Why haven't you fixed Shadow/Assassin's Training?

Four months after release and you still haven't fixed this passive?

Shadow's Training

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank, and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%.

This passive is NOT increasing the damage on Project or Shock. Fix it or change the tooltip. There's no excuse for this to be ongoing into another month.

Hey there,

I'd like to say officially that Shock/Project do in fact deal 25% more damage if you are a Shadow or an Assassin. The tooltip, however, only displays the lower value which is an issue we are working on addressing but cannot at this time.

If you strongly feel that same level/gear's classes are not dealing this extra damage, please bug this in game with the new combat logs and we can investigate further. However, all the internal testing we have done on this issue confirms solidly that the extra damage is being applied.

Suppose they don't want 7k projects from infils and 4k projects from kc to bring new threads filled with tears about the op shadows and sins?

I propose a better fix, remove then 25% from tooltip, and make project deal internal dmg for shadows / shock for sins. This way you have good dmg vs all armor types, and don't depend on a freaking 12-15s discharge / force breach to do some decent dmg (if it crits).

Reword the tooltip.

No.Reread the tooltip.

ok

increases endurance by 5 per rank, yes you get more endurance with every rank.

increases damage dealt by shock by 25%...... once....... when you train rank one. it does not increase it by another 25% each rank after that, if it did shocks would be way too strong

new rank would say 50% instead... The bonus is applied and it was proven working correctly in january, no issue here.

Because besides this little ability this class is just OK or even OP in matter of dmg.

OP with an Hybrid tank spec maybe, not with a pure spec.

I really want bigger projects! And also add them a different effect - shadow only (in your face sins!) depending what you project. IE: rocks - target endurance debuffed by 10%, lasts 12 seconds, robots - target main stat debuffed by 10%, lasts 12 seconds, debris - target armor rating debuffed by 10%, lasts 12 seconds.

I'd like to see more debuffs added to tank specs in general, like debuff endurance or main stat (str, aim, cunning, willpower etc).

No, it´s says

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank, and increases the base damage dealt by Shock by 25%.

Not "Increases your total Endurance by 5 and the base damage dealt by Shock by 25% per rank."

The second one means an increasing by 25% of the Shock Damage each rank, the first means an one-time 25% bonus and just the Endurence-bonus is increased with any new ranks (by an additional 5 Points).

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank, and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%.

alright lets read it one more time.

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank

then there is the coma

then

and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%

after that it is the end, there is no "per rank" attached to the "and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%" part

Tank spec doesn't need a debuff, the DPS specs could use a hand though.

To anyone who has a basic understanding of the english language, it says

+5 per rank

AND

+25% damage.

Not +25% damage per rank.

Correct. We all know that it says exactly that. The problem arises when you get rank 2, 3, 4, or 5 of this passive ability, and it has the exact same wording. So why upgrade from Rank 1 if Rank 2 gives an identical buff ?

Also, when they say +5 Endurance per rank, is that rank of the ability, or rank of the character ? Because paying thousands of credits for each rank of the ability for a meager +5 Endurance is a joke.

Right now even Rank 5 of the ability has the exact same tooltip:

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank, and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%.

There is no incentive to pay thousands of credits for an ability that seems to have not changed at all from Rank 1.

They need to re-word the tooltip to say:

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank of this ability, and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%.

or:

Increases your total Endurance by 5 per rank of your character, and increases the base damage dealt by Project by 25%.

K... lets add some personal testing results about a variety of bugs affecting Project (Or its tooltip):

- Shadow Training. Adds 5 endurance per rank and a one time 25% bonus to final damage of Project. Project's tooltip DOESN'T include this 25% damage bonus... It stays as if you were a Sage.

- Clarvoyance. 1 Stack of Clarvoyance is NOT giving 15% damage increase both on REAL impacts or on the tooltip. 2 Stacks of Clarvoyance work as intended by giving 30% damage to Project (And the tooltip).

EDIT: I haven't rechecked how the status of this 2 bugs are on current PTS build, but they are like that on current Live build.

Checking both bugs is very easy to do... Remove all expertise from yourself and get the help of another player and be sure the player is naked and without any kind damage reduction (expertise, tanking stance reduction or passive reductions coming from skills).

So it's okay to have a misleading tooltip? Lol. Simple fix: Reword the tooltip.

PTs/VGs Ion Cell/Cylinder has a similar problem. Although our Tooltip changes with Power/Aim like it should it does like 17% of the damage that is listed =/

No word on BW yet on if it's an ability issue or tooltip issue.

Glad to know we aren't the only class with that problem :)

Okay. Can we get confirmation on how the endurance buff from thie training works? Is it 5 per level of the character, or 5 per rank of the skill?

Because if it's the ladder, that is really not worth it to spend 100K credits on 250 hitpoints. As some people have pointed out, that's less than one tick of a DoT.

Fix please?

I would tend to agree with what your saying. It costs a lot to get through the ranks of this to only receive a +5 End boost per rank, giving you 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 at the respective ranks. Training on higher ranks of skills is very disproportionate to the cost of new abilities at higher levels which is very odd to me.

I can understand why it isn't any better though. They don't want Shdaow or Assassin DPS specs having a ton of health. I would say that maybe something in the tank specs could be changed to increase this amount to say 10 or 15 per rank. That makes it something very beneficial for the tank specs that give up the damage output for survivability and keeps the DPS specs from having too much health.

Side note: Usually per rank means rank of the ability.
