Jedi Knights get Force Leap at level 2. Shadow/Assassins get Phantom Stride/Shadow Stride at 51. Vanguards/PTs get it at level 61. Getting your gap closing skill at such a high level feels horrible and makes the class feel unfun when leveling. Vanguards especially have it bad because their DCDs are horrible too. Change the skill trees around and make every Melee class learn their gap closer at least level 10-20, but even lower would be best.

Walking up to enemies at level 50 feels absolutely ridiculous. As a ranged character your mobility isn't as much as an issue except for dodging aoes, but for a melee class it ends up effecting your DPS too.
It's a super easy fix too, I don't understand why this hasn't been addressed already.

I feel your pain. Scoundrel doesn't get Trick Move, hands down the best gap closer in the game because it's the only one that works on friend or enemy, until level 51 or something. I got my scrapper to 75 three weeks ago and I still forget I have it sometimes.

"All Melee Classes" aka Smuggler/OP, Guardian/ Jugg, Sentinel/Marauder, and Vanguard/PT. If you're melee you get an ability to rapidly charge towards a target.

Currently Force Leap is learned at level 2 but all the other gap closers are learned at a ridiculously high level.

You can't really compare the short cd force leap to the long cd abilities like phantom stride.

Shadow/Assassins get their main gap closer, force speed, before level 10.

It would be nice if non-force user melee could get their movement abiltites sooner, (which is actually roll for scoundrel/ops, not the buggy holotransverse), but I don't think it's worth putting resources into overhauling the levelling process for something that won't change how classes play at max level.
Stealthy heals, stealthy dps, stealthy life.
