i'd be happy with DX11 support, but yeah, 64-bit version as well, can only improve perf.

Very good suggestion, I am seconding it. In our modern age. more and more people opt to use a 64bit OS over 32 bit.

yeah, one of which repeatedly crashes for me when it takes up more than 3GB of ram (happens only on Ilum). I know many people are having this problem too.

Has anyone tried patching the exe theirselves?

I know its possible - Skyrim community patched the Skyrim client before the developers did, allowing 4GB+ to be used.

Only question remains - would such a thing affect our standing with Bioware - eg - Would it be detected as cheat/hack attempt, or would they graceously allow us to do so?

I can't support this idea - it's a significant chunk of dev and qa resources for minimal benefit.
