Too clear the air, I'll say that I definitely enjoyed the times I did do TFB. It's a fun operation.

 

But am I the only one kind of confuzzled about related lore? I recall certain enemies being fought as being said too originate OUTSIDE the galaxy, which in star wars lore only applies to yuuzhan vong I think.

 

And what exactly is the Terror from Beyond? The only thing I can think of is a corrupted Gree but that doesn't sit well with me.

I think they were deliberately going for something new and different with TFB, the idea that the Gree and then the Dread Masters had "dug too deep" and unleashed something terrible that was beyond what the galaxy was used to dealing with. I don't think it's a corrupted Gree, I think it's just something that is truly *alien* (think H.P. Lovecraft, if you're familiar with his type of cosmic monsters).

 

It's definitely not something that shows up often in Star Wars, but there have been some times in the EU lore where things from "Beyond" show up - Waru, from the book The Crystal Star, comes to mind. Abeloth, from the Fate of the Jedi novels, may not have originated from outside the galaxy, but she's another example of this sort of "Other" or "Eldritch Abomination" type of threat showing up.

 

Also, I believe the Hypergates are new to Star Wars Lore, so the consequences of them would be new territory.

Hyper gates have been in the lore for a while. They were created by the gree before the rakata came around. The Gree stopped using them and became isolated during the era of the celestials.

I meant "new" in the sense that SW:TOR was what introduced them into the lore a little over a year ago, in other words there wouldn't be any mention of what sort of trouble they can cause in anything published/released before 2011.

Creating story costs to much money, more profit in making repeatable dailies and fluff items on the cartel shop....
