I have updated my drivers, which i keep saying over and over again. Tried stable drivers, tried beta drivers, tried various older drivers. T_T

I know that Turning on bloom 'causes this but I didn't pay 2000 euro for a gaming computer to play with inferior graphics, especially since TOR is one of the extremely few games I play. Now step in and tell me that Bloom was designed for Nvidia users pls so I know that I can (and then will) switch to 780 ti.

Some extras from TOR:

why the heck is this happening... The only ppl i know with those are ppl with AMDs. ;/

I would say it is a bug , likely in the video driver for that card specific to that model of architecture with dx9 (help to confirm others with the same identical card have the same issue), either AMD or Bioware can patch to fix it.

Just need one or both to look at it I would say.

Are you running 14.2 Beta 1.3 ? this addresses Directx 9 application issues under dual graphics, maybe related (this game is directx 9) ? - http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=386956

Edit - Looks like latest is 14.3 Beta 3

Known Issues - Flickering lighting seems mainly crossfire related though, but does match what you are seeing currently
Spoiler

Is it possible to somehow have crossfire enabled on a single card?

I haven't looked into the design of the R9 200 series, but given the known issues that appears to occur with DirectX and flickering , how feasible is it this is another issue they simply haven't listed ? need to know if others with your card are affected the same

Edit - thief lighting flickering occurs with crossfire disabled

Found another guy who had different brand's r9 290 and had same issue with weird icons but he fixed them with new drivers :/

Owen, could cpu or motherboard cause such effects?

Nope I cant think how, this will be a directx / driver thing

Edit - I would wait for the next beta driver if they are fixing the flickering in thief, which isn't crossfire enabled when it occurs

Edit 2 - how is your monitor connected ?

Display port but before it I used an old, 10 year old monitor and had my icon issues when using dvi so I don't think it's related.

btw the 14-something beta drivers for ccc give me nasty fps on the fleet.

Owen, you think buying this will help me?

I use a GTX670 myself , so I am biased

It is a decision you will have to make I'm afraid, my gut says this maybe resolved on the next beta driver but that is on the assumption its related to the issue with Thief and they do fix that issue on the next beta, but going Nvidia is certainly one way to solve the current issue I would say.

Looking at a lot of recent flickering issues - http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...14-1-beta-1-6/

It also says the current drivers need to be fully uninstalled first , is this something you have tried ?
