I have to say that I loved this quest. It was fun going through areas and not knowing what to expect.

I'm not a big fan of HK but It was a new thing to do and I did not read any hints or guides before hand.

As I stood with my group outside the outlaws den I almost didn't want to as I am not a PvPer, however I made the first few steps and got flagged, not know what we needed to do we started to use our scanners, we did see a few "red" names running around but they seemed to leave us alone, only one person came over and started on one of the other group members but 2 people took him out.

When we got to the vendor a bunch of people were standing around and again no one was attacking each other so I ported out and turned off my flag.

I do have a few friends that like to PvP and it isn't as much fun when you are against someone who does not want to as they will most likely stand and let you kill them so they leave you alone.

Oh look a thread about an entitled kid who wants the new content but not have to work for it.

Besides if you actually read this thread you will see that this is not as big a deal as all of you are QQing about it.

Again there are plenty of ways to get the component from the vendor without engaging in PvP.

I understand the point you are trying to make but unless you are on a pvp server you do get to chose to enage in pvp if you wish. And I would be the first to tell you I am a horrible pvp player since I never do it. lol.

Yes I know you can use comps in FPs, but nobody ever does because they are trash compared to a player. The only time you would use a comp in a FP is when you're doing some lower level FP for whatever reason, and those don't matter.

I was more outraged by that posters missunderstanding of what free will entails.

I play mainly on PvE Servers. I mainly Solo. I am not entirely pleased that I will have to run an OP and risk some PvP. But, such is life. If I want the companion those are the critia that I have to abide by to obtain said companinon. The price of an HK droid is a little PvP and an OP (in addition to some jumping puzzles ( how I loath those ... Lol) ).

That poster failed to realize that his "choice" was bound by what he agreed to in the EULA.

It was extreem to say it was a violation of his free will. I would say if his free will is so easily violated then he doesn't diserve his "free will".

Someone didn't read any posts.

It was about how griefing would be taking place because of this. And this thread predicted the obvious. It's been pretty bad on some servers.

Maybe it woud be better to say some don't rather than nobody as we can't talk for everyone. . My friend will only group with people she knows because some of the people she finds that wants to do them are jerks and are rude. She is one that will not group with wih rude people on the game when the game is meant to be fun so there are times that her and her friends are one short and they use a companion.

You may disagree with the way she groups but she has a choice on who to group with and the ones that she finds that constantly are rude and yell at her because of her lag. I understand her point why group with people that are consantly yelling . It takes the fun out so she limits her grouping with her friends or with my guild members.

I don't dig PvP. It's one of the last things on my to-do list for games. That said, I'm fine with needing to go to the vendor in the PvP free-for-all area to buy a thing or three - but of course, I say that as someone who's going to go after the HK parts probably a month or so down the line, so I won't have to worry about anyone camping the vendor. It'll be harder to nab the Flashpoint and World parts, but hey - at least I won't need to worry about getting killed fifteen times trying to buy two items.
The average person thinks he isn't.

Get off your ship on Tatooine. Open your world map. Above the small full map there is a dropdown menu. Select a different Tatooine phase.

When we went there for our HK part there were pubs camping the vendor, but in phase 2 there was nobody there. We didn't even bother switching phases, though, we just formed an ops and rushed the vendor all at once. The pubs didn't bother screwing with 12 of us and let us buy our HK piece without any problems.

As a person who gravitates to the PvP aspect of any given MMO I could equally complain at the requirement to run False Emperor or HM Foundry, except I don't because it's one mission for a fluff item, not some overpowered winning ticket, just a ranged DPS companion. You can suck it up this one time to do a mission because you love the KOTOR reference or you can just say screw it and not worry about it.

Alternatively you can wait until the interest dies down in a few days/weeks and try it then relatively grief free.

I just ran the HK mission on my second toon. My first encounter in the Outlaw's Den was easy-breezy, so I figured my second one just had to be a disaster (law of averages, right)?

I logged on at around 10am PST Saturday morning on a West Coast server on my Shadow Tank, ported to Tatooine, stealthed and went into the Den. I was prepared, you know?

I made it all the way back to the Jawa vendor without seeing a single player. Heck, I was almost disappointed. Bought the part, QT out.
