Will SWTOR run this laptop?

Laptop: bad idea for gaming unless you buy a gaming laptop.

Integrated Graphics: TERRIBLE for gaming in any way.

Do a search for Refurbished ASUS gaming laptops, you can usually snag them up for about that price and they run games great.

I've tested this game on three different low-end mobile units, you HAVE TO SPEND a bit more money than you currently priced for. These units on Amazon UK provide the best playability - as in being able to do dailies, and even hang out on the fleet:

Keep in mind patch 1.1.5 or maybe 1.2, can't remember which, is going to support a VERY LOW option, I bet the frames and smoothness will increase even more on these units as I already do Ilum dailies at around 26 fps with everything low at 1366x768. Shaders are set to OFF.

These are all HD3000 units with rather nice CPUs over 2GHz lets you do mobile TOR and at a very nice resolution too.

The First Laptop you posted might be able to run it, but not very well. Go one step further and buy the Acer 5755G, it has a GTX 540m card. (Can also run Skyrim with MAX settings at 40 - 60 FPS.) I have this laptop, and can run the game at 60 FPS on max settings minus shadows on the native resolution. I perfer playing the game on my PC though :)

Edit: I have the i7 Version, but the i5 shouldn't make much difference. Here a video i recored with Fraps on the 5755G:

I just rendered it wrong but all settings are at MAX with Shadows OFF just for recording purpose. Edited by RealmShifter

I am going to buy a laptop soon for uni and it would be really unpractical to take my desktop. so does anyone think this would be able to run most games on a low setting?

Or would it be worth having 2 gig less ram and having an I5 and getting this?

I'd rather have 4 gig of ram and less hard drive space to have a better graphics card but all the laptops with goodish graphics cards are £700+

Getcha a nice MacBook pro and run swtor on bootcamp. It'll have just about the best graphics you can get on a non-Alienware laptop

Or, keep with me here, spend the same amount of money for twice the power. Or spend half the money for the same power.

But hey, if you want to throw away money for an Apple stamp on the same products you can purchase cheaper (the same exact product mind you), all the more power to you.

No, not really. You can get graphics just as good for half the cost. The Apple markup is huge, and justified (in a business sense) only by the fact that they can con so many people into paying it.

This is where I go to see if my rig is compatible and if not to see what I need to up.

Kind of useless when he doesn't have the machine...

As for the linked machine, very hard to judge as it doesn't mention the graphics card...

Frankly, unless you ABSOLUTELY MUST have a laptop, there no reason at all to go for a laptop for games. You are better off with a desktop in every way.

Im in New Zealand so my prices are a bit dif but we dropped 2K (NZ) on a Dell XPS 15 a year ago and included in that we got the 9 cell battery and the custom top thing so was prob about 1800NZD in total and this suprisingly runs STWOR on max settings perfectly I hav taken to using this in the morning before work rather than booting up my monste rin the man cave.
