There is no Posts or Sections that I've seen thus far for Companions only. So I figure I would make a list under the Class Section for all the Companions; Listing their Stats and Weapons along with Which Class they go with and What Location they are obtained on. So please bare with me if any information is incorrect or you could comment and I will correct. This is meant to be used as a guide. Hopefully more information can be obtained by the Devs to answer some questions I actually have in regards to some. I will get to those questions later on. For now The list below is in no particular order So I hope this is easily read.

To Supersede this list below: I want to Say Thank you to all who contributed to this list. I also want to thank Veerlo for this Spreadsheet I'm linking with his post. This should be easy to read and much more efficient and updated than the list below. If you have any problems reading it then please leave a comment.

  2. Quinn
    • Ranged Healer
    • Light Side
  3. Jaesa

  5. Broonmark

Some things that I personally feel that need to be adressed.

Let's look at the companions list above. Most companions have either a Blaster Pistol or Rifle. However There are quite a few companions who use a melee weapon but use Aim as their Primary Stat.

Let's point out a few of them;

Qyzen Fess uses a Techblade, melee weapon, Looks like a Staff, but his primary stat is Aim? This doesn't make sense. Also In previous cutscenes prior to getting him as a companion have him shown with a Pistol.

This also goes for a few other companions as well.

Torian Caldera uses a Tech Staff, melee weapon, but also uses Aim as a Stat.

Skadge uses a Tech Blade, melee Tank, but uses Aim.

Elara Dorne Heals, all other Healers use Cunning, But she uses Aim? Heavy Armor as well. Maybe this is why? Need clarification.

Tanno Vic uses a Vibro Sword but uses Aim as a stat.

Yuun uses an Electro Staff also uses Aim. Shouldn't this be Willpower like Vector Hyllis?

Scorpio uses an Electro Staff but again usues Aim.

Akaavi Spaar uses an Electro Staff but also Aim as a stat.

and Finally We have our Robots for both sides. Neither one can even use a weapon, so they have to Melee; but yet their primary stat is also Aim.

We need to look into a future patch in regarding to fixing our companions Stats. I would like to suggest that maybe if they have a Melee Weapon then use Strength or Willpower as their main Stat. If they use a Blaster Pistol, Rifle, or Sniper Rifle then use Aim or Cunning. If they Heal then use Cunning if they dps then use Aim.

Any comments or likes please post below. Thanks.

@ Toogeloo

Thanks for the info, I was actually planning on doing this as well, just that I'm a slow typer, lol I've been working on this post for over 3 hours. lol wow that's a long time. I started off in Notepad then went to Microsoft Excel Then basically copied over so I could keep a basic format. Unfortunately the format on these Forums do not like Excel Format so much I had to tinker with the works space here, backspace there, bullets here, numbers there. etc etc. So once I have some more time I will add in some more info that I can gather from the other websites that are around.

The gearing can be a bit odd, but I think in some cases they did it to make it simpler. For example - Elara Dorne using Aim instead of Cunning. I guess they decided that since she's a "Trooper" she should wear Heavy Armor. So they kept Aim as her primary stat so you wouldn't then have to have a bunch of Cunning Heavy Armor. However, her gun has Cunning on it insead of Aim, which suggests that they initially developer her as Cunning and switched part way through.

But overall that may be part of the explanation - they wanted to an overall look and feel to the companions, and they didn't want to then come up with bizaare gear that would be useless for everyone else.

All the melee tanks using Aim may be for the same reason - they felt that overall it would be easier for people to gear them that way. Rumor has it tha Qyzek was originally designed as an ranged companion as well.

Well not all the Tanks use Aim.. but yes most of them. But it would only make sense if they were Melee then they should use Strength. and if Range Aim. but maybe that's just me. lol

Well, originally, you could tell they had certain archetypes they wanted for certain companions.

Melee DPS were all supposed to be Assassin/Shadow based in gear.

Healers were all Operative/Scoundrel based in gear.

Ranged DPS were all Gunslinger/Sniper based.

Ranged Tanks were all Powertech/Vangaurd based.

Melee Tanks were all Juggernaut/Knight based.

The funkiness is when you get companions that are supposed to be things like Mandalorians or Troopers but are trying to be fit into roles that aren't archetyped for their gear. There is no reason Elara couldn't be a Commando Healer, but all they did was made it wonky. It's even more difficult to gear certain characters weapons... like Snipers on the Republic (Risha) or Gunslingers on the Imperials (Vette/Temple). And of course Droids, or half the Bounty Hunter Companions.

It's not really difficult to gear a Sniper type companion on the Republic side. Most gear that they share are the same as Gunslingers and Scoundrels. The only difference is the weapons. And even those weapons can be found via Drops, Armstech, PVP Gear, and Daily Quests on Belsavis at lvl 50.

But considering the Archtypes, There is a few things I noticed that are just either passive or cenimatically viewed are some of the weapons on the companions that aren't really there.

For example. Imperial Agents with a Blaster Pistol but they don't really carry one as a side arm.

Kaliyo has a Shotgun (Scattergun) when she does a certain ability.

Just noticing things like these could make you wonder why aren't these actually on the characters or companions. Is it because of the Extra Stats they may carry might make our characters or companions over powered? or Is it just for cosmetic reasons.

Either way you look at it, We're still gearing them as we level up, til we hit 40 then it's all orange PVP gear for the Arch Class they are.

Qyzen, most of the Trooper companions plus Torian Caldera would all wear the Bounty Hunter / Trooper pvp gear.

While Mako and Doc, wearing the Field Medic PVP gear.

etc etc..

Then once you hit 50 then we start the gearing process all over again. With the Raiding gear. For those who raid.

I for one will be glad when they do come out with Companion related gear. Specifically for our companions like the Raiding and PVP gear.

Well, this is pretty much all wrong.
Sergeant Rusk is not a tank (does not have any tank abilities like taunts, and can't use shield.)
Also he does not use sniper rifle.
His weapon is Assault Cannon. Like a dps commando

All Fixed Thanks Eternalnight.

Those were actually copy and pasted from one of the other websites. But I should have known about Rusk since I have a 50 Guardian. lol
