I don't want to go down a slippery slope by banning certain abilities. Arguably, there's something OP about every single class. Pretty soon this will turn into a giant troll thread of OMG NERF [Insert OP class/ability].

can we not have operative healers though? incredibly unfair when they spam their insta heal that doesn't cost any energy when their below 30% max health

It's less about banning abilities and more about banning certain tactics.

All stealth classes can just re-enter stealth thus exiting combat, use a stealth stun, for example, sleep dart, then use their rest ability to get their health back to full. As for classes with a heal tree, they have an activation stun which lasts long enough for themselves up to full health. In the case of aadness sorc, they can spec for instant whirlwind. IMO I just consider those two tactics to be far too huge of an advantage to overlook.

Maybe the tournament should just be same AC vs. same AC, because this balancing of ability usage is never going to work.

the best solution is to just have a tournament with no rules imo. All medpacs, all grenades, all abilities, no restrictions on what u can do or how u can play. even if its not an accurate depiction of player skill, at least it gives u a good idea about class balance in game.
