He asked his master to join him when he was rescuing Ulic and seems hesitated for a moment before killed his master. Those who took Sith training from the beginning always enjoy killing their master to break their "chain". He also rarely betray his men as a Sith Lord, only Crado.

Those who betray each other become the betrayed.

^I made that up myself
Hapan: "This creature has information that could lead us to a woman who has been kidnapped. We will get that information."
Luke: "This woman is a citizen of the New Republic, and if you do not take your hands off her, I will take your hands off you."

Crado was weak.
After Ulic had bested him when they were both under Vodo Baas' tutelage, and then went on to best Sylvar and Master Vodo (whilst demonstrating his ability with dual wielding), Crado scraped and wormed at his feet like a lame animal waiting to be put out of his misery. His failure in taking out Master Thon, and leaving Oss Willum behind (useful tool for Exar Kun) was the last nail in his coffin. Crado deserved what he got.

Sith don't go about casually betraying their Masters or Apprentices.
When something/someone is no longer of any use to them, or they find greater potential for their own personal gain in something/someone else, then they'll betray. Just not out of whimsy.
