[Proposal] ideas for BioWare/EA to save the game while making a fortune

I'd say lots of the suggestions seem quite fair. But I am worried about one thing..

Changing the Advanced Class
The reason for this to not work is mainly because of the fact the two Advanced Classes are totally different. The best example I can think of is the Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior.
Jedi Guardian/Sith Juggernaut: A single bladed fighter/protector that wears heavy armor. This class is meant for either damaging your foes heavily or protection your allies from taking damage
Jedi Sentinel/Sith Marauder: A skilled dual wielding blades-man that only exists to deal all kinds of massive damage with it's two lightsabers while wearing medium armor to stay mobile. Any damage taken can drop the Sentinel/Marauders health quickly.

To get it all straightend up; You switch to a whole new aspect of gameplay. Your character his armor will change (from Heavy armor to Medium armor). You should get a new weapon and all of a sudden, your character has the ability to wield two lightsabers, even after years of fighting single-handed.

The reason something like an AC exists is to have 4 different stories for every faction. Imagine if they have to DOUBLE the story lines. If Marauder and Juggernaut were it's own classes. A Marauder and a Juggernaut will have to do different things, whole new story writen lines.. It's just too much work, and the game probably would be released now (or maybe not even yet). That's the reason For Marauder/Juggernaut and Sentinel/Guardian to share one thing: Being a Sith Warrior/Jedi Knight.
A AC isn't the same as a Talent Tree, choosing your AC is making the choise of the class ITSELF.
I got the stuff, if you got the credits. If not, beat it kid!

That was the position of BioWare until a recent interview. They now view the ability to change your advanced class an eventuality. That being said, faction swapping still isn't going to happen, at least.

"An eventuality". That's almost saying like "Well, you might go on a date with Mila Kunis tonight."

As for the interview.. Would you meant posting a link of it? I am highly curious to it, because switching AC is something I highly doubt happening, atleast in the fact of implementing AC over switching faction. (All the race/class combination are already possible)

That's "possibility" you're thinking of, not "eventuality."

And Dulfy seems to be down, so here's the cached version.

Will be there any faction or Advanced Class change option available for purchase in the future?

We have had serious talks recently about offering an Advanced Class change option Ė I think that one will likely happen eventually. Species is likely as well. Doing a faction switch is considerably more difficult for us, though, due to the various quest flags set throughout the level up process, so this isnít on the horizon anytime soon.

They have a term for it. It's called a retcon. In fact, they could even call it that when they make it an option.

they don't need a storyline option for allowing this, and most players probably don't care so much about the story that the idea of a retcon would phase them.

The only thing that might be worth considering is being able to change the look of your character (ie image design swg style) but not anything else.

as for changing the sex, that would be tatally game breaking oooh look at me im a male commando! ooh ooh now im a female! no way man

I wouldnt be here for long if that was introduced
"Shoot a nuke down a bug hole, you got a lot of dead bugs"

Its not a Meatree....it's an Ambush!

They're already making money hand-over-fist with the gambling packs. Why would they even think to work harder than they have to in producing those?

Now, Cartel Market is they way you chose to implement your moneymaker strategy. How long will it stay efficient with only new robes + occasional pod racer and whatnot?

Here are my proposals for the Cartel Market that are truly no-brainer and are sure to meet approval with the playerbase.

1. Introduce the ability to manage advanced account-related issues. Put this under 'Authorizations' tab. Here should be packs to allow single/multiple characters server AND/OR account transfer. The price would be quite high (just see other MMOs), but you'd be astonished how many of us would pay.
2. Put in a pack to change advanced class. There is nothing gamebreaking about it. If needed, put it on the Legacy system and attach a requirement (say, lvl 40 Legacy) so as not to obliterate the grind in the game. Justification: some of us have mains (i.e. the ones we've started to explore SWTOR) which we'd really like to respec, those chars are simply not rerollable. Make it expensive, but make it happen.
3. Release a special EXP booster to allow lightning-fast leveling to 50. This should be introduced through the Legacy system for those of us with 50 Legacy levels (currently no reward/unlock for that). What I would pay for is a booster that would make it possible for me to just get lvl 50 through doing Story quests. Example: I have a lot of tech user characters and no force users - not my thing - but running all the planets again just to see a class story and get the class buff? PvPiing for a month, ORLY? Boring and tedious - and that leads to the Dark side (i.e. no sub => no money). This could also be expensive, but called for (plus the 50 Legacy level requirement is a good stimulus for most players and a great reward for us oldtimers).
4. Put in some character recustomization packs. My personal favourite! See link in signature for details. TL;DR: it is called for and it's NOT technically difficult: you buy your pack and upon use return to the character creation screen. There you get to change the options you paid for - depending on pack - name, race, cosmetic details. Sex would be harder for the present companion affection system. This one is a complete no-brainer, instant money for minimal effort!
5. Introduce some minor questing content packs. The HK quest series inspired me for this idea. Put in more minor questline packs with some investigation implied, add a unique little reward = loads of greatful buyers!

These are just ideas that sprung to me, I request all interested forum users to provide additional ideas! Let's make our favourite game interesting and profitable, and everyone's a winner!
Fine suggestions. Though none of them are new to the MMO world, they sure would be a welcome set of services.

All you, "OMG! Im qutting sub if Bioware doez this!" are comical. Please share how this affects your gameplay?

You gotta love people who thinks the game needs "saving" and if it does that their suggestion is the way the help

What i read is:

I want to pay my way up to lvl 50....
Why you play a game when wanna "lightning-speed" to lvl 50?
if you're really "that oldtimer" you should have all casses on lvl 50 by now...
