Sensor Beacon Clarification

Does anyone have specific data on the base numbers for a sensor beacon? The sensor/communication ranges are not spelled out anywhere, and the debuff they apply to evasion is 5km. Tier 2 upgrade increases the sensor and communication ranges by 5km.... but what is the total? If it is 10km, that's pretty useless unless you're there anyway.

I'm not sure what the total is but it's not necessarily totally useless assuming the communication range is of equal size as it could significantly boost the range of sensors for people defending an objective.

Now granted with the current map size most ship's sensors have a large enough range to cover a good portion of the current maps but I'd imagine if larger maps are made and/or dampening tweaked from it's current functionality it will become much more useful/essential to success. Which would be cool if they made scouting for enemies a much more essential role than it currently is.

The sensor boosting is only a secondary effect. The main benefits are the accuracy boost/penalty, the increased difficulty opponents have tab targeting over to you, and the surprisingly large chance they have of at least temporarily mistaking the beacon for you.
