Even though its not made for PVP, I took away some very good tips on heat management, which is the main drawback of using it in PVP... well, aside from the fact that Arsenal is bonkersburst.

 

The only thing I would ask you: I have to use Thermal Det and Fusion Missile to spread dots. So I typically Serrated to Incendiary, thermal then fusion. Then I net/supercharge, power/mag/unload depending on situation (If I need to move, are they about to eclipse me) and missile blast when they are low. I'll definitely be adding in the TSO in front of the unload on cooldown/as needed.

 

Knowing that my opener includes both dots, thermal and fusion do you have any comments on heat management? Should I just watch it to stay below 40%?

For PVP dot-spreading scenarios, I would use Incendiary Missile > Serrated > Power Shot > Fusion Missile. Fusion Missile costs the same about of Heat/Energy as Power Shot does, so you could use that instead of your second Power Shot during the "High Heat" portion of your rotation. When it comes to spreading your dot from Serrated Shot, that actually spreads from your Explosive Dart, not your Thermal Detonator... So if it was me, a full AOE type rotation would be something like this >>

 

Incendiary Missile > Serrated > Power Shot > Fusion Missile > Mag Shot > Explosive Dart > Death From Above (with Thermal Sensor Overide)> Power Shot > Electro Net > Mag Shot

 

For a more general answer to your question, yes, keep it below 40% heat unless you have your vent heat or other energy regens available.

This is a great guide, I just swapped to IO after using Arsenal for quite a long time and this was pretty much everything I needed. Just wondering, has anything changed since this was made?

 

They did change the dot spread.

 

Collateral Damage: Increases the damage done by Fusion Missile and Explosive Dart by 25%. Additionally, Fusion Missile and Explosive Dart spread your Incendiary Missile burn and Serrated Shot bleed effects to targets they hit, if they hit a target already affected by your Incendiary Missile burn and Serrated Shot bleed effects.

 

Forget which patch it was, but I'm sure it was just a few months ago. Not really sure if other things changed, I've really only started playing this spec again recently after spending a couple of years as Arsenal.

Cool, thanks! I guess I should consider those for AoE rotation. I've got the single target down as I mainly use this char for ops, but haven't really bothered to look into a good AoE rotation

As an IO player who mains the spec and solo queues regularly I didn't find this very useful. It works pretty well in PvE I suppose. Would not recommend this for PvP though.

he does say at the start that this if for pve only and says to go to someone else for pvp
