The real Foundry problem.

Looking at the foundry flashpoint I realized something.

Revan is in charge.

Revan is designing a race of genocide droids.

Revan is not hiding this from his subordinates.

Revan is backed by the republic in this. Proven by the large number of republic shipping supplying it.

Revan is openly backed by the Jedi order in this plan. This is proved by the large number of Jedi Masters in the foundry. Given that Satele Shan is known to withhold the master title from those deemed too tainted or not close enough to the order's ideals....

In conclusion: The Jedi order are engaging in genocide with the council's backing.

Revan has gone a little loopy after 300 years or imprisonment and torture, and while he does have Republic support, you are making a rather large leap in logic claiming he is backed by the Jedi.

Look to Revan's previous lore, he is charismatic and always had a gift rallying people to his cause, so it's not too far of a stretch to think that Republic troops and Jedi abandoned their posts and severed official ties to follow the legend, like so many have done before.

Problem with the 'they went rogue' idea.

Satele Shan has shown to not be shy about denying the master title from Jedi she feels do not deserve it.

There were masters in the foundry. It also had open republic support.

OTOH, the idea of Shan going along with such an idea, coming from her charismatic and legendary ancestor... that makes more sense.

There were Jedi NPCs in the foundry. The foundry was protected by republic fleet. If you listened to the NPC talk, while the players are inside the foundry, the empire is engaging the republic fleet outside.

Couple points:

- "genocidal robot army" are Malgus' (or was it HK-47?) words, right? He may paint a different picture than Revan talking to jedi council. (It always bothers me how easily people take anything that comes out of the mouths of NPCs as 'canon'). In my opinion Revan thinking that Sith must be eradicated from the galaxy is plausible. Its a different issue how Revan got republic backing for this. Its quite possible that Republic leaders or Jedi council accepted Revans help just because they felt they needed help, and didnt think of it going as far as genocide. One asteroid does not yet a genocide make.

It would be interesting to see if player characters could confront Satele Shan about Revans plan later on, maybe in new not yet released flashpoints.
