTOR is home.
  12. This was my #1 complaint about the design when SWTOR first came out. It's why I choose to play on a less populated server (Begeren Colony) and if there's ever an overflow map, I'll switch to it. I can't stand having to do PVP in a PVE game and that's exactly what non-shared quest objectives force you to do... you're PVP'ing with people to click first. If I see someone questing in the same area, sometimes I'll toss them a blind invite, sometimes I'll whisper them, and sometimes I'll ignore them. Every once in a while someone will toss me an invite and I'll always accept. The outcome usually ends up about the same either way... about a 30% success rate. Bioware should make it a priority to either make grouping obligatory (compulsory) in these types of outdoor quest areas. If everyone's in the same vicinity and on the same quest, they're grouped automatically, even if only behind the scenes. Public quests have been a thing since at least Warhammer Online (maybe earlier). GW2 does it, a lot of other MMO's do it, and to me it's the only viable way to make an MMO work. It's immersion breaking to see a bunch of other people running around doing the same thing you're doing but nobody shares the credit. If they do that, they should also take a page from GW2's playbook and have areas scale up in difficulty based on how many players are around. Maybe public questing and scaling is something the Hero Engine is incapable of, but obviously it either takes more effort than BW deems it worth, or it's a deliberate design decision. If it's the latter, I find that rather disappointing.
  13. Same here. I'm waiting on my other characters until they come back through the story. I just don't feel like building up influence on all those "strangers".
  14. I lost Nadia, my favorite companion (so far) of all the classes, and it eats at me every day. I keep thinking about clicking on that terminal to get her back but then I'm like "No, wait, it'll mean more when you get her back through the story." But dangit! No, I haven't done it on any of my other characters for that very reason. I don't like any of the new companions all that much, except a couple are okay. There are only two females and the rest are all aliens, droids, or dudebros. And then the females, can't really run with them with my main 'cause I only have eyes for Nadia. At least I got Qyzen back. He was never my favorite but he was a Consular companion to begin with so... yeah. The whole losing companions thing is my least favorite thing about KotFE. I wish they would have made it a priority to bring those back through the story FIRST before adding all these strangers to the roster.
  15. Yep, I was on the forums tabbed out of the game almost the whole time playing after the companion nerf (and leading up to it 'cause I saw it coming). Now that companions are cool again I've just been nonstop running around playing. Interestingly enough I've been playing mostly in groups, often with one or no companions at all!
