Here in this same thread we have alot of people WHO HAVE problems.. Thats called a fact.
All you need is to name your «megazillions» of people who dont have any problems. Just bring the list. Simple.
And then we will talk about logic.

73,666 Total Threads, 515,352 Total Posts
10% of these posts are maybe not about how bad the game is running..
So.. 400+K posts about problems..
Could you explain these numbers?

Find swtor.exe, right click, properties, compatibility, "run as admin" on the bottom.

Control panel, search for firewall, temporarily turn it OFF (SWTOR was already in as an exception
but apparently that's not good enough)

Hasn't fixed the lag any but apparently it has gotten me past the EC9000/CTD.

Amen Brother. However, when people are told to call their ISP's and ask them if they would kindly reroute the internet so we can play SWTOR, it tends to get people mighty frustrated awfully quick.

The problem, I now believe it to be, is that the server client is just too sensitive. This is Biowares problem. Example: MMO #'s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13...etc...etc seem to run perfectly fine, even though there is some packet loss due to congestion. Their developers understood that not every customer has a perfect pristine internet connection and have built in protection to prevent the death of disconnect.

Whereas SWTOR developers did not go this route. They belived everyone had a pristine connection and so built their software without any of thsoe protections that the othe top MMO's have.

Thanks for those of you that offered up the above likely and logical explanation of why this issue affects so many people across so many ISP's all around the world.

People like Mr, Brooks has a pristine connection from Australia so he doesnt understand why so many others are having issues or why we get so frustrated when we are told to call our ISP's. I'm sorry Mr Brooks but you appear to not understand the issue. I'm sure you are a great person and have no doubt you have talent in something.

What we, thsoe that are having problems, need is for an IT specialist who works in the SWTOR team, and who's duties specifically revolve around server and internet protocols to please come forward and explain to us what the heck is happening.

We ONLY want to play SWTOR with the same stability issues of your friend OwenBrooks. That's all we ask. Yes we do get frustrated. Yes, at times we get angry. But you have no idea the frustration that was caused when we were simply told to call our ISP. We felt insulted by the illogical reasoning that led to that ridiculous suggestion.

Please help us Mr BW IT professional. You are our only hope.

This is my final reply to you, whilst I understand you have issues, it would be appreciated if you did not keep using my name in regards to them, my mistake it seems was in trying to help you and for that I apoligise, that was my mistake obviously and it seems my solution for that is to not offer any further help.

So please accept my apology in attempting to help you, that will not happen again.

already like a dozen of these threads, same stupid *** replies from admins. It's quite apparent that no one is actually going to try and fix this.

It's not a constant problem, it's a random or every second day problem. So it's not my ISP, connection or PC it's the gosh darn game. Will run fine for days, then suddenly cannot join the game without having random lag spikes exceeding 50k pings. There's an obvious problem BW so fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So your ISP connects directly to Biowares server? NO

You have no idea how many things are between your computer and their server. If anything in between has an issue then you will feel it.

I would be willing to be many people complaining are also connecting with wireless networks. Are you?

Next time you experience the problem create a thread with a traceroute to your game server. Although traceroute isn't a good tool it can help give an idea of what is going on. It would also help to have a trace of things working as they should.

while a wireless connection could be a part of the problem, I think it is more than that. I have a wireless connection and i have had very little problem with my connection until the lately. So, I think it is more likely something on BWs end, probably the latest updates.

LOL That was exactly my thought. What is his purpose here? Why doesn´t he just enjoy his lag and bug free SWTOR paradise? Why is he mingling with us lost souls in the SWTOR limbo? Please tell me Jarjar, WHY??

That would explain a lot, those insane connectivity issues started after the server merge. Didnt have those issues at all on my original server.

And what about the random "login service unavailable" issue? For some reason whenever I have those major connectivity issues, I suddenly get that screen a lot. Looks pretty much like an unfunctional game client to me.

Also looks like there are less issues on the PTS, been there for the last couple of days and even though the ping is worse, I have less connectivity issues. So maybe we should all abandon the regular servers, move to PTS and start a new lag and crash free life there . Maybe thats what BW intended in the first place, the live servers are only meant for the chosen ones like Owen the Righteous and Jarjar the Shiny, not for inferior creatures like us.. lol
