Chestpiece Color Determined by Skin Tone?

Not sure if this has been discussed before but it would seem that a good many chest pieces in the game have their hue, and sometimes color, determined by your skin tone. The Investigator's robe, the 1200 CC one, is a light pink color on me, on a good friend on mine, it's pure black. On another person I saw it as a deep red. Same goes for many other tops in the game, but this one in particular bothers me. Anyone else having an issue similar to this?

The Investigator's robe looks brown on my twilek's blue skin instead of the bright red it's supposed to look like, I hope they fix this soon. Please we bought this item because we liked the red color... I don't want my chest to be brown and my pants red.... fix it!

I've noticed this while equipping one of my companion with the dance outfit from the Security Vendor.
The red parts from the outfit turns to pink when I give my companion a dark skin customization.
It does however look better that way
