Thinking about upgrading my 2500k when ivy bridge drops, but wasnt sure how well people are performing on a 6 core. I haven't monitored cpu usage myself but I'm guessing that swtor only utilizes 2 or 3 cores but I'm not the most tech savy.

Does swtor currently benefit from a six core cpu instead of 4 at all?

I can't comment on the performance of a 6 core, however I did have a brief conversation with someone who was using an AMD 6 core cpu (the model escapes me at the moment) and he seemed pretty content with the performance.

Also, I was curious as to the reason for the upgrade. I'm also running a 2500K at 4.4 GHz and the game looks beautiful at max settings (60-70 frames in open world).

The z68 I currently have has been giving me occasional boot loops. This seems pretty common for gigabyte so I didn't bother trying to exchange.

I figure I'd try out a new series msi or asus since they they just started dropping, and if I'm gonna swap boards what the hell, may aswell go ivy
