SWTOR NEEDS Pazaak and Pod Racing

Pazaak ASAP. Betting of all kinds. Weekly faction Tourneys. Monthly server tourneys. 1 yearly best of server vs other best of server tourney with massive payouts (All American servers vs eachother and all Euro servers vs Euro servers)

Casual Pod Racing. Ranked Pod Racing with betting. Server wide monthly tourneys. Maybe a all servers tourney as well for the top ranked pod racers on ever server

Do this and SWTOR will be much cooler.:w_cool:

I think this game needs a lot more reasons to spend our money. At level 50 there's very little to do with it.

  • Pazaak
  • Sabaac
  • Pod racing on Tatooine
  • Swoop Bike racing
  • Tauntan racing on Hoth
  • Casino games on Nar Shadda.
  • Space ship racing (assuming we get full control of our ships at some point).

Touraments, casual "one time" playing. I'm for it all.

Hehe, I turn on KOTOR 2 every once in a while with a toon parked on Nar Shadaa in the Pazak Den there and play for and hour or two just for fun. Up to about a half million credits now.

Yeah I agree with the other mini games mentioned here. I am sure some of those will come to fruition with time.

These all sound amazing.

at least one of them shoulda been in the game at launch and I was shocked Pazaak wasnt. Im gonna guess that either they didnt have enough time to add it or purposefully didnt put it in so they could add it later in an xpac as a feature.

In fact I have a bad feeling that many many common MMO features werent in the game at launch so Bioware could add them later in order to have more interesting things for expansions and go, "hey Joe Public! Were adding guild banks and combat logs just like you asked!, now resubscribe because were doin good!"

Pod racing would be cool.

Wouldn't it rock if you could have your own customizable speeder, have guild tourneys and regular ones for prizes. Guilds could have custom paint jobs showing there colors lol. Just seems like there isn't any customizing so far :( hopefully down the road.

Yes that would be awesome.

So Bioware wont ever do it. You will get a new flashpoint tho which gives gear you wont ever use.

LOL omg I totally forgot about Pazaak:)

If it's not in tommorow i'm done with this game. Should have been in at launch. Grrrr!!!!!!!!!

I agree.

Pazaak should have been in the game at launch along with basic features like a combat log, lfg tool of any kind, auto follow that actually works, and a laundry list of other things which this game lacks.

SWTOR has the biggest budget in MMO history and they cant even launch with a combat log. :jawa_tongue:

Pazaak ASAP! It's simple to implement, we're already familiar with the game, takes no time at all to play, huge replay value (its a card game!), there's a personal touch in the form of "your deck" and the cards you have AND you can play each other given that this is a MMO!

tbh, no Pazaak is the only thing i really hold against Bioware for not introducing it with the launch :D. I'm no IT-expert but surely putting Pazaak in the game is no towering challenge.

The ironic thing is that as much as some people think that tunnel shooter gameplay is insufficient for space combat, that style of gameplay is actually perfect for Pod Racing. It almost boggles the mind why they didn't go with that format first if they were struggling with the concept of "full control space combat":

  • Avatar: Swap the ship for a pod racer.
  • Background: Instead of space, have a horizon and sky.
  • Environment: Swap asteroids+space, for ground+tunnels+canyons. Stick Tusken Raiders on the hillsides firing at the players as they pass by.

Keep the undulating pathways that snake across open ground and between tight canyon walls.

And voilá, an almost perfect recreation of Episode 1's pod racing event.

For sure.

Also imagine if they made Pod Racing where its either similar to like Road Rash where you can punch, kick, slam into, or shoot at your opponents to make them crash or even go with a Pod Racing format like you described but with Mario Kart like power ups which give boosts and special attacks like dropping an oil slick behind your pod, or a homing missle, rockets, speed boost. Would be epic and wildly popular I bet.

You make a bloody good point. And such a system would be very easy to turn into a competitive minigame with multiple human players.

I don't know why MMOs seem to shun away from adding all sort of side things and only work on adding new raid content. I would love to have little fun events.

Because us raiders need more raids which drop the same gear (Columni, Rakata) which we already have.

Endgame is very poorly itemized. Heck the Rakata weapons are T3 and they are WORSE than the Columni which are T2. :csw_jabbapet:

Well Swoop Racing had those panels on the floor which gave you a speed boost when you went over them. So, i don't think it would be beyond the realms of possibility to allow players access to "nitro" boost items, and other bits and pieces. Though rockets and missiles is perhaps going a little too far.

They could also put obstacles in the way, funnel people down tight alleys, and other ways to spice it up.

A new dungeon here and there is fine and all but I'd also like to see unique events and yes side things to do. I think MMOs can really be something other then just killing the latest and greatest group of bosses every expansion or content patch.

I agree. The game needs depth. And just rolling out flashpoints, operations and warzones really doesn't add depth. It adds width (i.e. more of the same).

I believe in one of the interviews the devs briefly mentioned an "event system". And James Ohlen has elluded to single player flashpoints as well as the obligatory group based stuff (flashpoints, operations and warzones). They also mentioned something about space combat too, which they won't give details on.

However, the more the merrier I say :)
